Waterdrop Dispenser Filtration System

Understanding Water Quality with TDS
TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) refers to all minerals such as sodium, calcium, and magnesium. While TDS levels can give an indication of water composition, it's important to note that TDS levels do not solely determine water quality. This dispenser filtration system is designed to effectively adsorb contaminants and heavy metals while retaining beneficial minerals in the water. For a significant reduction in TDS, a Reverse Osmosis Filtration System is recommended.
Here's a general TDS range for common substances:
Substance | TDS Range |
---|---|
Milk | 1000~3000 |
Milk powder | >2000 |
Coffee | 150~400 |
Mineral water | 200~500 |

Care and Safety Information
- Use cold water only. The operating temperature range is 41-100°F (5-38°C).
- Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality. This filter is designed for tap water only.
- For best results, store the system in a cool area, away from direct sunlight, or in the refrigerator.
- If the filter dries out, soak it in cold tap water for 10 minutes to remove bubbles and activate the filter for optimal performance.
- If tap water is turbid (e.g., after cleaning the water tank or prolonged non-use), flush the system for a few minutes until the water runs clear.
- If the dispenser will not be used for an extended period, store it in a clean, lidded container in the refrigerator to prolong filter life.
- Protect the filter from freezing, as this can cause cracking and water leakage.
Getting Started / Instruction for Use
- Step 1: Wash your hands. Insert the tap spout into the tank, ensuring it is upright. Install it by rotating accessory A. Ensure a proper seal to prevent leaks. If leaks occur, tighten accessory A. [Diagrams illustrating Step 1]
- Step 2: Remove the filter from its packaging.
- Step 3: Soak the filter in cold tap water for 10 minutes to remove bubbles and activate it for best performance. [Diagram illustrating Step 3]
- Step 4: Hand-wash the dispenser, lid, and reservoir using a mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners and dishwashers. Rinse thoroughly.
- Step 5: Install the filter into the reservoir, pressing firmly to ensure a tight seal. [Diagram illustrating Step 5]
- Step 6: Fill the reservoir with cold tap water.
- Step 7: Hold the button for 5 seconds until the blue light flashes to activate the indicator. Repeat this step after each new filter replacement. [Diagram illustrating Step 7 and indicator status]
Indicator Status Guide:
Status | Indication Light | Remaining Life (Days) |
---|---|---|
Good | Blue stays on for 5 seconds | >10 |
Replace soon | Red flashes 6 times | ≤10 |
Replace now | Red stays on for 10 seconds | ≤0 |
Change your filter when you have filtered 400 gallons of water or when the smart indicator shows red.
Change Water Filter

Questions and Answers
- Q: Why does the water flow get slow?
- A: The filter may be clogged. Check the indicator to see if it's time to change the filter. If so, replace it immediately. If not, try taking out the filter and shaking it to shift the granules inside, which may improve water flow speed.
- Q: Why does the water taste bad?
- A: The product may be unclean, or the filter might not be installed properly. It could also be time to change the filter. Clean the dispenser, ensure the filter is correctly installed, or replace the filter.
- Q: My filter indicator is not working; I cannot see the color of the indicator!
- A: The battery might be out of power. The filter indicator is replaceable. If it is within the warranty period, Waterdrop can replace it for free.
- Q: Why doesn't the TDS value reduce after filtration?
- A: TDS stands for total dissolved solids, comprising inorganic salts and a small amount of organic matter. This filter is designed to remove harmful substances while retaining beneficial trace elements like potassium, sodium, magnesium, and calcium, which contribute to the TDS value. For TDS reduction, consider Waterdrop's RO system.
