Wall-mounting Installation Quick Guide

Unpacking

Before using the device, please check the version obtained and ensure that the following items are included in the shipped box:

Product Overview

The front panel of the R20A features an Infrared LED, Infrared sensor, Camera, Microphone, Photosensitive sensor, RF card reader, a Call button with Status LED, and a Speaker.

Installation Environment

Indoor and outdoor installation are supported. If installing the device outdoors, please do not place the device under direct sunlight, as it can cause damage due to high temperatures. If installing the device indoors, keep the device at least 2 meters away from light sources and at least 3 meters away from windows and doors.

Unsuitable locations indicated by ❌: Backlight, Direct sunlight, Direct sun through window, Indirect sunlight through window, Close to light.

Step 1: Wall-mounting bracket Installation

With embedded one-gang junction box (86x86 mm or 2x3 inches in size) in the wall:

For 86x86 mm junction box:
  1. Fix the wall-mounting bracket onto the embedded box using two M4x30 screws.
  2. Mark the two screw holes of the wall-mounting bracket on the wall.
  3. Remove the bracket. Drill two holes on the wall at the marked positions using a 5mm drill bit to a depth of 25mm. Insert two plastic wall anchors.
For 2x3 inches junction box:
  1. Fix the wall-mounting bracket onto the 2x3 inches junction box using two M4x30 screws.
  2. Finish the wall-mounting bracket installation.
  3. Tighten the wall-mounting bracket to the wall and junction box using two ST4x20 screws and two M4x30 screws.

Step 1: Wall-mounting bracket Installation (Without embedded box)

Without 86 embedded box in the wall:

  1. Mark the four holes of the wall-mounting bracket on the wall for the screws.
  2. Use a hand drill with a 5mm diameter bit to make four 25mm depth holes in the marked positions.
  3. Insert four plastic wall anchors into the holes.
  4. Fix the wall-mounting bracket to the wall using four ST4x20 screws.

Step 2: Back cover Installation

  1. For convenient wiring, hang the R20A unit on the wall-mounting bracket using the rope.
  2. Route the cables through the back cover and connect them to the corresponding interfaces on the main board.
  3. Fasten the back cover to the R20A unit using four M2.5x6 screws.
  4. Fix the R20A unit to the wall-mounting bracket using four wall-mounting screws.
  5. After successful installation, check the stability of the device.
  6. Insert the four wall-mounting screws on the device into the corresponding holes on the wall-mounting bracket. Press down to slide the screws into the groove. Use the Allen Wrench to tighten the device with two Allen screws.
  7. Select a suitable size rubber plug to push all cables into the back cover. Fix the cable locking plate to the back cover using two M2.5x6 screws.

Application Network Topology

The R20A can be integrated into various network setups. Supported devices include SIP Video Phone, Indoor Monitor, Network Video Recorder (third party), and PC (third party). Connections are typically made via LAN and PoE (Power over Ethernet).

Device Wiring

The device features a terminal block for wiring. Connections include: Power Input (12V), GND, Exit A/B Input, DOOR A/B, Wiegand Input/Output (WG D0, WG D1), RS485A/B Input/Output, Relay B Output (NC, COM, NO), and Relay A Output (NC, COM, NO). External devices that can be connected include a Voltage Transformer, Elevator Control Device, Door Lock, and Wiegand Card Reader.

⚠️ Warning: When connecting devices with coils (e.g., relays, electromagnetic locks), protect the intercom against voltage peaks by connecting a diode (1A/200V, included) antiparallel to the device.

IP Announcement

To enter IP announcement mode: While the R20A starts up, hold the call button for several seconds after the Status LED turns blue. The IP address will be announced periodically. Press the Call Button again to exit. If no IP address is gained, the announcement will be 'IP 0.0.0.0'.

Configuration

Access the Web User Interface (Web UI) by entering the device's IP address into a web browser.

  1. Account Registration: Navigate to Account -> Basic page to register an account and fill in account information. (Refer to the admin guide for more details).
  2. Push Button Configuration: Navigate to Intercom -> Basic -> Push Button to configure the call number.
  3. Relay Code Configuration: Navigate to Intercom -> Relay -> Relay ID/DTMF and select the DTMF code number.

Operation

Make a call:

  1. Press the call button to call an indoor SIP Phone.
  2. During a call, the called party can press a pre-configured code to unlock the door.

Receive a call:

The R20A supports Auto Answer by default, answering incoming calls automatically.

Indicators

The Status LED indicates the device's state:
