Preparations Guide

High voltages are used in the operation of this product. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not remove the cover of the cabinet. Refer all servicing to the Kogan customer support team.

If you experience any issues with the television at all, do not attempt to repair it yourself as this may cause further damage or serious injury. It will also void your warranty. Contact the Kogan customer support team.

Important Safety Precautions

  1. Read these instructions.
  2. Keep these instructions.

  5. Do not use this apparatus near water.
  6. Clean only with dry cloth.
  7. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
  8. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
  9. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and third grounding prong. The wide blade or third prong are provided for your safety. When the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.
  10. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
  11. Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
  12. Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used, caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury tip-over.
  13. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
  14. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped. Warning to reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this apparatus to rain or moisture.
  15. The apparatus shall be disconnected from the mains by placing the power/standby switch in the standby position and unplugging the power cord of the apparatus from the AC mains receptacle.
  16. The power socket shall be installed near the equipment and shall be easily accessible.
  17. This product should never be placed in a built-in installation such as a bookcase or rack unless proper ventilation is provided or the manufacturer's instructions have been adhered to.
  18. Apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing liquids.
  19. Do not place any sources of danger on the apparatus (e.g. liquid filled objects, lit candles).
  20. Wall or Ceiling Mounting - The appliance should be mounted to a wall or ceiling only as recommended by the manufacturer.
  21. Never place the TV, remote control or batteries near naked flames or other heat sources, including direct sunlight. To prevent the spread of fire, keep candles or other flames away from the TV, remote control and batteries at all times.
  22. The USB terminal should be loaded with 0.5 A under normal operation.

Installed And Connected TV

TV Bracket Assemble

Fix the TV on the wall

  1. First, put the TV facedown on a table carefully, with some soft padding on the table to avoid scratching the screen.
  2. Use a screwdriver to take off the screws which are fixed on the bottom stand (refer to photo 1). Take off the bottom stand carefully.
  3. Prepare one bracket that can fix on the wall according to the size indicated in photos 2 and 3.
  4. Drill four holes properly on the wall (size is for reference only) and insert four screws (optional parts).
  5. As per step 4, use the screwdriver to lock the screw on the back of the TV, then hang the TV on the wall.

Note:

  • The bracket fixed on the wall is an optional part.
  • When you assemble the TV, there should be no other articles attached to the front or sides, and please keep a distance from other articles.
  • When mounting the TV, we recommend the use of a professional installer.
  • The pictures above are only for reference.
  • Please follow the user manual about bracket assemble to fix the TV.
  • Attach the mounting bracket from the VESA compatible wall mounting kit.

TV Buttons And Terminal Interface

TV Buttons

Note: The following is only a functional schematic. The actual position and arrangement of different models may be different.

  • ⏻: Turn ON/OFF Power.
  • SOURCE: External Signal Input Selection.
  • MENU: Display Main MENU And Confirm MENU Item Selection.
  • CH+/-: Selecting Channel.
  • VOL+/-: Adjusting Volume.

Terminal Interface

Note: The following are the various terminal interfaces, the actual position and arrangement, the number of different models may be different.

Interface Description
VIDEO INPUT (R, L) AV input. External AV Signal Input And Relevant Right/Left Sound Channel.
USB USB input. Connect a USB device here to play its media files or to record programs via the PVR function.
Y Pb Pr INPUT Y Pb Pr input. Connect to the composite terminal of your DVD/VCR (Some models without this interface).
HDMI HDMI input. Digital signal input from HDMI video connector.
ANT 75Ω ANT 75. Connect the antenna/cable TV input (75/VHF/UHF).
VGA VGA input. PC analog signal input.
PC AUDIO INPUT PC AUDIO INPUT. VGA input and audio input when VGA input.
EARPHONE EARPHONE output. When earphones are plugged in, speakers are disabled.

External Device Connection Diagram

The diagrams illustrate how to connect external devices such as DVD players and set-top boxes using HDMI or AV connections. It also shows USB connection and TV antenna connection.

  • HDMI Input Connection: Connects DVD players or Set-top boxes to the TV's HDMI port.
  • AV Input Connection: Connects devices via composite video (Yellow) and stereo audio (Red/White) cables. Multiple AV input configurations are shown.
  • USB Connection: Shows a USB port for connecting external storage devices.
  • TV Connection: Shows the connection for an antenna or cable TV.

Install And Connect TV

Set your TV

Place your TV in a sturdy location that can bear its weight. To avoid danger, do not expose the TV to water or hot locations (such as near lights, candles, heaters). Ensure the ventilation at the back of the TV is not blocked.

Connect antenna and power

  1. Connect the antenna cable to the antenna socket on the back of the TV.
  2. Plug the TV's power cord into an AC 100-240V~50/60Hz outlet.

Turn on TV

Press the power button on the TV. The indication light will turn green. If it is on standby mode (light is red), press the power button on the remote control to turn on the TV.

TV Stand Installation Instructions

  1. Open the carton and remove the TV and assorted accessories and base (some models may not include a base).
  2. To avoid damage to the TV, cover the screen with a soft mattress, place it on the table face down on the soft layer, and fix the base of the neck to the TV with screws.
  3. Screw the base and connections to the TV.
  4. The installation is complete.

TV Menu

Input Source

Press the INPUT button to display the input source list. Use the [Up Arrow] / [Down Arrow] or INPUT button to select the desired input source. Press ENTER to confirm the selection. Press EXIT to quit.

Available sources include DTV, ATV, AV, YPBPR, DVD, HDMI, PC, and USB.

Picture Menu

Press the MENU button to display the main menu. Navigate to PICTURE using the [Left Arrow] / [Right Arrow] buttons, then press ENTER / [Down Arrow] to enter.

Use the [Up Arrow] / [Down Arrow] buttons to select an option and the [Left Arrow] / [Right Arrow] buttons to adjust its value. Press MENU to save and return to the previous menu.

  • Picture Mode: Select from presets like Standard, Vivid, etc. (Can also be changed directly with the PMODE button).
  • Brightness/Contrast/Sharpness/Saturation/Hue: Adjusts the visual characteristics of the image.
  • Color Temp: Adjusts the overall color cast (Standard, Cool, Warm).
  • Aspect Ratio: Selects the display format (Auto, Full, 4:3, Zoom1, Zoom2).

PC Setting: For PC input, navigate to PICTURE menu and select PC Setting.

Advanced Settings: Fine-tune advanced video features.

Sound Menu

Press MENU to display the main menu. Navigate to SOUND using [Left Arrow] / [Right Arrow] buttons, then press ENTER / [Down Arrow] to enter.

Use [Up Arrow] / [Down Arrow] to select options and [Left Arrow] / [Right Arrow] to adjust. Press MENU to save and return.

  • Sound Mode: Select audio preset.
  • Treble/Bass/Balance: Adjusts sound frequencies and stereo balance.
  • Surround Sound: Turn On or Off.
  • EQ Setting: Adjusts the 7-band equalizer.
  • AVL: Sets auto volume control (On/Off).
  • SPDIF: Select output mode (Off/Auto/PCM).
  • Audio Description: Enable/disable audio description.
  • Sound Type: Select Stereo, Dual I, Dual II, or Mixed.

Channel Menu

Press MENU to display the main menu. Navigate to CHANNEL using [Left Arrow] / [Right Arrow] buttons, then press ENTER / [Down Arrow] to enter.

Use [Up Arrow] / [Down Arrow] to select options and ENTER / [Left Arrow] / [Right Arrow] to adjust or enter sub-menus. Press MENU to return.

  • Auto Scan: Automatically scans for channels.
  • Manual Scan: Allows for Digital or Analog manual scanning.
  • Channel Edit: Manage existing channels (delete, skip, move).
  • Signal Information: Displays signal details (available under DTV mode).

Lock System Menu

Press MENU to display the main menu. Navigate to Lock System using [Left Arrow] / [Right Arrow] buttons, then press ENTER / [Down Arrow] to enter.

Use [Up Arrow] / [Down Arrow] to select options and ENTER / [Left Arrow] / [Right Arrow] to adjust. Press MENU to save and return.

The default password is 0000. Contact Kogan customer support if the password is forgotten.

  • Enable: Turn lock features On or Off.
  • Channel Locks: Lock specific channels.
  • Parental Rating: Set parental control limits.
  • Lock Keypad: Prevent unauthorized use of TV buttons.
  • Hotel mode: Activate hotel mode settings.
  • New Password: Set a new 4-digit password.
  • Clear Lock: Clear lock settings.

Setup Menu

Press MENU to display the main menu. Navigate to SETUP using [Left Arrow] / [Right Arrow] buttons, then press ENTER / [Down Arrow] to enter.

Use [Up Arrow] / [Down Arrow] to select options and ENTER / [Left Arrow] / [Right Arrow] to adjust. Press MENU to save and return.

  • OSD Language: Set the on-screen display language.
  • Audio Languages: Select primary and secondary audio languages.
  • Subtitle: Configure subtitle settings.
  • Teletext: Adjust Teletext settings (DTV/ATV source only).
  • Mode Setting: Configure operating mode.
  • Time Settings: Set time and date.
  • PVR Settings: Configure Personal Video Recorder settings (requires USB device).
  • First Time Setup: Initial setup wizard.
  • OAD: Over-the-Air Download for firmware updates.
  • Reset: Reset TV to factory defaults.

USB Operation

Before operating the USB menu, plug in a USB device and set the Input Source to USB via the INPUT button.

Use the [Left Arrow] / [Right Arrow] buttons to select USB in the Source menu, then press ENTER. Use [Left Arrow] / [Right Arrow] to select the desired option (Photo, Music, Movie) in the main USB menu, then press ENTER.

DVD

Access the DVD settings menu by pressing the "D. Setup" button. Use the [Left Arrow] / [Right Arrow] buttons to select menu pages (General, Audio, Dolby, Video, Preferences). Use [Up Arrow] / [Down Arrow] to select items within a menu. Press ENTER to select an item or confirm changes. Press [Left Arrow] to return to a submenu, and EXIT to return to the main DVD menu pages.

1. General Setup Page

  • Osd Language: Set the language for the setup menu and screen display.
  • Screen Saver: Enable or disable screen protection.
  • Last Memory: Remember and resume playback from the previous position.

2. Speaker Setup Page

Downmix: Configures DVD L/R and stereo output. Default is stereo output.

3. Dolby Digital Setup

Dynamic: Adjust sound dynamic range.

4. Video Setup Page

Sharpness: Adjust the sharpness of the image.

Brightness: Adjust the brightness of the image.

Contrast: Adjust the contrast of the image.

5. Preference Page

(Note: This menu page will pop up before putting the disc into DVD.)

  • TV Type: Select the local TV system (PAL TV/Multi/NTSC TV).
  • Audio: Disc audio language selection (disc dependent).
  • Subtitle: Disc subtitle language selection (disc dependent).
  • Disc Menu: Disc Menu language selection (disc dependent).
  • Parental: Set the maximum disc rating (Kid Safe/G/Pg/Pg 13/Pgr/R/Nc 17/Adult) that can be viewed without a password (default password is 0000).
  • Password: Change the password.
  • Default: Choose this to restore the original default Preference settings.

Help

This section provides troubleshooting tips for common issues.

Problem Solution
No Power Check that the power supply plug is plugged in or not. If you still have no power, please unplug it then plug it back in, then turn the TV on again.
Signal not being received properly Weak signals can be caused by high buildings or high mountains being located between your antenna and the transmitter. To solve this issue, please try to change the location and direction of your external antenna.
When using an indoor antenna, under certain circumstances receiving a strong signal can be difficult. Please try moving the antenna to different locations in your house and changing the orientation of it. If a strong signal is still not achievable, you may need to use an external antenna.
No picture Check that the antenna cable at the back of the TV is connected properly.
Try another channel to see if the issue is with the particular TV station.
Image is fine, No audio Increase the volume.
Check if the TV is in mute mode. Press the mute button to resume sound.
Audio is fine, Colour showing wrong or no picture Increase contrast and brightness.
Snow and static Check the antenna at the back of TV is connected or not.
Broken lines across screen Check that the batteries in the remote controller are not flat, and that there are no obstacles between you and the infra-red receiver.
Point the remote control towards a digital camera and look at it through the LCD viewfinder while pressing buttons. If you see flashing then the remote is working correctly and the issue may be with the TV receiver. Please contact the Kogan customer support team for information.
The TV will change to STANDBY mode if there has been no signals received from the remote after a few minutes.
The TV is not responding to the remote control Check that the batteries in the remote controller are not flat, and that there are no obstacles between you and the infra-red receiver.
Point the remote control towards a digital camera and look at it through the LCD viewfinder while pressing buttons. If you see flashing then the remote is working correctly and the issue may be with the TV receiver. Please contact the Kogan customer support team for information.

No image in (PC Mode) Check to ensure the display cable is connected to the VGA port correctly.
Check to ensure that there are no bends or twists in the display cable.
Vertical twinkling (PC Mode) Enter the main menu. Use the clock regulator for the Video display noise to eliminate the vertical line.
horizontal ripping (PC Mode) Adjust the Audio sound horizontal in the main menu to clear the horizontal ripping line.
The screen is too bright or too dark (PC Mode) Adjust the contrast ratio or brightness in the main menu.
PC Function no response Check the computer setting in the state of compatible display resolution.
Ripping line in RCA connecting Please use good quality connecting cable.
Problem still exists If no troubleshooting ideas assist you with the issue, please unplug the television and contact the Kogan customer service team. Do not attempt to repair the television yourself.

Remote Controller

Battery Installation: Remove the battery compartment lid on the rear of the remote control by sliding the lid down, then off. Put two AAA batteries inside the battery compartment with their + and - ends aligned as indicated. Do not mix old and new batteries or different types of batteries. Slide the lid until you hear it click into place.
