Product Overview
The TS4-A-O is an advanced add-on solution designed to bring smart module functionality to standard PV modules. It enhances performance through optimization, enables rapid shutdown capabilities, and provides module-level monitoring.
Key Specifications:
- Maximum power: 700W
- Maximum voltage: 80VDC
- Maximum current: 15ADC
- Maximum system voltage: 1000V / 1500V
Installation must adhere to ANSI/NFPA 70 wiring methods. Modules should not be installed in readily accessible locations (as per Canada regulations). Connectors from different manufacturers cannot be mated with each other.
Note: Collect the TS4 QR code for system mapping to enable monitoring and safety features.
Compliance and System Components
The TS4-A-O is classified as Photovoltaic Rapid Shutdown Equipment, compliant with NEC 690.12 and C22.1-2015 Rule 64-218.
The Tigo Access Point (TAP) is a PVRSE device that maintains a keep-alive signal to the TS4 (attenuator) device via wireless communications. The TAP must be powered from the same circuit as the RSI (Rapid Shutdown Initiator) and linked to the inverter's shutdown.
The device features Class II double insulation and is certified by TÜV Rheinland.
Safety Information
DANGER: High Voltage
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Electricity will be supplied to the Tigo TS4-A output cables immediately when connected to a PV module exposed to sunlight. Use care when handling.
Precautions: When connecting to a PV module exposed to sunlight, electricity will be supplied to the Tigo TS4-A output cables. Handle with care.
ATTENTION! Once connected to a PV module exposed to the sun, the Tigo TS4-A units will allow current to pass. Be vigilant.
IMPORTANT NOTE: When connecting the Tigo TS4-A to an active PV module, the output is immediately live. Please exercise caution when handling.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Pay maximum attention: the output cables of the Tigo TS4-A are already powered with electrical energy when connected to a photovoltaic module exposed to sunlight.
Safety Precautions: When connected to a solar module exposed to sunlight, electricity will flow immediately through the Tigo TS4-A output cables. Please be careful when handling.
Important Matters: When connecting to a solar module exposed to sunlight, electricity will flow through the Tigo TS4-A output cables simultaneously. Please handle with care.
PRECAUTION! Upon connecting the Tigo TS4-A output cables to a photovoltaic module exposed to the sun, electrical current will commence. Handle with care.
Installation Guide
Follow these steps for installing the TS4-A-O:
- Step 1: Module Connection
Connect the input cables of the TS4-A-O to the PV module's positive (+) and negative (-) terminals. The TS4-A-O unit has designated connection points: 1 (PV Module -), 2 (String), 3 (String +), 4 (PV Module +). - Step 2: String Connection
Connect the output cables of the TS4-A-O units in series to form a string. The positive (+) output of one unit connects to the negative (-) input of the next unit in the string. - Step 3: Final String Configuration
Ensure all connections are secure to complete the string.
Installation Notes:
- When installing TS4-A, connect the input cables to the PV module before connecting the TS4-A output cables in series.
- If disconnecting TS4-A, disconnect the TS4-A output cables from the string before disconnecting the input cables from the PV module.
- For installation with frameless modules, remove the metal clips and bolt the TS4-A directly to the rail.
