Quick Start Guide
Setting Up the Zyxel Device
Follow these steps to set up your Zyxel Device:
- Attach the bracket to the bottom of the Zyxel Device.
- Place the Zyxel Device where you want to extend your wireless network.
- Plug in the power adapter and turn on the Zyxel Device. Wait for about 2 minutes until the Power LED lights up steady green.
MPro Mesh Network Scenario 1: With MPro Mesh Router
This scenario applies if you have a Zyxel router that supports MPro Mesh. If not, refer to Network Scenario 2.
Note: To check MPro Mesh router compatibility, scan the QR code on the last page. To set up with the MPro Mesh app, scan the QR code on the last page.
- Use the included Ethernet cable to connect the Zyxel Device's 2.5G LAN port to the MPro Mesh Router's LAN port. Wait for the POWER and LINK LEDs to be steady green.
- Unplug the Ethernet and power cables from the Zyxel Device.
- Place the Zyxel Device where you need better WiFi coverage.
- Plug in the power adapter. Ensure the LINK LED is steady green. If the LINK LED is red, move the Zyxel Device closer to the MPro Mesh Router.
- To add more extenders, repeat from step 1.
LED Status Descriptions:
- Power LED:
Green On: Power is on or MPro Mesh pairing is done.
Green Blinking: Device is starting up or in MPro Mesh pairing.
Red On: System error.
Red Blinking (Fast): Firmware upgrade in progress.
Red Blinking (Slow): MPro Mesh process failed. - Link LED:
Green On (With WiFi Connection): Good WiFi connection to MPro Mesh router.
Green On (With Wired Connection): Ethernet cable connected to 2.5G LAN port.
Green Blinking: Transmitting/receiving WiFi data.
Red On: Weak signal; move device closer to router.
Off: 2.4G/5G WiFi disabled. - WPS LED:
Amber On: Zyxel Device is the controller.
Amber Blinking: WPS process in progress.
Off: WPS process completed.
MPro Mesh Network Scenario 2: With Non-MPro Mesh Router and Two Zyxel Devices
This scenario applies when using a non-MPro Mesh router and extending the network with two Zyxel Devices.
- Connect the first Zyxel Device (Zyxel Device-1) 2.5G LAN port to the Non-MPro Mesh Router's LAN port using an Ethernet cable. Wait for POWER and LINK LEDs to be steady green.
- Connect the second Zyxel Device (Zyxel Device-2) 2.5G LAN port to the first Zyxel Device (Zyxel Device-1) 2.5G LAN port using another Ethernet cable. Wait for POWER and LINK LEDs on Zyxel Device-2 to be steady green.
- Unplug the Ethernet and power cables from Zyxel Device-2.
- Place Zyxel Device-2 where you need better WiFi coverage.
- Plug in the power adapter. Ensure the LINK LED is steady green. If the LINK LED is red, move Zyxel Device-2 closer to Zyxel Device-1.
- To add more extenders, repeat from step 2.
Note: Do not unplug the Ethernet cable connecting Zyxel Device-1 and the Non-MPro Mesh Router in this scenario.
LED Status Descriptions (for Zyxel Device-2):
- Power LED:
Green On: Power is on or MPro Mesh pairing is done.
Green Blinking: Device is starting up or in MPro Mesh pairing.
Red On: System error.

Managing Your Zyxel Device Using the MPro Mesh App
Download the MPro Mesh app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to manage your Zyxel Device.
Note: To manage your Mesh network, connect the MPro Mesh app to the Controller (MPro Mesh Router in Scenario 1 or Zyxel Device-1 in Scenario 2).
