Installation

Installation Safety Precautions

Electrical Connection:

  • The appliance must be properly grounded. The power cord has a three-prong plug for safety.
  • Never remove the earthing connection from the power cord.
  • Connect to the appropriate power supply as indicated on the rating label. Use a 10 amp time delay fuse or circuit breaker for a dedicated circuit.
  • Ensure voltage and frequency match the rating plate. Use only earthed electrical sockets.
  • Do not use adapters; they can cause overheating.
  • Secure the power cord behind the appliance to prevent tripping.
  • Plug into its own individual electrical outlet matching the appliance's voltage rating.
  • Never unplug by pulling the cord; grip the plug firmly. Replace frayed or damaged cords immediately.

Extension Cord:

WARNING: DO NOT USE AN EXTENSION CORD OR AN ADAPTER PLUG WITH THIS APPLIANCE.

Grounding Instructions:

The appliance must be earthed for protection against electric shock. Use the provided grounding plug and an appropriate, earthed outlet compliant with local standards.

Warning: Improper grounding can cause electric shock. Consult a qualified electrician if unsure. Do not modify the plug; have a proper outlet installed if needed.

Installation Steps:

Cold Water Connection

  • Connect the cold water supply hose to a 3/4-inch threaded connector, ensuring it is tightly fastened.
  • If water pipes are new or unused for a long time, run water to clear debris before connecting to prevent blockages.
  • Close the hydrant after use if the appliance does not have an aqua-stop feature.

Drain Hose Connection

  • Insert the drain hose into a drain pipe (min. 4cm diameter) or into the sink.
  • Avoid bending or crimping the hose. Use the provided plastic support.
  • The hose height must be between 40cm and 100cm.
  • Ensure the free end of the hose is not immersed in water to prevent backflow.

Positioning the Appliance

Place the dishwasher in its desired location, with the back against the wall and sides against adjacent cabinets or walls. Hoses can be routed to the left or right.

Water Outlet

Connect the drain hose securely to prevent leaks. Ensure it is not kinked or squashed.

Extension Hose

If an extension hose is needed, use a similar type. It must not exceed 4 meters in length to maintain cleaning efficiency.

Levelling

Adjust the appliance's height using the feet to ensure it is level. The appliance should not be inclined more than 2°.

Syphon Connection

The waste connection must be between 40cm and 100cm from the bottom of the dishwasher. Secure the drain hose with a clip. Do not immerse the hose end in water.

Aquasafe Connection

The Aquasafe system is a safety valve that cuts off water supply in case of leaks in the inlet hose. Do not immerse the inlet hose or safety valve in water. If damaged, disconnect the main plug immediately. Do not alter the inlet hose.

  3. Insert the plug into a 220-240 VAC, 50 Hz, 10A socket. Ensure water supply is on.
  4. Close the door and press the ON/OFF button.
  5. Press the Program button to select a cycle, then press Start/Pause.

Note: Pausing the cycle will stop the display blinking and a buzzer will sound every minute until resumed. If error codes appear, turn off power and water supply.

Forget to Add a Dish?

You can add a forgotten dish before the detergent cup opens:

  1. Open the door slightly to pause the wash.
  2. Wait for spray arms to stop, then open the door fully.
  3. Load the forgotten dishes.
  4. Close the door; the dishwasher will resume after 10 seconds.

Warning: Opening the door during washing can cause scalding from hot water.

At the End of the Wash Cycle

A buzzer will sound when the cycle finishes. Turn off the appliance, shut off the water supply, and open the door. Wait a few minutes before unloading to allow dishes to cool and dry better.

Switch off the Dishwasher

When the display shows '-:--' (program ended), press the ON/OFF button and turn off the water tap.

Unloading the Dishwasher

Allow dishes to cool for about 15 minutes. Open the door slightly to aid cooling and drying. Empty the lower basket first, then the upper basket, to prevent dripping.

Before Starting the Dishwasher

Check that the dishwasher is level and secure, the inlet valve is open, connections are leak-free, power is on, hoses are not kinked, and all packing materials are removed.

Prior to Using for the First Time: Fill the Rinse Aid Dispenser

Rinse aid prevents water spots and improves drying. Use liquid rinse aid. The dispenser is on the inside of the door. Fill until the level indicator turns black. The container holds about 140ml.

Function of Rinse Aid: Added during the final rinse for spotless drying.

Warning: Use only branded rinse aid. Do not use other substances.

When to refill: The optical level indicator shows the level. Refill when the dark dot decreases significantly (below 1/4 full).

Diagram Description: The rinse aid indicator shows levels from Full to Empty. Steps for filling the dispenser are illustrated: turn cap to 'open', pour rinse aid, replace cap to 'closed'.

Caution: Do not overfill rinse aid to avoid suds. Wipe spills immediately.

Adjusting the Rinse Aid Dispenser

Start with setting "3". Increase to "4" for spots/poor drying, decrease if there are sticky stains or bluish film.

Diagram Description: A dial with 'MAX' and 'MIN' indicates the rinse aid adjustment lever.

Detergents

Types: With phosphate/chlorine, with phosphate/no chlorine, no phosphate/no chlorine. Phosphate-free detergents may require salt even for soft water. Detergents without chlorine bleach less effectively.

Concentrated Detergent

Conventional (alkaline) vs. low-alkaline (with enzymes). Using normal programs with concentrated detergents can achieve results similar to intensive programs.

Detergent Tablets

Use long programs for detergent tablets to ensure complete dissolution.

Detergent Dispenser

Refill before each wash cycle. Generally, one tablespoon is sufficient for normal loads. Add detergent just before starting.

Diagram Description: An illustration shows how to open the detergent dispenser lid by pressing a release button.

Loading the Dishwasher Basket

General Tips:

  • Scrape off large food particles. Soften burnt food. Rinsing is not necessary.
  • Do not let items extend through the bottom.
  • Load sharp utensils with points down.
  • Ensure dishes and cutlery do not impede spray arm rotation.
  • Load hollow items (cups, glasses) opening downwards for drainage.
  • Do not let items overlap or touch each other to avoid damage.
  • Load large, difficult-to-clean items in the lower rack.
  • The upper rack is for delicate items like glasses, cups, and small bowls.
  • Long bladed knives are a hazard if stored upright; position horizontally.
  • Very small items should not be washed as they may fall through the baskets.

Removing the Dishes: Empty the lower basket first, then the upper, to prevent dripping.

Loading the Upper Basket

Designed for delicate and lighter items. Position items so they don't move. The upper basket height is adjustable (Position 1: high, Position 2: low). Side flaps can be adjusted for glasses and cups.

Diagram Description: Illustrations show the upper basket with numbered positions for cups, glasses, and sauces. Another diagram shows how to adjust the basket height using clips. Another shows side flaps for glasses and cups, with two positions.

Loading the Lower Basket

Recommended for large, difficult-to-clean items like pots, pans, lids, and serving dishes. Place them top-down or slanted for drainage. Fold-down tine rows accommodate larger items.

Diagram Description: Illustrations show placement of pots, pans, and serving dishes in the lower basket. A diagram shows how to fold down the tine rows.

Cutlery Basket

Place cutlery with handles at the bottom. Load spoons separately. Long utensils can be placed horizontally in the upper basket.

Diagram Description: An illustration shows the cutlery basket with numbered slots for forks, soup spoons, dessert spoons, teaspoons, and knives.

Suitability of Items

Not Suitable: Cutlery with wooden/horn/mother-of-pearl handles, non-heat-resistant plastic, glued parts, bonded items, pewter, copper, crystal glass, steel prone to rusting, wooden platters, synthetic fibres.

Limited Suitability: Some glasses may dull over time. Silver/aluminum may discolour. Glazed patterns may fade.

Note: Do not wash items with cigarette ash, candle wax, lacquer, or paint. Ensure new dishes are dishwasher-safe. Do not overload.

Damage to Glassware and Other Dishes

Causes include glass type, detergent composition, water temperature, and program duration. Use dishwasher-safe glassware. Use mild detergent. Select lower temperatures. Remove dishes promptly after the cycle.

Proper Use of Detergent

Use only specialized dishwasher detergent. Keep it dry. Add powdered detergent just before washing.

Diagram Description: A diagram shows the detergent dispenser with labels A (main wash) and B (pre-wash).

Combination Detergents (2-in-1, 3-in-1, etc.): Check water hardness compatibility. Use according to manufacturer instructions. Not liable for damages caused by compact detergents.

3-in-1 Program: Requires no salt or rinse aid, uses a 3-in-1 tablet. Use the provided container. Only use with the 3-in-1 program.

Diagram Description: Illustrations show how to attach the 3-in-1 tablet container to the upper basket and how to rotate the spray arm.

Care and Cleaning

Caring for the Dishwasher

  • Clean the control panel with a lightly dampened cloth and dry thoroughly.
  • Use appliance polish wax for the exterior. Avoid harsh cleaners or scouring pads.
  • Clean door edges with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use spray cleaners near the door lock.
  • Avoid abrasive agents or paper towels on stainless steel surfaces.

Protect Against Freezing

In winter, after washing cycles:

  1. Turn off electrical power.
  2. Turn off water supply and disconnect the inlet pipe.
  3. Drain water from the pipe and valve into a pan.
  4. Reconnect the inlet pipe.
  5. Remove the bottom filter and soak up sump water with a sponge.

Note: If the dishwasher freezes, contact service personnel.

Cleaning the Spray Arms

Regularly clean spray arms to prevent clogging by hard water chemicals.

  • To remove the upper spray arm, unscrew the nut clockwise.
  • To remove the lower spray arm, pull it upward.
  • Wash arms in warm, soapy water with a soft brush. Rinse thoroughly.

Diagram Description: Illustrations show how to unscrew the upper spray arm and pull out the lower spray arm.

How to Keep Your Dishwasher in Shape

  • After each wash, turn off the water supply and leave the door slightly ajar to prevent moisture and odours.
  • Before maintenance, unplug the appliance.
  • Clean exterior and rubber parts with warm, soapy water; avoid solvents.
  • Remove interior spots/stains with a damp cloth and vinegar or a specialized dishwasher cleaner.
  • For long periods of non-use, run an empty wash cycle, unplug, turn off water, and leave the door ajar to preserve seals and prevent odours.

Moving the Appliance

Keep the appliance upright when moving. If necessary, it can be tilted onto its back.

Seals

Clean seals periodically with a damp sponge to remove trapped food particles that cause odours.

Filtering System

The filter system prevents large food particles from entering the pump. It consists of a Main Filter, Coarse Filter, and Fine Filter.

  • Main Filter: Pulverizes particles and washes them down the drain.
  • Coarse Filter: Traps larger items like bones or glass. Squeeze taps to remove.
  • Fine Filter: Holds soil and food residues in the sump.

Diagram Description: The filter system is shown with three parts labeled 1 (Main Filter), 2 (Coarse Filter), and 3 (Fine Filter). Steps 1-3 illustrate removing the filters by turning and lifting them.

Filter Assembly

The filter removes food particles, allowing water recycling. Clean the filter regularly. Remove larger particles after each wash. Clean the entire assembly weekly.

Warning: Never use the dishwasher without filters. Improper replacement can reduce performance and damage dishes.

Cleaning the Filter

Clean coarse and fine filters with a brush. Reassemble and reinsert the filter parts.
