- Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry and clean.
- Ensure extension cables are suitable for outdoor use and have sufficient capacity. Check for damage and uncoil during use.
⚠️ WARNING If the machine is dropped, suffers heavy impact, or vibrates abnormally, stop immediately and inspect for damage or cause of vibration. Have damage repaired by an authorized service center.
Pruner Safety Warnings
- Never use the pruner during thunderstorms or lightning. Store indoors.
- Ensure all guards and handles are properly fitted and in good condition.
- Ensure a clear work area, secure footing, and a planned retreat path before starting.
- Beware of lubricant mist and sawdust; wear a mask or respirator if required.
- Use a residual current device (RCD) with a tripping current of not more than 30 mA.
- If the power cable is damaged, return the machine to an authorized service center.
- Always hold the pruner with both hands, using the front hand grip and rear handle.
- Hold by insulated gripping surfaces only, as the chain may contact hidden wiring.
- Do not modify the tool or use unapproved attachments.
- Use the provided harness to assist control and support weight.
- Identify and practice using the quick release mechanism for emergency situations. Do not wear additional clothing over the harness that restricts access to the quick release.
- Ensure the saw chain is not contacting any object before starting.
- Check chain tension frequently, especially on a new chain, as an incorrectly tensioned chain can jump off.
- Stop the machine and disconnect from mains before cleaning, clearing blockages, leaving unattended, installing/removing attachments, or performing maintenance.
- Kickback: Occurs when the nose/tip of the guide bar touches an object, or the wood pinches the chain. Can cause sudden reverse reaction. Avoid by understanding kickback, keeping the cutting area free of obstructions, maintaining a firm grip with both hands, not overreaching, using manufacturer-specified bars/chains, and keeping the chain sharp.
- When cutting a limb under tension, be alert for spring back.
- If cutting performance deteriorates, check chain sharpness and replace if necessary.
- If the chain/bar becomes pinched, seek professional advice for removal.
⚠️ WARNING Check shaft couplings on the extension pole and tool before each use.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Safety helmet: Comply with EN 397 and CE marked.
- Hearing protection: Comply with EN 352-1 and CE marked.

Operation – Pruning
- Study tree and branch condition before work. Do not prune damaged or rotten branches.
- Never stand under the branch to be pruned.
- Ensure a safety zone at least twice the length of the branch is clear for falling branches.
- Ensure falling branches do not endanger yourself, bystanders, or property (including utility cables).
- Never operate the tool with the pole at an angle greater than 60° from the horizontal.
- Keep the cutting means at least 10 m from overhead power lines.
- Do not force the tool; let the chain work at its own speed.
- Do not cut too close to the tree trunk; leave about 15 cm from the trunk.
- Rest the saw bar on the branch and push gently. Use the ribbed bumper for stability.
- Small, light branches can be cut with one cut.
- For larger branches, make a cut from underneath (one-third through), then a second cut from above to meet the first.
- Consider pruning large branches in manageable sections.
- Never restart a previous cut; always start a new cut to reduce kickback risk.
Transportation and Storage
- Stop the machine, disconnect from mains, and allow to cool before storing or transporting.
- Clean all foreign material. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place, inaccessible to children. Keep away from corrosive agents. Do not store outdoors.
- Cover the saw bar with the scabbard before storing or transporting.
- For long-term storage (over one month), lightly lubricate the chain to prevent rust. Use Ryobi bar and chain lubricant.
- Secure the machine against movement or falling during transportation.
Maintenance
⚠️ WARNING Use only original manufacturer's replacement parts, accessories, and attachments. Failure to do so can cause injury, poor performance, and void warranty.
⚠️ WARNING Servicing requires expertise; have it performed by a qualified service technician using identical replacement parts. Return to an authorized service center for repair.
⚠️ WARNING The saw chain is very sharp. Exercise extreme caution when cleaning, fitting, or removing the chain scabbard. Always wear protective gloves.
⚠️ WARNING Improper chain maintenance increases kickback potential. Failure to replace or repair damaged chain can cause serious injury.
