- Avoid dropping metal tools onto the battery.
- Perform jump-starting in a safe, well-ventilated area.
- Never touch battery clamps together.
- Keep clamps, clothing, and body parts away from moving vehicle parts.
- Never allow red and black clamps to touch each other or a common metal conductor.
- If clamps are connected incorrectly, the unit will sound an alarm and display reverse polarity icons. Disconnect and reconnect with correct polarity.
- Always disconnect the negative (black) cable first, then the positive (red) cable.
- Do not expose battery to fire or intense heat.
- Place the unit as far from the battery as cables permit.
- Never allow battery acid to contact the unit.
- Do not operate in a closed area or restrict ventilation.
- This system is designed for 12-volt DC battery systems only.
- Do not use as a replacement for a vehicular battery.
- Excessive engine cranking can damage the starter motor. Discontinue if the engine fails to start after recommended attempts.
- Do not use on watercraft.
