- Battery Handling:
If you remove the button battery, be careful not to swallow it, especially small children. Keep batteries out of reach of children. If a child swallows a battery, seek immediate medical attention.
Care and Maintenance
- Cleaning: The case and band can accumulate dirt and cause rust, potentially staining clothing. Keep the case and band clean. They are prone to rust if left after being immersed in seawater.
- Skin Irritation: The watch case and band are in direct contact with the skin, which may cause irritation depending on usage conditions. Causes include:
- Allergies to metal or leather.
- Dirt, rust, or sweat on the watch case or band.
- Poor physical condition.
Wearing the band too tightly can cause sweating and poor air circulation, leading to irritation. Wear the band with some slack.
The 'Anti-odor Band' suppresses the growth of bacteria from sweat, preventing odors, but it does not prevent skin irritation.
If any irritation occurs, discontinue use and consult a doctor.
General Usage Precautions
- Do Not Disassemble: Disassembling the watch can cause injury or malfunction.
- Safe Usage: Check the watch display in a safe location to prevent falls or injuries. Be especially careful during road running, cycling, or driving, as it can cause accidents. Also, be mindful of preventing accidents involving third parties.
- Battery Replacement: If the watch stops, replace the battery promptly.
- Band Clasp: Be careful not to injure your fingernails with the band clasp when putting on or taking off the watch. Avoid operating the clasp with long fingernails.
- Preventing Injury/Irritation: Remove the watch during sleep or when handling infants to prevent accidental injury or skin irritation.
- Protective Stickers: If protective stickers are attached to the case or band, remove them before use. Using the watch with stickers on can lead to dirt accumulation between the case/band and the sticker, causing rust or irritation.

Precautions for Use
- Water Resistance: Watches marked 'WATER RESIST' or 'WATER RESISTANT' are classified as follows:
- Daily Water Resistance: For splashes, rain.
- 5 BAR: For use in water, but not for swimming or diving.
- 10 BAR: For swimming and light water sports, but not for scuba diving or high-velocity water jets.
- 20 BAR: For scuba diving (excluding saturation diving) and water sports.
Important: Do not operate buttons underwater. Rinse with fresh water and dry after exposure to seawater. Regular gasket replacement (every 2-3 years) is recommended to maintain water resistance. Water resistance checks are performed during battery replacement; contact your retailer.
Note: Even if the watch is water-resistant, avoid using leather bands for water activities. Condensation inside the glass due to temperature changes is normal and usually clears quickly. If it persists or water is visible inside, discontinue use and seek repair.
- Band Care: Avoid overtightening the band, as it can cause sweating and irritation. Wear the band with enough slack for a finger to fit underneath. Check for wear, cracking, discoloration, or loose pins, which can lead to the watch falling off or causing injury. Keep bands clean.
- Band Printing: Rubbing printed bands may cause the print to come off.
- Fluorescent Products: If wet, dry promptly to prevent color loss.
- Clear Resin Parts: May discolor due to sweat, dirt, heat, or humidity.
- Deterioration: Bands can degrade over time, leading to breakage.
- Leather Bands: Avoid contact with other products when wet to prevent color transfer. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight (UV) which can cause fading. Leather bands may transfer color or fade.
- Metal Parts: Clean regularly to prevent rust. Clean with a soft brush and mild detergent, rinse thoroughly, and dry with a soft cloth. Protect the watch face from detergent.
- Anti-odor Band: Suppresses bacteria and odor for comfort. Keep clean. It does not prevent allergies.
- LCD Display: Visibility may vary depending on the viewing angle.
- General Precautions: Avoid extreme temperatures. Do not leave the watch in hot places (e.g., car dashboard) or cold places for extended periods, as this can affect accuracy or cause malfunction. High temperatures (>60°C) can damage the LCD. Display visibility may decrease at low temperatures (<0°C) or high temperatures (>40°C).
- Shock: The watch can withstand normal shocks from light activities like playing catch or tennis. However, avoid dropping or hitting it hard, as this can cause damage. Models with shock-resistant structures (G-SHOCK, BABY-G, G-MS) are designed for higher impact resistance.
- Magnetism: Avoid strong magnetic fields (e.g., medical equipment) as they can cause malfunction or damage. Static electricity can also affect the display or damage components.
- Chemicals: Avoid contact with solvents, gasoline, cleaners, adhesives, paints, etc., as they can damage resin cases and bands.
- Storage: If not using the watch for an extended period, wipe it clean, and store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity.
- Resin Parts: Prolonged contact with other products, especially when wet, can cause color transfer. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight (UV) which can cause fading.
- Disclaimer: The manufacturer is not liable for any damages, lost profits, or claims from third parties resulting from the use or malfunction of this product.
Care and Maintenance
- General Care: Wipe the watch regularly with a soft, dry cloth to keep it clean.
- Seawater/Mud: Rinse with fresh water and dry thoroughly.
- Metal and Resin Bands: Clean metal parts and resin bands with a soft toothbrush and a mild detergent solution or soapy water. Rinse well with water and dry with a soft, absorbent cloth. To prevent detergent from reaching the watch, wrap the watch face with plastic wrap before washing.
- Resin Bands: Wash with water and dry with a soft cloth. Discoloration may occur on the surface due to absorption of sweat or dirt, but it does not affect the watch's performance or pose a health risk. Wipe with a cloth.
- Leather Bands: If the leather band becomes wet from sweat or water, wipe it gently with a soft cloth.
- Crown and Buttons: Operate the crown and buttons occasionally to prevent them from becoming stiff.
- Consequences of Neglect:
- Rust: While metal parts are resistant to rust, dirt can cause it to form. If rust appears, it may create sharp edges or cause pins to loosen. Discontinue use if abnormalities are found. Dirt and rust can also stain clothing or cause skin irritation, and may degrade the watch's performance.
- Deterioration: Resin bands and bezels can degrade over time if exposed to moisture or stored in humid conditions, leading to breakage.
- Skin Irritation: Some individuals may experience skin irritation or rashes, especially with leather or resin bands. Clean bands frequently. If irritation occurs, discontinue use and consult a dermatologist.
