NORTHBAYOU Monitor Arm Troubleshooting Guide

Arm is too rigid

Question: The arm is too rigid, I couldn't move or press it.

Answer: For NORTHBAYOU gas spring arm mounts, you need to finish the installation first and attach the monitor onto the mount. Then, clamp the screen to press the arm.

Diagram Description: Illustrates two states of the gas spring arm. The first state shows the arm without a monitor, labeled 'Not onto wall, No monitor', indicating it's difficult to press by hand [❌]. The second state shows the arm with a monitor attached, indicating it can be pressed after installation [✔️].

Torque Adjust Hole Not Reachable

Question: The torque adjust hole is not able to reach.

Answer: First, finish the installation and attach the monitor onto the mount. Second, press the arm down, and then the hole will become accessible.

Diagram Description: Shows a monitor mount with a torque adjustment screw. One image depicts the arm in an uninstalled state where the hole is not visible, with text 'press by hand'. The second image shows the arm installed and pressed down, revealing the adjustment hole.

VESA Plate Position Adjustment

Question: The VESA plate is not at the correct position.

Answer: The VESA plate can rotate 360°. To adjust, catch the screen and rotate the plate.

Diagram Description: Shows a VESA plate on a monitor. Text indicates that while rotation by hand is possible, it's easier to adjust the position by holding the screen and rotating.

Monitors Without VESA Holes

Question: My monitor does not have VESA holes, even after removing its stand.

Answer: For monitors without VESA holes, you need to order a compatible clamp mount, such as the FP-1(H1) model, which clamps the screen directly.

Diagram Description: Illustrates two mounting solutions for monitors. One shows a clamp-style mount (FP-1(H1)) designed for monitors without VESA holes. The other compares a standard VESA mount (marked with 'X' [❌]) with a clamp mount (marked with '√' [✔️]), indicating the clamp mount is the suitable option for this scenario.

Monitor Arm Staying Position

Question: The arm cannot stay in position; it goes up automatically.

Answer: The cause is that the torque setting is too high for your monitor's weight. Please reduce the torque by turning the adjustment screw towards the '-' direction.

Question: The arm cannot stay in position; it goes down automatically.

Answer: The cause is that the torque setting is too low for your monitor's weight. Please increase the torque by turning the adjustment screw towards the '+' direction.
