Decathlon B'Twin SD 500 E Electric Scooter

Important! Read Carefully and Keep for Future Reference

Conditions of Use

Before use, read all instructions and keep them for future reference. Ensure your scooter is in perfect working order.

This scooter is a travel vehicle designed for leisure use. Familiarize yourself with local regulations before use.

Powered by an electric motor.

Designed for users aged 14 and over, if local regulations permit.

Can be used by individuals aged 14 and over, or those with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capacities, or without experience or knowledge, if properly supervised or instructed on safe use and aware of the risks involved. Children must not play with the device. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be performed by children without supervision.

Before each use, verify that all locking devices are engaged (follow assembly instructions), the steering system is correctly adjusted, and all connection elements are tightened and intact.

Check the brake operation before each use.

Regularly check the quality and maintenance of your wheels and bearings. Remove any sharp edges before use.

Ensure all screws are tight before each use, as self-tightening nuts and other fastening devices can lose effectiveness.

Most serious accidents occur in the first months of use; take time to learn the basics of scooter riding.

Ask your store for recommendations on appropriate training organizations.

Due to the skills required, use the scooter with care to avoid falls or collisions that could injure the user or others. Always take care of yourself and others.

Avoid busy, high-traffic areas.

Ride on flat, clean, dry surfaces, away from other road users when possible.

Do not misuse the scooter. Do not modify or tune the scooter.

Do not carry bags or other objects on the front of the scooter.

Regularly check the condition and wear of the brake.

Warning: Like all mechanical appliances, this vehicle is subject to considerable stress and wear. Different materials and components react differently to wear or fatigue. If a component's expected lifespan is exceeded, it can break suddenly, potentially causing injury. Cracks, scratches, or discoloration in high-stress areas indicate the component's lifespan has been exceeded and it should be replaced.

The vehicle is intended for one person only.

Do not use accessories or additional items not approved by the manufacturer.

Always wear protective equipment such as hand/wrist protection, knee pads, and elbow pads. A helmet is also recommended.

According to traffic regulations in France, always wear reflective clothing and a helmet, especially in low visibility conditions (fog, dusk, night).

Always wear shoes.

The sound pressure level of A-weighted emissions does not exceed 70 dB (A).

Any load attached to the handlebar will affect the vehicle's stability.

This vehicle is not intended for acrobatic use.

Use

Warning: The motor and brake can get hot during use. Do not touch them after use to avoid burns.

The motor is activated by the trigger on the handlebars and engages when the scooter's speed exceeds 3 km/h. Braking action turns off the assistance.

Wait for the scooter to come to a complete stop before dismounting.

Warning: The stand does not ensure stability on unstable or sloping terrain.

Control your speed and trajectory to maintain control of the vehicle.

The scooter can be used in free-wheel mode when electric assistance is turned off.

Braking distances may increase in wet weather.

Notify pedestrians or cyclists when approaching if they haven't seen or heard you.

City traffic has obstacles like curbs or steps. Avoid obstacle jumps. Anticipate and adapt your trajectory and speed to pedestrians before crossing obstacles. It is recommended to dismount when obstacles become dangerous due to their shape, height, or slipperiness.

Cross protected passages while walking.

Using walking-pace mode:

Walking-pace mode limits your speed to 6 km/h. Use this mode in areas with pedestrians.

Battery

Switch off the scooter before charging.

Charging should always be done indoors.

For optimal use, perform a full charge followed by a full discharge once a month.

If not in use or infrequently used, recharge the battery completely at least every 6 months to ensure proper function.

Important information:

Ensure the charger is compatible with the local electricity network: Voltage: 100V-240V maximum, Frequency: 50 Hz - 60 Hz.

WARNING! To recharge the battery, use only the removable FY0634201500 power supply unit supplied with the device.

The external flexible cable of this transformer cannot be replaced; if the cord is damaged, the transformer should be discarded.

Charging must be done in the presence of a user and under supervision.

When the scooter reaches the end of its life, return the battery to a store or an authorized recycling center. Do not dispose of the scooter in the countryside.

WARNING! Keep plastic covering away from children to avoid suffocation.

Maintenance

The product must be in <> mode and the charger disconnected during maintenance or cleaning operations.

Provide suitable lighting for scooter maintenance.

Do not clean with a water jet or high-pressure cleaner. Use a slightly damp cloth.

Do not store the scooter in temperatures above 40°C, especially in a car.

This device contains non-replaceable batteries.

Lubrication, brake adjustment, and component replacement/adjustment must be performed by Decathlon After Sales service.

Commercial Battery Warranty:

The battery is guaranteed for 2 years and 300 complete charge/discharge cycles, with a full charge required at least every 6 months.

There is a risk of severe damage to the battery if a complete charge has not been performed for longer than 6 months (not guaranteed).

2-year guarantee subject to normal usage. The guarantee is void if the battery has been opened or modified.

Do not open the battery, motor wheel, sealed cover containing the battery and motor controller, or the sensor on the brake handle.

The guarantee is void if any precautions are ignored.

Never attempt to charge the battery with any charger other than the one supplied.
