Safety Information and Hazard Symbols

The following symbols indicate potential hazards:

• DANGER (Red symbol with '!'): Indicates an imminently hazardous situation which, if not avoided, will result in death or serious injury.
• WARNING (Orange symbol with '!'): Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in death or serious injury.
• CAUTION (Yellow symbol with '!'): Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, may result in minor or moderate injury.
• CAUTION (Symbol without safety alert): Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, may result in property damage.
• Electrical Hazard (Red, Orange, or Yellow symbol with electrical hazard symbol): Indicates an impending electrical hazard which, if not avoided, may result in personal injury, fire, and/or death.

Risk of Electrical Discharge

• Do NOT swap battery cables; doing so will cause arcing and trip the circuit breaker.
• Do not remove or replace batteries in an oxygen-rich or hazardous environment, as arcing may occur and cause combustion.
• Replace the first battery before removing the second battery to reduce the risk of cables touching terminals and causing arcing.
• Always replace both batteries.
• Replace batteries with the same Amp/Hour rating.
• Only Ergotron-specified batteries are compatible with the StyleView Power System.
• Recycle batteries or contact Ergotron for proper battery disposal guidelines.

Battery Specifications

The power module is configured for two batteries. Compatible batteries are:

For 20 Amp-hour Batteries:

• B&B EVP20-12 (12V)
• SBS S-12220 (F15)
• Longway 6FM20G

Installing batteries other than the specified 20 A-h batteries will void the product warranty and may result in severe damage to batteries, the power module, and potential fire hazard.

For 33 Amp-hour Batteries:

Installing batteries other than the specified 33 A-h batteries will void the product warranty and may result in severe damage to batteries, the power module, and potential fire hazard.

Battery Replacement Procedure

This procedure applies to StyleView SLA carts including SV32-S, SV32-T, SV32, SV32 PHD, and SV42 models.

1. Step 1: Power Down Equipment

   Turn off all mounted equipment. [Power Button Symbol]

2. Step 2: Disconnect Power

   Disconnect the Power System from the power source (unplug the cart's power cord from the wall outlet).

3. Step 3: Turn Off Power System

   Turn the power system off by holding down the AC Outlet Power button for 1-3 seconds. The power light will shut off.

4. Step 4: Switch Circuit Breakers

   If your cart has circuit breakers, switch them both to the "OFF" position. [Circuit Breaker Switch Symbol]

5. Step 5: Battery Removal

   Caution: Replace only one battery at a time. Do NOT swap battery cables, as this will cause sparking and trip the circuit breakers.

   Using a 10mm (3/8") or 8mm (5/16") wrench:

   1. Remove the black (-) battery cable first.
   2. Remove the red (+) battery cable second.

   Dispose of batteries according to local law or contact Ergotron for proper disposal guidelines. [Battery Symbol]

6. Step 6: Battery Installation

   Using a 10mm (3/8") or 8mm (5/16") wrench:

   1. Connect the red (+) battery cable to the new battery first.
   2. Connect the black (-) battery cable second.

   Dispose of batteries according to local law or contact Ergotron for proper disposal guidelines. [Battery Symbol]

7. Step 7: Reset (If Applicable)

   Press the "RESET" button. [Reset Button Symbol]

Initial Power On and Charging

This process takes approximately 7 hours to charge.

1. Step 1: Connect Power

   Plug the cart's power cord into a wall outlet.

   Note: Do not stretch the coiled cord further than 8 feet (2.5 meters), as damage to the cord may occur.

   CAUTION: There is no on/off switch on this equipment; the AC power cord is the only power disconnect. The socket outlet should be easily accessible and installed near the equipment.

2. Step 2: Turn On Power System

   For carts with specific part numbers (e.g., SV32-32001-S to SV32-32052-S): Wake the power system from sleep mode by holding down the two buttons at the same time for about 7 seconds until it beeps. [Two Button Symbol]

   For all other powered StyleView (SV32) carts: Turn on the power system by holding down the power button for 1-3 seconds until it beeps. [Power Button Symbol]

3. Step 3: Charge Battery

   With the cart's power cord plugged into the wall outlet, wait until the cart is at 100% charge. This typically takes up to 7 hours. [Clock Symbol showing 7 hours]

   StyleLink Note: If StyleLink is installed, it will report battery status as "checking" until the battery has completed one full cycle (charge to 100%, discharge to less than 70%, and then plug the cart into the wall outlet). After this cycle, StyleLink will provide battery status. If StyleLink continues to report "checking", repeat the discharge/recharge process.
