Understanding Water Quality with TDS

TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) refers to all minerals such as sodium, calcium, and magnesium. While TDS levels can give an indication of water composition, it's important to note that TDS levels do not solely determine water quality. This dispenser filtration system is designed to effectively adsorb contaminants and heavy metals while retaining beneficial minerals in the water. For a significant reduction in TDS, a Reverse Osmosis Filtration System is recommended.

Here's a general TDS range for common substances:

Substance TDS Range
Milk 1000~3000
Milk powder >2000
Coffee 150~400
Mineral water 200~500

Questions and Answers

Q: Why does the water flow get slow?
A: The filter may be clogged. Check the indicator to see if it's time to change the filter. If so, replace it immediately. If not, try taking out the filter and shaking it to shift the granules inside, which may improve water flow speed.
Q: Why does the water taste bad?
A: The product may be unclean, or the filter might not be installed properly. It could also be time to change the filter. Clean the dispenser, ensure the filter is correctly installed, or replace the filter.
Q: My filter indicator is not working; I cannot see the color of the indicator!
A: The battery might be out of power. The filter indicator is replaceable. If it is within the warranty period, Waterdrop can replace it for free.
Q: Why doesn't the TDS value reduce after filtration?
A: TDS stands for total dissolved solids, comprising inorganic salts and a small amount of organic matter. This filter is designed to remove harmful substances while retaining beneficial trace elements like potassium, sodium, magnesium, and calcium, which contribute to the TDS value. For TDS reduction, consider Waterdrop's RO system.
