8. Safety Reminder
This electric scooter is a leisure device. In public areas, it is considered a vehicle and subject to vehicle risks. For your safety, adhere to manual instructions and traffic laws.
(Pour votre sécurité, veuillez suivre les instructions contenues dans le manuel et les lois sur la circulation et les règlements énoncés par les organismes gouvernementaux et réglementaires.)
Understand that risks exist due to others' incautious driving. Faster speeds require longer stopping distances. Slippery surfaces can lead to loss of balance and falls. Exercise caution, maintain proper speed and distance, especially in unfamiliar areas.
Respect pedestrians' right of way. Alert them with your bell when approaching from behind and pass on their left (where applicable). When crossing paths with pedestrians, keep to the right at a low speed or dismount.
Follow safety instructions, especially where electric scooter laws are not established. Hiboy is not liable for losses or injuries resulting from violations of user instructions.
Do not lend the scooter to untrained individuals. If lending, ensure the borrower knows how to operate it and wears safety gear.
Check the scooter before each use. If loose parts, low battery alerts, excessive wear, strange sounds, or malfunctions are noted, stop riding and seek professional support.
Devices are not intended for use above 2000m elevation. Prolonged exposure to UV rays, rain, and elements may damage materials; store indoors when not in use.
WARNING: Risk of Fire - No User Serviceable Parts. (AVERTISSEMENT - Risque d'incendie - Aucune des pièces ne peut être réparée par l'utilisateur)
9. Folding and Carrying
Folding:
Ensure the scooter is turned off. Unlock the folding mechanism, bend the handlebar stem, and hook the clamp onto the rear fender. To open, unhook from the clamp, erect the handlebar, and lock the folding structure.
[Diagram sequence showing folding steps]
Carrying:
Hold the handlebar stem with one or both hands to carry the scooter.
[Illustration of carrying the folded scooter]
10. Daily Care and Maintenance
Cleaning and Storage:
Wipe stains with a damp cloth. For stubborn stains, use toothpaste and a toothbrush, then wipe clean. Polish scratches on plastic parts with sandpaper.
Notes: Do not use alcohol, gasoline, kerosene, or other volatile solvents. Do not use high-pressure water spray. Ensure the scooter is off, the charging cable is unplugged, and the rubber flap is closed during cleaning to prevent electric shock or damage.
Store the scooter indoors in a dry, cool place when not in use. Avoid prolonged outdoor exposure. Excessive sunlight, heat, or cold can accelerate tire aging and reduce the lifespan of the scooter and battery.
Battery Maintenance:
WARNING!
- Use original battery packs only.
- Do not touch battery contacts, dismantle, or puncture the casing. Keep contacts away from metal objects to prevent short circuits.
- Use the original power adapter.
- Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.
- Fully charge the battery after every use to prolong its lifespan.
Do not expose the battery to temperatures above 104°F (40°C) or below 14°F (-10°C). Do not leave the scooter in direct sunlight in a car for extended periods. Do not throw batteries into fire.
If storing for over 30 days, fully charge the battery and store it in a dry, cool place. Recharge every 60 days to prevent damage beyond warranty.
Always charge before the battery is fully depleted. Battery performance is best at normal temperatures; it degrades significantly below 32°F (0°C), with range halving or less below -4°F (-20°C).
Damage from prolonged non-charging is irreversible and not covered by warranty. Once damaged, the battery cannot be recharged.

15. Question & Answer
- Q: What information is needed before contacting Hiboy Support?
A: Include order number, model number, problem description, pictures, and videos in your email to support@hiboy.com. - Q: My scooter won't turn on. What should I do?
A: Ensure it's not charging. Make sure the battery has sufficient charge. Contact support@hiboy.com if issues persist. - Q: I can't charge my scooter. What's the problem?
A: Check the charger's LED indicator (red for charging, green for full). If the charger LED is off or not green when plugged in without the scooter, the charger may be defective. Contact support@hiboy.com if the charger is fine but charging fails. - Q: The app shows "user doesn't exist" when logging in. How to solve?
A: Register first using your email address. Your email will then serve as your account. - Q: Why am I not receiving the verification code for app registration?
A: Check your email's spam folder. - Q: I can't register the app successfully. What can I do?
A: Email support@hiboy.com with your registration email, mobile version (iPhone/Android), and a screenshot of the problem. - Q: Can I reset my app password?
A: Yes, click "Forgot password" on the app. - Q: The device is activated; please reset the device before proceeding. What does this mean?
A: One scooter can only connect to one app account. The scooter is likely connected by another user. Ask them to unbind or delete the device from their account. - Q: What if the e-scooter arrives with missing accessories or broken parts?
A: Email photos to support@hiboy.com. Hiboy Support will respond and send replacements. - Q: How to attach the seat?
A: Refer to the assembly steps in this manual or search for "how to assemble Hiboy seat" on Google for video tutorials. - Q: Can I replace components like the rear fender?
A: Yes, email photos to support@hiboy.com. Hiboy Support will advise. - Q: My scooter was stolen. Can you help?
A: Hiboy cannot track scooters. Contact local police. - Q: I emailed support@hiboy.com but received no response. Why?
A: Support typically replies within 1 working day. Check your spam folder and add support@hiboy.com to your whitelist. You can also contact them via the platform of purchase (e.g., Amazon chat, hiboy.com website, eBay chat). - Q: The scooter is not moving when I press the throttle. Why?
A: The scooter has a kick-off start function for safety. You must stand on the scooter and kick off to reach a minimum speed of 3.1 mph before the throttle engages. Refer to the manual for kick-off start operation. - Q: What can I do with the App?
A: Control lights, lock/unlock, set max speed, enable/disable cruise control or zero start, change speed units, rename the scooter, and check status (speed, distance, battery). - Q: Why can't the speed reach 19 mph?
A: Ensure you've double-clicked the power button to select Sport mode ('S'). Check if the max speed was modified in the app. Battery status, rider weight, and road conditions also affect max speed. - Q: Why is the max distance lower than advertised?
A: The advertised max distance is measured under specific conditions (no wind, 77°F, even speed of 11.4 mph, 165 lbs load). Real-world range varies with load, humidity, wind, and riding habits. - Q: Can I ride in rainy days?
A: The scooter has an IPX4 waterproof rating; riding in rain is not recommended. - Q: The scooter is advertised with two brakes, but there's only one brake lever. Why?
A: The KS4/KS4 Pro integrates both the front electronic brake and rear disc brake into a single lever for easier operation and shorter braking distances. - Q: What precautions should I take when storing the scooter for a long vacation?
A: Store in a dry, cool place, not outdoors for extended periods. If idle for over 30 days, fully charge the battery and recharge every 60 days to prevent damage.
