Dyson V8 Cyclone User Manual
What's in the box
Your machine will come with one or more of these cleaner heads – not all will be included.
Your vacuum cleaner is made up of 3 main parts:
- 1. Main unit
- 2. Cleaner heads/accessories
Simply connect the battery to the main unit, then connect the cleaner head to the other end of the main unit. A 'click' sound indicates secure connection.
Diagram Description: An illustration shows the main components of the Dyson V8 Cyclone: the main unit (containing the motor, bin, and handle), a wand (extension tube), various cleaner heads (Fluffy™ cleaner head, mini motorised tool, crevice tool), a charger, and an optional wall dock.
Main Unit: The central part containing the motor, bin, and handle.
Fluffy™ cleaner head: Features soft woven nylon for large debris and anti-static carbon fibre filaments for fine dust on hard floors.
Mini motorised tool: A compact head with a motorised brush bar for targeted cleaning.
Crevice tool: Designed for narrow spaces.
Wand: The extension tube.
Charger: Used to charge the vacuum cleaner.
Wall dock: For convenient storage and charging.
Some accessories may not be included.
Ensure the bottom of the cleaner head or accessory is clean and free from obstructions to avoid damage.
Refer to the floor manufacturer's cleaning instructions before vacuuming floors, mats, and carpets. Cleaner heads or motorised brush bars may cause damage to certain floor types. Some carpet materials may exhibit 'fuzzing' when using a motorised brush bar. If this occurs, we recommend vacuuming without the motorised cleaner head and consulting your floor supplier's advice.
Getting Started
Operating instructions
Your machine has two easy-to-use buttons. The top button switches the vacuum cleaner on and off, and the bottom button cycles through the suction power modes.
Three power modes
You can switch between three suction power modes using the mode button, depending on the floor type and your cleaning needs.
- Eco Mode: For longer, lighter cleaning.
- Medium Mode: For everyday deep cleaning.
- Boost Mode: For maximum suction power.
Diagram Description: An illustration shows the main unit with two buttons highlighted: the power button (top) and the mode selection button (bottom). Another illustration shows three icons representing the power modes: a single leaf for Eco, two leaves for Medium, and three leaves/flames for Boost.
Cleaning hard-to-reach areas
Remove the wand to convert your vacuum cleaner into a handheld vacuum for cleaning difficult-to-reach areas. Simply attach the desired accessory directly to the inlet.
Diagram Description: An illustration shows the wand being detached from the main unit, and an accessory being attached directly to the main unit. A 'click' sound is indicated.
Charging the product
Before first use, charge the product fully. Connect the charger directly or place it in the charging dock. A full charge takes approximately 4 hours. The LED will pulse according to the charge level while charging and will turn off when charging is complete.

Emptying the bin
Empty the bin as soon as the dirt reaches the MAX line. Do not overfill. Using the vacuum cleaner when the dirt level reaches the MAX line may affect its performance and require more frequent filter washing.
Diagram Description: An illustration shows the bin with a clear indicator line marked 'MAX'.
To empty the dirt
Hold the vacuum cleaner downwards over a bin. Press the red bin release button firmly. The bin will slide down, allowing you to clean the shroud. The bin base will open. If the red bin release button is not pressed fully, the bin base will not open.

Clearing blockages
Your product has an automatic cut-off function. If any part of the product becomes blocked, the motor will vibrate and stop working until the blockage is cleared.
Before checking for blockages, disconnect your cordless vacuum cleaner from the charger. Be careful not to touch the trigger and be aware of sharp objects. Wait for the product to cool down before checking for blockages. Do not use the vacuum cleaner while checking for blockages, as this may cause injury.

Clearing blockages in the mini motorised tool
For optimum performance, regularly check the brush bar of the mini motorised tool for blockages and clear them. Ensure the machine is disconnected from the charger and avoid pressing the power button.
Diagram Description: A warning icon (exclamation mark in a triangle) is displayed. An illustration shows the mini motorised tool with a lock symbol and a brush bar.
Removing the brush bar
Do not put any part of your machine in a dishwasher or use washing-up liquid, polish, or air freshener. Use a coin to open the end cap. Twist the end cap to remove it; do not wash the end cap with water. Slide the brush bar out of the tool.
Diagram Description: An illustration shows a coin being used to turn the end cap, and the brush bar being slid out of the mini motorised tool.

Maintaining your vacuum cleaner
To maintain optimum performance, regularly clean and check for blockages.
Daily maintenance
Regular cleaning of your vacuum cleaner helps ensure its excellent performance. If the body is dusty, wipe with a damp, lint-free cloth.
Battery care
For optimum performance and battery life, only use Boost mode (Max mode) when you need it. The battery is designed to charge whenever it is placed in the charging dock and stops charging automatically once full. This means the battery can be charged whenever it's convenient, which helps maintain battery life. If the ambient temperature is below 5°C (41°F), the machine will not operate or charge. This design protects the battery and motor.
How to find your product serial number
Your vacuum cleaner's serial number is located on the main body, at the back of the bin.
Please enter this serial number when registering your product.
