Intended Use
This product is designed for cutting and pruning small limbs, branches on trees, and shrubs.
General Safety Warnings
Work Area Safety
- Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered or dark areas can lead to accidents.
- Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust. Power tools create sparks that may ignite dust or fumes.
- Keep children and bystanders away while operating the power tool. Distractions can cause loss of control.
Electrical Safety
- Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug. Avoid using adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools.
- Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces like pipes, radiators, ranges, and refrigerators.
- Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions.
- Do not abuse the cord. Keep cords away from heat, oil, sharp edges, or moving parts.
- When operating outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use.
- If operating in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD) protected supply.
Personal Safety
- Stay alert, watch what you are doing, and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use while tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE). Always wear eye protection. Use dust masks, non-skid safety shoes, hard hats, or hearing protection as appropriate.
- Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to a power source or battery pack, or when picking up or carrying the tool.
- Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on.
- Do not overreach. Maintain proper footing and balance at all times.
- Dress properly. Avoid loose clothing or jewelry. Keep hair, clothing, and gloves away from moving parts.
- If dust extraction and collection facilities are provided, ensure they are connected and used properly.
Power Tool Use and Care
- Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application.
- Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off.
- Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery pack from the power tool before making adjustments, changing accessories, or storing the tool.
- Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow untrained persons to operate the tool.
- Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment, binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, or any other condition that may affect operation. Have damaged tools repaired before use.
- Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.
- Use the power tool, accessories, and tool bits in accordance with these instructions, considering working conditions and the work to be performed.
Battery Tool Use and Care
- Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer.
- Use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs.
- When the battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects that could cause short circuits, such as paper clips, coins, keys, nails, or screws.
- Avoid contact with liquid ejected from the battery under abusive conditions. If contact occurs, flush with water. Seek medical help if liquid contacts eyes.
Service
Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts.
Special Safety Rules
- Hold the power tool by insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operation where the cutting accessory may contact hidden wiring.
- Protect your lungs. Wear a face or dust mask if the operation is dusty.
Maintenance
- When servicing, use only identical Ryobi replacement parts.
- Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts, as most plastics are susceptible to damage from commercial solvents. Use clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, and grease.
- Do not attempt to modify the product or create accessories not recommended for use with the product.
LED Charge Indicator
The LED indicator shows the battery status:

Note: The discharging mode refers to operation with no load. In heavy-load conditions, the charge indicator may not be accurate.
Battery Overload Protection
The product has built-in battery overload protection. If overloading is detected, the product will automatically switch off. To resume operation, switch the product off and then on again. If the product fails to operate, the battery pack may be discharged and needs recharging. There is also a thermal protector for the battery cell that monitors temperature. If high temperature is detected, the product will automatically switch off and will not charge. Allow the temperature to decrease before charging.

Operating Instructions
- Personal Protective Equipment: Ensure proper PPE is worn, including eye protection, hearing protection, and gloves.
- Installing the Saw Blade: Align the saw blade with the clamp, insert it, and rotate the clamp to secure the blade.
- Charging the Battery: Open the charge port cover, insert the charger plug into the charge port, and plug the adaptor into a power outlet. The LED indicator will show charging status.
- Using the Pruner: Place the blade on the material to be cut. Squeeze the switch trigger to start cutting. The speed can be adjusted using the variable speed control (turtle/rabbit symbols).
- Removing the Saw Blade: Ensure the tool is switched off. Rotate the clamp to release the blade.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean the tool with a dry cloth. Do not use solvents. Ensure the tool is stored properly.
