Introduction

This set includes 2 Walkie-Talkie units. These are communication devices that operate on mobile radio frequencies. The devices have a channel that allows you and your friends to communicate with each other free of charge (up to 500 m in open areas).

Before using the device

Remove the belt clip

Before inserting batteries into the device, first pull the belt clip latch away from the device.

Installing the Batteries

  1. Open the battery compartment at the bottom of the battery compartment cover.
  2. Insert 3x AAA alkaline batteries into each unit.
  3. Position the batteries according to the polarity marking on the battery compartment.
  4. After placing batteries into correct positions, replace the battery cover and attach the clip.

Using the device

Turning the device on/off

Switch on the device: Slide the right ON/OFF switch upwards until the LED lights up green.

Switch the device off: Slide the right ON/OFF switch downwards until the LED light goes out.

Sending a call tone

If you press the PTT button once quickly, a call tone is transmitted to your other device, which is on the same channel.

Receiving/transmitting communications

The device is in “Receiving” mode when it is turned ON and not transmitting. When you hold the PTT (push to talk) button, the device switches to “Transmission” mode. The indicator lamp lights up red. Hold the device in a vertical position with the Mic (microphone) 3-5cm away from your mouth. While holding the Call/PTT button, speak into the microphone in a normal tone of voice. Release the Call/PTT button when you have finished transmitting.

Note:

  1. The talking range will depend on your surroundings and environment. It will be affected by obstructions such as hills or buildings.
  2. Don't try to use two devices which are less than 1.5m (5 feet) apart. Otherwise, you may experience interference.

Disposal

Dispose of the packaging materials properly, according to their type, such as paper or cardboard. Contact your local waste-disposal service or environmental authority for information on the proper disposal.

Do not dispose of electronic devices in the household garbage!

As per the Directive 2012/19/EC of the European Parliament on waste electrical and electronic equipment and its adaptation into German law, used electronic devices must be collected separately and recycled in an environmentally friendly manner.

In accordance with the regulations concerning batteries and rechargeable batteries, disposing of them in the normal household waste is explicitly forbidden. Please make sure to dispose of your used batteries as required by law - at a local collection point or in the retail market. Disposal in domestic waste violates the Battery Directive.
