ACCUTag Smart Tracker User Guide

Product Overview

The ACCUTag is a smart tracker designed to work with Apple's Find My network. It helps you locate your belongings, such as keys, bags, or luggage, by leveraging Bluetooth technology and the vast Find My network.

Main Functions

When the device is separated from your phone and exceeds the Bluetooth range, it cannot be directly connected via the search app. However, if you enable 'Lost Mode' in the Find My app and enter your contact information, other Apple devices in the Find My network can anonymously detect your tag's location and send you notifications with its latest position.

Frequently Asked Questions

When can the device be targeted by other Apple devices?

When the device is separated from its owner, the Find My Network uses Bluetooth sensors on hundreds of millions of Apple products to report the location of a lost Apple device nearby. When an Apple device on the network detects your lost smart tag nearby, it anonymously reports the approximate location of the lost item to you via the internet.

How to prevent devices from being used for malicious tracking?

If someone else's device is tracking your belongings for an extended period, you will be alerted in two ways: If you own an Apple device (iPhone, iPad, etc.) with iOS 14 or iPadOS 14 or later, you will receive an alert on your device. If you do not have an Apple device, and someone else's smart tag leaves its owner and tracks you for a while, it will emit a sound alert when it moves. These reminders are not triggered if friends are carrying the device or if many people are nearby.

How to protect my privacy?

Only you can see your device's location. Your location data and history are never stored in the smart tag. The devices that report your smart tag's location data remain anonymous, and location data is encrypted at every step of the search. Apple does not know where your device is or who helps find it.

How to replace the battery for the equipment?

You need to use the tool included in the product accessories to gently pry open the upper cover to remove the battery. Battery life is usually one year.

What is a "Find My" network? How does it work?

Apple's Find My Network provides an easy and secure way to find compatible personal items on maps using the Find My app on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Apple Watch. Simply pair your compatible product with Apple's Find My app to view it with your paired Apple device. If your item is lost, you can set it to Lost Mode, allowing it to display messages and contact information to anyone who finds it. The Find My network is encrypted and anonymous, so no one else, including Apple, can view its location.

Important Tips

When the device is paired with the search app, it needs to connect to the Apple server. If pairing fails, the network you are using may not be able to connect to the Apple server temporarily. Recommended operations include: switching your mobile network (e.g., between Wi-Fi and cellular), returning the equipment to factory settings, or repairing with the lookup app.
