Intended Use
The cordless line trimmer is intended for use only by adults who have read and understood the instructions and warnings in this manual and can be considered responsible for their actions. The product is intended for outdoor use in a well-ventilated area and requires two-handed operation for safety. It is designed for cutting long grass, pulpy weed, and similar vegetation at or about ground level, with the cutting plane approximately parallel to the ground surface when trimming and approximately vertical when edging. It is not intended for cutting hedges, bushes, or other vegetation where the cutting plane is not parallel to the ground surface, nor for any other purpose.
General Safety Warnings

Always follow safety rules for your own safety and that of bystanders. Keep instructions for later use. The product is not for use by children or persons with reduced physical, mental, or sensory capabilities. Children must be supervised to ensure they do not play with the product. Check local regulations regarding product use.
Training
- Read instructions carefully and familiarize yourself with controls and proper use.
- Never allow children or unfamiliar individuals to use the product. Local regulations may restrict operator age.
- Keep bystanders, children, and pets at least 15 meters away from the operating area. Turn off the product if anyone enters the area.
- Never use the product when tired, ill, or under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication.
- The operator is responsible for accidents or hazards occurring to others or their property.
Preparation
- Wear full eye and hearing protection. Wear head protection if there's a risk of falling objects. Hearing protection may limit the ability to hear warning sounds; pay attention to potential hazards.
- Wear heavy, long trousers, boots, and gloves. Avoid loose-fitting clothing, short trousers, or jewelry. Do not use with bare feet.
- Secure long hair above shoulder level to prevent entanglement.
- Before and after any impact, check for damaged parts. Defective or worn parts must be repaired or replaced by an authorized service center.
- Ensure the cutting attachment is properly installed and securely fastened.
- Never operate the product unless all guards, deflectors, and handles are properly attached.
- Consider the working environment. Keep the area free from wires, sticks, stones, and debris that could be thrown by the cutter.
Battery Tool Use and Care
- Recharge only with the manufacturer-specified charger. Using an unsuitable charger may create a fire risk.
- Use power tools only with designated battery packs. Other packs may cause injury or fire.
- When not in use, keep battery packs away from metal objects (paper clips, coins, keys, etc.) that could short terminals, causing burns or fire.
- Avoid contact with liquid ejected from the battery under abusive conditions. Flush with water if contact occurs. Seek medical help if liquid contacts eyes, as it can cause irritation or burns.
Line Trimmer Safety Warnings
- Never allow children, persons with reduced capabilities, or those unfamiliar with instructions to use the product.
- Use the product in daylight or with good artificial light.
- Avoid using the product on wet grass.
- Maintain firm footing and balance, especially on slopes.
- Do not walk backward; walk, never run.
- Keep the head attachment below waist level.
- Never use the product with damaged or missing guards.
- Never fit a metal replacement line.
- Keep hands and feet away from the cutting means, especially when turning on the motor.
- Beware: cutting elements continue to rotate after the motor is turned off.
- Beware of thrown objects. Clear debris like small stones, gravel, and foreign objects from the work area before starting. Wires or string can become entangled.
- To reduce injury risk from moving parts, always turn off the product, remove the battery pack, and allow both to cool down. Ensure all moving parts have stopped before: servicing, clearing blockages, checking/cleaning/working on the product, changing accessories, after striking an object, leaving the product unattended, performing maintenance, or if the product vibrates abnormally.

- The small blade on the lawn guard trims the line for safe and optimum performance. This blade is very sharp; do not touch it, especially when cleaning.

- Ensure the cutting head attachment is properly installed and securely fastened.
- Ensure all guards, deflectors, and handles are properly attached.
- Do not modify the product. This may increase injury risk.
- Use only manufacturer's replacement cutting line. Do not use other cutting attachments.
- Immediately turn off and remove the battery pack in case of accident or breakdown. Do not operate until fully checked by an authorized service center.
- Ensure the line cut-off blade in the guard is properly positioned and secured before each use.
Additional Battery Safety Warnings
To reduce the risk of fire, personal injury, and product damage due to short circuits, never immerse the tool, battery pack, or charger in fluid, or allow fluid to flow inside them. Corrosive or conductive fluids (seawater, industrial chemicals, bleach) can cause short circuits.
Transportation and Storage
- Turn off the product, remove the battery pack, and allow both to cool down before storing or transporting.
- Remove all foreign materials from the product.
- Do not store or transport the product with the battery pack fitted. Remove and secure the battery pack separately.
- Store the product in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place, inaccessible to children. Keep away from corrosive agents (garden chemicals, de-icing salts). Do not store outdoors.
- Secure the product against movement or falling during transportation in vehicles to prevent injury or damage.
Transporting Lithium Batteries
- Transport battery packs according to local and national regulations.
- Follow special packaging and labeling requirements when transporting batteries by a third party.
- Protect exposed battery connectors with insulating caps or tape to prevent contact with other batteries or conductive materials. Do not transport cracked or leaking batteries. Consult the forwarding company for advice.
Maintenance
- Use only original manufacturer's replacement parts, accessories, and attachments. Failure to do so may cause injury, poor performance, or void the warranty.
- Servicing requires extreme care and knowledge; it should only be performed by a qualified service technician or an authorized service center.
- Turn off the product and remove the battery pack before any maintenance or cleaning.
- Adjustments or repairs described in this manual can be performed by the user. For other repairs, contact an authorized service center.
- For replacement line, use only nylon filament line of the diameter specified in the manual.
- After each use, clean the product with a soft, dry cloth. Damaged parts must be repaired or replaced by an authorized service center.
- Check all nuts, bolts, and screws for tightness before each use and at frequent intervals to ensure safe working condition. Damaged parts must be repaired or replaced by an authorized service center.
- Bring the product to an authorized service center to replace damaged or unreadable labels.
- Injuries may be caused or aggravated by prolonged use. Take regular breaks when using the tool for extended periods.

Warranty and Declarations
RYOBI Warranty Application Conditions
This product is covered by a warranty. The warranty period is 24 months for consumers, commencing on the date of purchase, documented by an invoice or proof of purchase. The product is for consumer and private use only; no warranty is provided for professional or commercial use. Extended warranty may be available via online registration at www.ryobitools.eu within 30 days of purchase. Consent to data storage and acceptance of terms and conditions are required. The warranty covers defects due to faulty workmanship or material at the purchase date, limited to repair/replacement. It does not cover incidental or consequential damages. The warranty is void if the product is misused, used contrary to the manual, incorrectly connected, improperly maintained, altered, modified, has defaced identification markings, used with improper power supply or fuel mixture, damaged by external influences, or if unauthorized repairs are attempted. Normal wear and tear parts, overloading, non-approved accessories, and consumables (blades, cutting lines, etc.) are not covered. Periodic maintenance like carburetor cleaning is also not covered. Components subject to natural wear and tear (bump knobs, drive belts, clutch, blades, carbon brushes, etc.) are excluded.
For servicing, send the product to an authorized RYOBI service station. Pack safely, mark with sender's address, and include a short description of the fault. Repairs are free of charge and do not extend the warranty period. Exchanged parts become RYOBI property. Statutory rights remain unaffected.
This warranty is valid in the European Community, Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Turkey, Russia, and the United Kingdom. Contact your authorized RYOBI dealer for other regions.
