Setting Up the Zyxel Device

Follow these steps to set up your Zyxel Device:

  1. Attach the bracket to the bottom of the Zyxel Device.
  2. Place the Zyxel Device in the desired location to extend your wireless network.
  3. Plug in the power adapter and turn on the Zyxel Device. Wait for approximately 2 minutes until the Power LED lights up steady green.

LED Status Indicators:

PowerBlinkingThe Zyxel Device is starting up or under the MPro Mesh configuration process.
PowerRed OnThe Zyxel Device detects a system error.
PowerBlinking (Fast)The Zyxel Device is upgrading firmware.
PowerBlinking (Slow)The MPro Mesh process has failed.
Link (With Wireless Connection)Green OnThe WiFi connection to the MPro Mesh router is good.
Link (With Wireless Connection)Red OnThe signal is too weak. Move the Zyxel Device closer to the MPro Mesh Router.
Link (With Wired Connection)Green OnThe Ethernet cable is connected to the Zyxel Device LAN port.
WiFiGreen OnThe WiFi connection to the MPro Mesh router is good.
WiFiBlinkingThe Zyxel Device is transmitting/receiving WiFi data.
WiFiOff2.4G/5G WiFi is disabled.
WPSAmber BlinkingThe WPS is in process.
WPSOffThe WPS process is done.

MPro Mesh Network Scenarios

Scenario 1: With MPro Mesh Router

This scenario applies if you have a Zyxel router that supports MPro Mesh. If not, refer to Network Scenario 2.

  1. Use the included Ethernet cable to connect the Zyxel Device LAN port to the MPro Mesh Router LAN port. Wait until the POWER and LINK LEDs are steady green.
  2. Unplug the Ethernet and power cable from the Zyxel Device.
  3. Place the Zyxel Device where you want to extend your wireless network.
  4. Plug in the power adapter. Ensure the LINK LED is steady green. If the LINK LED is red, move the Zyxel Device closer to the MPro Mesh Router.
  5. To add more extenders, repeat from step 1.

Scenario 2: With Non-MPro Mesh Router and Two Zyxel Devices

This scenario applies if you have a non-MPro Mesh router and want to use two Zyxel Devices as extenders.

  1. Use the included Ethernet cable to connect the first Zyxel Device (Zyxel Device-1) LAN port to the Non-MPro Mesh Router LAN port. Wait until the POWER and LINK LEDs are steady green.
  2. Use another Ethernet cable to connect the second Zyxel Device (Zyxel Device-2) LAN port to the first Zyxel Device (Zyxel Device-1) LAN port. Wait until the POWER and LINK LEDs on Zyxel Device-2 are steady green.
  3. Unplug the Ethernet and power cable from the Zyxel Device-2.
  4. Place the Zyxel Device-2 where you want to extend your wireless network.
  5. Plug in the power adapter. Ensure the LINK LED is steady green. If the LINK LED is red, move the Zyxel Device-2 closer to the Zyxel Device-1.
  6. To add more extenders, repeat from step 2.
  7. Note: Do not unplug the Ethernet cable connecting the Zyxel Device-1 and Non-MPro Mesh Router in this scenario.

Managing Your Zyxel Device Using the MPro Mesh App

Download the MPro Mesh app to manage your Zyxel Device.

Scan the QR code to get the app from Google Play or the App Store.

Scan the QR code to see steps for setting up your Zyxel Device with the MPro Mesh app.

Note: To manage your Mesh network, connect the MPro Mesh app to the Controller (MPro Mesh Router in Scenario 1 or Zyxel Device-1 in Scenario 2).
