Key Components
The Scosche MotorMouth III BTAXS2R is a Bluetooth handsfree car kit. Its main components are:
- Microphone
- Multifunction Button (MFB)
- LED Indicator
- 3.5mm Line-in/Charging Input: Includes a 12VDC charger with a 3.5mm cable and a 5V/1A USB port for charging your cellphone or audio device using its USB charge cable.
- 3.5mm Audio-out Plug: Plugs into your car's 3.5mm AUX-IN jack (required).
The device is a compact, cylindrical unit with a microphone at one end. It features a multifunction button (MFB) and an LED indicator. A 3.5mm input port is located on the side, serving for both charging and line-in audio. A 3.5mm audio output plug extends from the bottom. The numbered labels (1-5) on the device correspond to these components.

Charging the BTAXS2R
The BTAXS2R has a built-in rechargeable battery. Charge it fully before use.
Connect the included 12V charger to a standard 12V power socket and plug the 3.5mm charging cable into the BTAXS2R. The Red LED will remain solid while charging. Full charge takes approximately 1.5 hours. The Red LED turns off when charging is complete.
Low Battery Indicator: When the battery is low, the Red LED flashes once every 30 seconds, accompanied by three "prompt" tones every 30 seconds.
Note: The battery is recyclable. Batteries should not be exposed to excessive heat, such as direct sunlight, fire, or radiant heat.

Note: If no devices are connected within 2 minutes, the BTAXS2R returns to standby mode and continues searching for 2 minutes. To re-pair, turn off the BTAXS2R and re-enter pairing mode.
Pairing the BTAXS2R
Ensure your mobile device is Bluetooth-enabled. Pairing steps may vary by phone model; refer to your phone's user manual.
General pairing steps:
- Plug the BTAXS2R into your vehicle's AUX-IN jack and set your car stereo to AUX mode.
- Place the BTAXS2R in pairing mode (see "Startup Functions").
- Turn on your mobile device's Bluetooth and search for devices. Select "BTAXS2R" from the list.
- If prompted for a password, enter "0000" (this may vary by phone model).
- If prompted to connect, select "Yes" (this may vary by phone model).
- After successful connection, the Blue LED will flash twice every 5 seconds.
Notes:
- If pairing fails, turn off the BTAXS2R and try again from step 1.
- After successful pairing, the BTAXS2R and your mobile device will remember each other. Re-pairing is only needed if pairing information is deleted or the device is "forgotten" in Bluetooth settings.
- The BTAXS2R automatically connects to the last connected device when turned on.
- To pair with a different device, turn off Bluetooth on the current device, then pair the BTAXS2R with the new device following steps 1-6.
Playing Music Through BTAXS2R
- Once connected, press the MFB once to play/pause music.
- Music will pause when a call is received and resume after the call ends.
- Note: Track skipping (next/previous) cannot be done with the BTAXS2R; use your music device for this.
Connecting to Other Music Players via 3.5mm Line-in
- Set your car audio system's input to AUX.
- Connect your music player to the BTAXS2R using a 3.5mm to 3.5mm audio cable.
Note: If connected to both a Bluetooth device and another music player via the 3.5mm line-in simultaneously, the 3.5mm input becomes the primary audio source. Disconnect the 3.5mm cable to resume Bluetooth audio.
The BTAXS2R can also be used at home or in your office by connecting it to any home audio system with a 3.5mm AUX input jack.

Remarks:
- Not all cell phones support all functions. Refer to your cell phone's user manual.
- On some phones, answering a call may transfer it to the phone; manual transfer to BTAXS2R may be needed. Refer to your phone's manual.
- For echo issues, adjust volume or angle of the BTAXS2R.
Re-connecting with a Bluetooth Device
- The BTAXS2R automatically connects to the last connected device when turned on.
- If disconnected, short press the MFB once to re-connect to the last device.
Notes:
- The BTAXS2R only attempts to connect to the last connected device.
- Ensure Bluetooth is active on your device before connecting.
- Some devices (e.g., certain Nokia phones) may require configuration for automatic connection.
Automatic Shutoff: The BTAXS2R will automatically turn off to save power if no devices can be connected within 5 minutes.

Limited Warranty
Scosche Industries Inc. warrants this product to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of 1 year from purchase. This warranty is offered to the original purchaser only.
The warranty does not cover physical damage, negligence, misuse, abuse, alteration, accident, or acts of God. It also does not apply to products damaged by water or physically by accident, or those misused, disassembled, or altered.
Proof of purchase (dated sales slip) is required for warranty eligibility. If the product proves defective within the warranty period, return it with proof of purchase to Scosche Industries Inc. Scosche will, at its option, replace or repair the product free of charge and return it postage paid.
Scosche Industries, Inc. shall not be liable for claims exceeding the replacement value of the defective product or for consequential or incidental damages. No express or implied warranties, other than those set forth, shall apply.
