Prior to First Use

Rinse Aid Dispenser

The rinse aid is released during the final rinse to prevent water forming droplets on your dishes, which can leave spots and streaks. It also improves drying by allowing the water to roll off the dishes. Your dishwasher is designed to use liquid rinse aids.

The rinse aid dispenser is located inside the door next to the detergent dispenser. To fill the dispenser, open the cap and pour the rinse aid into the dispenser until the level indicator turns completely black. The volume of the rinse aid container is about 110ml.

Attention!

Only use branded rinse aid for dishwashers. Never fill the rinse aid dispenser with any other substances.

When to Refill the Rinse Aid Dispenser

You can judge the amount of rinse-aid by the colour of the optical level indicator “C” which is located next to the cap. When the rinse-aid container is full, the whole indicator will be dark. As the rinse-aid diminishes, the size of the dark dot will decrease. You should never let the rinse aid get below 1/4 full.

  • 3/4 full
  • 1/2 full
  • 1/4 full
  • Empty

Diagram Description: An image shows the rinse aid dispenser area inside the dishwasher door. A circular indicator labeled 'C (Rinse-Aid indicator)' is visible. The indicator shows different fill levels from full to empty.

How to Fill the Rinse Aid Dispenser

Step 1: To open the dispenser, turn the cap to open (left) and lift it out.

Step 2: Pour rinse aid into the dispenser, being careful not to overfill.

Step 3: Replace the cap, then turn it closed (right) to secure it.

Clean up any rinse aid spilled during filling with an absorbent cloth to avoid excessive foaming during the next wash. Do not forget to replace the dispenser cap before you close the door.

Adjusting Rinse Aid

The rinse aid dispenser has six settings. Always start with the dispenser set on 4. If spots or poor drying are a problem, increase the amount of rinse aid being dispensed by rotating the dial to 5. If the dishes are coming out with whitish stains or a bluish film on glassware, reduce the amount. Keep adjusting until the dishes are coming out spot-free.

Diagram Description: A close-up view of the rinse aid adjustment dial, numbered 1 to 6, with an arrow indicating 'Adjust lever (Rinse)'.

Detergent

Detergents have chemical ingredients that are necessary to remove dirt and flush it out of the dishwasher. The dispenser must be refilled before the start of each wash cycle. Generally only one tablespoon of detergent is needed for a normal wash load. More heavily soiled items will need more detergent.

Always add the detergent just prior to starting the dishwasher, otherwise it may get damp and will not dissolve properly.

Adding Detergent to the Dispenser

Step 1: Push the latch to open the detergent dispenser compartment.

Step 2: Fill the detergent dispenser with detergent, following the level markings.

Step 3: Press the lid closed until it locks into place.

Note: A: Main Wash Cycle Detergent, B: Pre-wash Cycle Detergent. For heavily soiled dishes, you can put an additional detergent dose into the pre-wash chamber.

WARNING: Dishwasher Detergent is corrosive! KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN!

Loading the Dishwasher Baskets

Recommendations

  • Consider buying utensils that are identified as dishwasher safe.
  • To prevent damage, do not take glass and cutlery out of the dishwasher immediately after the wash program has ended.

Suitability for use in the Dishwasher

Not Suitable for Use

  • Cutlery with wooden, horn china or mother-of-pearl handles
  • Plastic items that are not heat resistant
  • Older cutlery with glued parts that are not temperature resistant
  • Bonded cutlery items or dishes
  • Pewter or copper items
  • Crystal glass
  • Steel items subject to rusting
  • Wooden platters
  • Items made from synthetic fibres

Limited Suitability

  • Some types of glasses can become dull or cloudy after a large number of washes
  • Silver and aluminium parts have a tendency to discolour during washing
  • Glazed patterns may fade if machine washed frequently

Notes for loading or unloading Dishwasher Baskets

For the best performance from the dishwasher, follow these guidelines:

Scrape off any food particles and soften the remnants of burnt food in pans. In most cases, it is not necessary to rinse the dishes under running water before loading.

Place items in the dishwasher in the following ways:

  • Items such as cups, glasses, pots/pans etc. should be facing downwards.
  • Curved items, or those with recesses should be loaded at a slant to allow water to run off.
  • All utensils should be stacked securely so they cannot tip over.
  • All utensils should be placed in a way that will allow the spray arms to rotate freely.
  • Do not wash very small items in the dishwasher that can easily fall out of the basket.
  • Load hollow items such as cups, glasses, pens etc. with the opening facing downwards so that water cannot collect in the container or deep base.
  • Dishes and items of cutlery must not lie inside one another or cover one another.
  • Long bladed knifes stored in an upright position are a potential hazard! They should be positioned horizontally in the basket.
  • Do not overload your dishwasher. This is important for good results and for reasonable energy consumption.

Loading the Basket

Diagram Description: A diagram illustrates how to load the main dishwasher basket. It shows numbered positions for different types of dishes: 1. Cups, 2. Saucers, 3. Glasses, 4. Dessert dishes, 5. Dinner plates, 6. Soup plates. A separate diagram shows the cutlery basket with numbered positions for 1. Soup spoons, 2. Forks, 3. Knives, 4. Tea spoons, 5. Dessert spoons.

Cutlery Basket

Cutlery should be placed into the basket with the handles at the bottom.

Place most silverware handles down, however knives and other potentially dangerous utensils should be placed with their handles up.

WARNING!

  • Do not let any item extend through bottom.
  • Always load sharp utensils with the sharp point down!

Turning Machine On

  1. Check unit is plugged into a power socket and the socket is turned on.
  2. Pull out the basket, load dishes then push basket back into place.
  3. Pour in required amount of detergent. Close the detergent compartment.
  4. Make sure the water supply is turned on to full pressure.
  5. Press the program button and keep pressing until the wash program you want to use is displayed. (Cycle order: ECO → Glass → 90min → Rapid → Self-Cleaning → Intensive → Heavy)

If a program is selected, the corresponding light will be on. Then press the Start/Pause button to start the wash. Note that if you press the Start/Pause button during a wash, the program light will stop flashing and the dishwasher will make a sound every minute until the Start/Pause button is pressed again and the wash is resumed.

Changing the Program

You can modify the set program if the dishwasher has only just recently started its wash cycle. If the detergent has already been released or washed away, then the detergent dispenser will need to be refilled and the new program set.

To change the program, hold the Start/Pause button for 3 seconds, which will put the dishwasher into standby mode. You can then change the program to the desired cycle setting.

Forgotten to add a dish?

A forgotten dish can be added at any time before the detergent has been released.

  1. Press the Start/Pause button.
  2. Open the door slightly to stop the washing.
  3. Once the spray arms have stopped spinning, you can open the door completely.
  4. Add any forgotten dishes.
  5. Close the door.
  6. Press the Start/Pause button and the dishwasher will recommence cleaning.

At the End of the Wash Cycle

When the wash cycle has finished, a buzzer will sound 8 times, then stop. Turn the dishwasher off using the Power button, then shut off the water supply and open the door of the dishwasher. Wait a few minutes before unloading the dishwasher to avoid burning yourself or accidentally damaging dishes. Leaving the door open immediately after the wash cycle has finished for a few minutes will also result in improved drying.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Filtering System

The filter prevents larger remnants of food or other objects from getting into the pump. The filter consists of a coarse filter, a flat (main filter) and a micro (fine) filter.

Diagram Description: A diagram shows the filter assembly with three parts labeled A, B, and C. Part A is the Main Filter, Part B is the Fine Filter, and Part C is the Coarse Filter.

  • Main Filter (A): Food and soil particles trapped by this filter are pulverised by a special jet on the spray arm and washed down to drain.
  • Fine Filter (B): This filter holds food residue in the sump area, preventing it from being redeposited onto the dishes during a wash cycle.
  • Coarse Filter (C): Larger items such as pieces of bone or glass that could block the drain are trapped in the coarse filter. To remove the items caught by this filter, gently squeeze the top on the top of this filter and lift it out.

The filter efficiently removes food particles from the wash water, allowing it to be recycled during the cycle. For best performance and results, the filter must be cleaned regularly. For this reason, it is a good idea to remove the larger food particles trapped in the filter after each wash cycle by rinsing the filter and cup under running water. To remove the filter assembly, pull the cup handle in an upward direction.

  • Never run the dishwasher without the filters in place.
  • The dishwasher must never be used without the filters.
  • Improper replacement of the filter may reduce the performance level of the appliance and damage dishes and utensils.

Removing the Filter

Step One: Rotate the filter assembly (A, B and C), then lift it all up.

Step Two: Lift B and C up from A.

Step Three: Separate B and C.

Diagram Description: Three sequential diagrams illustrate the filter removal process. Step One shows rotating the assembly. Step Two shows lifting parts B and C from part A. Step Three shows separating parts B and C.

Note: if you perform these steps from 3 to 1, the filter system will be installed.

Inspect the filters for blocking after each time the dishwasher is used. By unscrewing the coarse filter, you can remove the filter system. Remove any food remnants and clean the filters under running water.

The entire filter assembly should be cleaned at least once a week.

Caring for the Dishwasher

The control panel can be cleaned by using a lightly dampened cloth. After cleaning, make sure to dry it thoroughly. For the exterior, you can even use a good quality appliance polish wax.

Cleaning the Door

To clean the edge around the door, you should only use a soft, warm, damp cloth. To avoid penetration of water into the door lock and electrical components, do not use a spray cleaner of any kind.

Cleaning the Spray Arms

The spray arms can be easily removed for periodic cleaning of the nozzles to prevent possible clogging. Wash them under running water and carefully replace them in their seats, checking that their rotary movement is in no way impeded.

Grasp the middle of the spray arm, then pull it upwards to remove it. Wash the arm under a jet of running water, then replace it carefully into its seat. After assembly, check that the spray arm rotates freely.

Diagram Description: An illustration shows the spray arm being removed from its central mounting point.

Keeping your Dishwasher in Shape

After every wash

After every wash, turn off the water supply to the appliance and leave the door slightly open so that moisture and odours are not trapped.

Remove the plug

Before cleaning and performing maintenance, always remove the plug from the socket.

No solvents or abrasive cleaning

To clean the exterior and rubber parts of the dishwasher, do not use solvents or abrasive cleaning products. Only use a cloth with warm soapy water.

To remove spots or stains from the surface of the interior, use a cloth dampened with water with a little vinegar, or a cleaning product made specifically for dishwashers.

When not in use for a long time

It is recommended that you run a wash cycle with the dishwasher empty, then remove the plug from the socket, turn off the water supply and leave the door slightly open. This will help the door seals last longer.

Moving the appliance

If the appliance must be moved, try to keep it in the vertical position. If absolutely necessary, it can be positioned onto its back.

Seals

One of the factors that cause odours to form in dishwashers is that food remains trapped in the seals. Periodic cleaning with a damp sponge with prevent this from occurring.

Installation Instructions

ATTENTION!

The installation of pipes and electrical equipment should be done by qualified professionals. Kogan.com are not liable for any damage or injury caused by improper installations.

Warning
Electrical Shock Hazard
Disconnect electrical power before installing dishwasher.
Failure to do so can result in death or electrical shock.

Preparation

The installation position of the dishwasher should be near the existing water inlet tap and drain outlet and power socket. One side of the cabinet sink should be chosen to facilitate the connection of drain hoses to the dishwasher.

Positioning the Appliance

Position the appliance in the desired location. The back should rest against the wall behind it, and the sides alongside adjacent cabinets or wall. The dishwasher is equipped with water supply and drain hoses that can be positioned to the right or to the left to facilitate proper installation.

Power Connection Warnings

  • Do not use extension cords or powerboard/double adapters with this appliance.
  • Do not leave the power cord positioned in a location where it can be tripped on, clamped in a door or touching a surface that reaches high temperatures.

Electrical Requirements

Please look at the rating label to know the rating voltage, then connect the dishwasher to an appropriate power supply. Use the required 10 amp fuse, time delay fuse or circuit breaker, and provide separate circuit serving for this appliance.

Water Connection

This dishwasher takes a cold water connection. Connect the cold water supply hose to a threaded 3/4” connector, making sure that it is fastened tightly in place. If the water pipes are new or have not been used for an extended period of time, let the water run to make sure that the water is clear and free of impurities. If this precaution is not taken, there is a risk that the water inlet can get blocked and damage the appliance.

Please note: if the supplied hose does not fit your tap, please contact your local plumbing supply center where adapters will be available for purchase.

Diagram Description: An illustration shows a water tap and a hose connection to the dishwasher's inlet pipe.

Drain Hoses

Insert the drain hose into a drain pipe with a minimum diameter of 4cm, or let it run into a sink, making sure to avoid bending or crimping the hose. The free end of the hose must be at a height lower than 30cm and must not be immersed into water to avoid backflow.

Diagram Description: Two diagrams illustrate drain hose installation. The first shows a front view of a sink with a drain pipe connection. The second shows a side view of the dishwasher connected to a drain pipe under a counter, with a height restriction of 30cm indicated.

Draining Excess Water from Hoses

If the sink is more than 300mm higher than the floor, the excess water in the hoses cannot be drained directly into the sink. It will be necessary to drain excess water from hoses into a bowl or suitable container that is held outside and lower than the sink.

Water Outlet

Connect the water drain hose. The drain hose must be correctly fitted to avoid water leaks. Ensure that the water drain hose is not kinked or squashed.

Extension Hose

If you need a drain hose extension, make sure to use a similar drain hose. It must be no longer than 4 metres, otherwise the efficiency of the dishwasher will be reduced.

First Use Checklist

The following things should be checked before starting the dishwasher.

  • The dishwasher is level and securely positioned.
  • The water supply is turned on.
  • Inlet hose connections are fully tightened and not working.
  • The power plug is securely in the power socket.
  • The power is switched on.
  • The inlet water and drain hoses are not tangled or kinked.
  • All packaging and print materials should be taken out of the dishwasher.
