2. Structure
The UTi260B features a user-friendly design with clearly labeled components:
- 1. Upper casing: Houses the main electronic components.
- 2. USB (Type-C) interface: For data transfer and charging.
- 3. SD card slot: For storing captured images.
- 4. Lower casing: Provides structural support and houses the battery.
- 5. Interface cover: Protects the USB and SD card slots.
- 6. LED light: Provides illumination for dark environments.
- 7. Infrared camera lens: Captures thermal radiation.
- 8. Visual light camera lens: Captures visible light images.
- 9. Trigger: Initiates image capture.
- 10. LCD display: Shows the thermal images and menu options.
- 11. Power button: Turns the device on/off.
- 12. Flashlight button: Activates the LED light.
- 13. Left button: Navigates menu options.
- 14. Down button: Navigates menu options.
- 15. Up button: Navigates menu options.
- 16. Replay button: Accesses the image gallery.
- 17. Right button: Navigates menu options.

3. Display
The device features a 2.8-inch TFT LCD display with a resolution of 320 (vertical) x 240 (horizontal) pixels, providing clear visuals of thermal data.
The display shows:
- 1. Center point temperature: Real-time temperature at the center of the screen.
- 2. Maximum temperature: The highest temperature detected.
- 3. Maximum temperature point: The location of the maximum temperature.
- 4. Minimum temperature point: The location of the minimum temperature.
- 5. Main menu: Access to device settings and functions.
- 6. Region of interest (ROI): A user-defined area for temperature analysis.
- 7. Maximum temperature point in ROI: The highest temperature within the ROI.
- 8. Temperature bar: Visual representation of the temperature scale.
- 9. Battery status: Indicates the remaining battery power.
- 10. Date and time: Displays the current date and time.
- 11. Maximum temperature in ROI: The highest temperature within the ROI.
- 12. Calibrating...: Indicates the device is undergoing calibration.
4. Power On/Off
Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to turn the device on or off. For optimal performance, allow the device to acclimate to the environment for 20 minutes before measuring after a long period of inactivity or environmental change.
Note: The shutdown process takes 5-6 seconds. Avoid frequent power cycling to prevent potential damage.
5. Measurement
The UTi260B offers various measurement modes:
- Center Spot: Displays the temperature at the center of the screen.
- Hi-Lo Spot: Shows the maximum and minimum temperatures detected.
- ROI (Region of Interest): Allows users to define an area for temperature analysis.
To access these modes:
- Press the SET button to open the main menu.
- Use the left/right buttons to navigate to the desired option.
- Press the SET button to enter the Measurement menu.
- Use the up/down buttons to select Center Spot, Hi-Lo Spot, or ROI.
- Press the SET button to enable or disable the selected measurement point.
- Press the back button to exit.
6. Palette
The device supports multiple color palettes to enhance thermal visualization:
- Iron
- Rainbow
- White Hot
- Red Hot
- Black Hot
- Lava
- Rainbow HC
To change the palette:
- Press the SET button to open the main menu.
- Use the left/right buttons to navigate to the Palette option.
- Press the SET button to enter the Palette menu.
- Use the up/down buttons to select the desired palette.
- Press the SET button to apply the selected palette.
- Press the back button to exit.
7. Point Temperature
Measure the temperature at specific points on the thermal image:
- Press the SET button to open the main menu.
- Use the left/right buttons to select the desired option.
- Press the SET button to enter the Point Temperature menu.
- Use the up/down buttons to select the desired point.
- Press the SET button to activate the point and enter the thermal imaging page. Use the left/right/up/down buttons to move the point. Press the SET button to confirm the point and read its temperature.
- Press the SET button again to turn off the selected point.
- Press the back button to exit.
8. Image Mode
Switch between different imaging modes to suit your needs:
- Thermal: Displays the infrared thermal image.
- Digital: Displays the visual light image.
- Fusion: Blends thermal and visual light images. The blending ratio can be adjusted from 0% (pure visual light) to 100% (pure infrared).
- PIP (Picture-in-Picture): Displays a smaller thermal image within the visual light image.
To change the image mode:
- Press the SET button to open the main menu.
- Use the left/right buttons to select the Image Mode option.
- Press the SET button to enter the Image Mode menu.
- Use the up/down buttons to select the desired mode.
- Press the SET button to apply the current mode.
- Press the back button to exit.
- For Fusion mode, use the left/right buttons to adjust the blending ratio (0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%).
- If Alignment Distance is selected, set the alignment distance (in meters) for the fusion target (0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, or >3.0).
9. Settings
Access the settings menu to customize device parameters:
- Press the SET button to open the main menu.
- Use the left/right buttons to select the Settings option.
- Press the SET button to enter the Settings menu.
- Press the back button to return to the previous menu.
9.1 Language
Select the display language:
- Navigate to the Language option in the Settings menu.
- Press the SET button to enter the Language submenu.
- Use the up/down buttons to select English or Chinese.
- Press the SET button to confirm.
- Press the back button to exit.
9.2 Date and Time
Set the device's date and time:
- Navigate to the Date and Time option in the Settings menu.
- Press the SET button to enter the Date and Time submenu.
- Use the left/right buttons to select the parameter to adjust (Date or Time).
- Press the SET button to enter the parameter adjustment state.
- Use the up/down buttons to increase or decrease the value.
- Press the SET button to save the settings.
- Press the back button to exit.
9.3 Temperature Unit
Choose the preferred temperature unit (°C or °F):
- Navigate to the Temperature Unit option in the Settings menu.
- Press the SET button to enter the Temperature Unit submenu.
- Use the up/down buttons to select °C or °F.
- Press the SET button to confirm.
- Press the back button to exit.
9.4 HI/LO Alert
Configure high and low temperature alerts:
- Navigate to the HI/LO Alert option in the Settings menu.
- Press the SET button to enter the HI/LO Alert submenu.
- Use the up/down buttons to select and set the desired HI or LO temperature parameter.
- Use the up/down buttons to adjust the temperature value.
- Select other options to enable or disable the alerts.
- Press the back button to exit.
9.5 Temperature Scale
Select the temperature measurement scale:
- Navigate to the Temperature Scale option in the Settings menu.
- Press the SET button to enter the Temperature Scale submenu.
- Use the up/down buttons to select the desired option (High-gain or Low-gain).
- Press the SET button to save the current setting.
- Press the back button to exit.
Note: Switching the temperature scale takes approximately 30-40 seconds. Wait for stabilization before proceeding.
High-gain: -20°C~150°C
Low-gain: 150°C~550°C
9.6 Measurements
Adjust measurement parameters:
- Navigate to the Measurements option in the Settings menu.
- Press the SET button to enter the Measurements submenu.
- Use the up/down buttons to select Emissivity, Ambient Temp, or Distance.
- Press the SET button to enter the parameter adjustment state.
- Use the up/down buttons to increase or decrease the value.
- Press the SET button to save the current setting.
- Press the back button to exit.
Note on Emissivity: Emissivity is the ratio of the measured object's radiant energy to that of a black body at the same temperature. It ranges from 0.00 to 1.00.
Note on Ambient Temperature: This is the ambient temperature where the thermal camera and the object are located.
Note on Measurement Distance: This is the distance between the thermal camera and the measured object.
Note on Relative Humidity: This indicates the water vapor content in the air affecting radiant energy transmission.
Recommended Values:
- Emissivity: 0.95
- Ambient Temp.: 25°C
- Relative Humidity: 55%RH
- Distance: 0.25m
9.7 Display Brightness
Adjust the screen brightness:
- Navigate to the Display Brightness option in the Settings menu.
- Press the SET button to enter the Display Brightness submenu.
- Use the up/down buttons to select the desired brightness level (Low, Medium, High).
- Press the SET button to confirm.
- Press the back button to exit.
9.8 Auto Power Off
Configure the auto power-off timer:
- Navigate to the Auto Power Off option in the Settings menu.
- Press the SET button to enter the Auto Power Off submenu.
- Use the up/down buttons to select the desired interval (5 Minutes, 10 Minutes, 30 Minutes, Off).
- Press the SET button to confirm.
- Press the back button to exit.
9.9 USB Mode
Select the USB connection mode:
- Navigate to the USB Mode option in the Settings menu.
- Press the SET button to enter the USB Mode submenu.
- Use the up/down buttons to select USB Disk or USB Camera.
- Press the SET button to confirm.
- Press the back button to exit.
Note: USB Disk mode allows browsing and analyzing images on a PC. USB Camera mode enables real-time image projection when connected to a PC.
9.10 System Settings
Access system settings:
- Navigate to the System Settings option in the Settings menu.
- Press the SET button to enter the System Settings submenu.
- Use the up/down buttons to select the desired setting option.
- Press the SET button to enter submenus.
- Press the back button to return to the previous menu.
9.10.1 Device Information
View device details:
- Select Device Information in the System Settings submenu.
- Press the SET button to view detailed information.
- Press the back button to exit.
Note: Capacity refers to the current storage capacity of the SD card.
9.10.2 Factory Reset
Restore factory settings:
- Select Factory Reset in the System Settings submenu.
- Press the SET button to enter.
- Use the up/down buttons to select Yes.
- Press the SET button to confirm.
- Press the back button to exit.
Note: Avoid interrupting the factory reset process to prevent errors.
9.10.3 Format SD Card
Format the SD card:
- Select Format SD Card in the System Settings submenu.
- Press the SET button to enter.
- Use the up/down buttons to select Yes.
- Press the SET button to confirm.
- Press the back button to exit.
Note: Do not remove or insert the SD card during formatting to avoid program errors.
9.10.4 Auto Save
Configure auto-save settings:
- Navigate to the Auto Save option in the Settings menu.
- Press the SET button to enter the Auto Save submenu.
- Use the up/down buttons to select Yes or No.
- Press the SET button to confirm.
- Press the back button to exit.
Note: It is recommended to save no more than 1,000 pictures to maintain optimal performance. Clean the SD card regularly.
10. Temperature Compensation and Calibration
Manual temperature compensation can be adjusted for different environments. Refer to section 9.6 Measurements for setting details. Manual temperature calibration can be performed to improve measurement stability. To calibrate, press the back button on the main measurement interface.
11. Image Viewing
Browse and manage captured images:
- Press the replay button to enter the gallery.
- Use the directional buttons to select an image.
- Press the SET button to view the image in full screen.
- In full screen mode, press the SET button to delete the image or view its information.
Note: Do not remove or insert the SD card while viewing images.
12. Image Capture
Capture thermal images:
- Pull and release the trigger to capture an image.
- In manual save mode, use the left/right buttons to discard or save the image, and press SET to confirm or Back to return.
- In auto save mode, the image is saved automatically.
Note: Images can only be saved if an SD card is installed.
13. LED Light
Press and hold the flashlight button for 3 seconds to turn the LED light on/off. The LED light will flash if the temperature alert is active and the measured temperature exceeds the set range.
Note: Avoid pointing the LED light directly at eyes.
14. USB Communication and Image Projection
Connect the UTi260B to a PC for data transfer and real-time image projection:
- Download and install the UTi Thermal Analyzer PC software.
- Connect the device to the PC using the USB cable.
- Set the USB mode to USB Disk for browsing and analysis, or USB Camera for real-time projection.
- Refer to the Software User Manual for detailed PC software instructions.
Note: Do not unplug the USB cable during image projection. Close the PC software before unplugging the cable.
15. SD Card
The device supports Micro SD cards for image storage. Regularly back up data and clean the SD card to maintain optimal performance. Avoid repeatedly inserting or removing the SD card; perform these actions when the device is powered off.
16. Charging
Use a safety-certified 5V/1A or 5V/2A power adapter for charging. Avoid turning off the device during charging. If a restart is necessary, unplug the Type-C power cord first.
17. Maintenance
Clean the device exterior with a damp cloth and mild soap solution. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, isopropyl alcohol, or solvents on the casing, lens, or window.
18. Safety Instructions
Read the following safety instructions carefully before use:
- Do not use the product in flammable, explosive, steamy, wet, or corrosive environments.
- Discontinue use if the product is damaged, dropped, or modified, as this may lead to inaccurate measurements.
19. Notice for Use
- Ensure correct emissivity settings for accurate temperature readings.
- Warm up the device for 20 minutes before measuring if it has not been used for a long time.
- Avoid taking measurements during or immediately after charging, as internal temperature rise can affect accuracy.
- The product features self-calibration. If readings fluctuate, wait for stabilization before proceeding.
