DC Inverter Dehumidifier DOE Test Procedure Instruction

For DC Inverter Dehumidifier models, follow these steps to operate test modes:

  1. Press the POWER button ⏻ to turn on the unit.
  2. Hold the CLEAN FILTER and PLUS (➕) buttons simultaneously for about 3 seconds. The unit will display F1 and operate Test Mode 1 according to the 10 CFR 430, Subpart B, Appendix X test procedure.
  3. Hold the CLEAN FILTER and MINUS (➖) buttons simultaneously for about 3 seconds. The unit will display F2 and operate Test Mode 2 according to the 10 CFR 430, Subpart B, Appendix X1 test procedure.
  4. Press the POWER button ⏻ or unplug the power supply to quit the Test Mode.

Note: All buttons will have no feedback in Test Mode except POWER, CLEAN FILTER, PLUS (➕), and MINUS (➖) buttons.

Recommended Grounding Method

This dehumidifier must be grounded via its three-prong plug into a mating, grounded three-prong outlet, in accordance with local codes and ordinances. If a mating outlet is not available, it is the customer's responsibility to have a properly grounded outlet installed by a qualified electrician.

Dehumidifier Use

Setting the Controls

Control Panel: Descriptions of Control Type 1 and Control Type 2. Note that panels may vary, and the pump button may not be present on all models.

Starting/Stopping the Dehumidifier

Note: The dehumidifier should be upright for at least 2 hours before use ⚠️.

Note: Ensure the bucket ? is empty and properly seated before turning on. Controls retain last settings after power interruption. Humidity is displayed between 30%-90% RH and can be set between 30%-80% RH. For energy efficiency, use in a closed space. Operating temperature range: 38°F-90°F (3.2°C-32.2°C). Freezing occurs below 38°F; product shuts down above 90°F. Compressor has a 3-minute delay before restarting.

Steps:

  1. Plug into a grounded three-prong outlet ?.
  2. Press POWER ⏻ to turn on.
  3. Press FAN ? to select fan speed (LOW, MED, HIGH).
  4. Press MODE to select desired humidity mode (AUTO DRY, CONTINUOUS/SUPER DRY, MANUAL SET).
  5. Press PLUS (➕) or MINUS (➖) to set the desired humidity level.
  6. Press POWER ⏻ to turn off.

Note: The dehumidifier will retain your last settings.

Empty Bucket Light

If this light is on, the fan and compressor stop. Check if the bucket ? is full and needs emptying, or if it is not properly seated. Ensure the bucket fits all the way in.

Fan Speed

Select fan speed: LOW (quieter), MED (normal), HIGH (faster). The fan ? may periodically turn on to read humidity levels without the compressor running.

Desired Humidity-Mode

Select mode:

Note: De-icing function may stop the compressor temporarily. Freezing is normal at low temperatures.

Power

Press POWER ⏻ to turn the dehumidifier on or off.

Quiet

Operates in lower noise mode. Quiet mode exits if Mode or Fan speed is changed.

Humidity Level

Use PLUS (➕) or MINUS (➖) buttons to set desired humidity. The display shows the set value for 5 seconds, then the actual room humidity. Humidity is only adjustable in Manual Set mode.

Digital Display

Shows relative humidity (in Manual Set mode) or timer settings. Display is for reference; use a hygrometer for accuracy.

Timer

Set a 30-minute to 24-hour delay before the dehumidifier turns OFF (unit must be ON).

To clear the timer program: Press TIMER ⏰ twice.

To see remaining time: Press TIMER ⏰ once.

Note: Empty the water bucket ? before setting the timer. If the bucket becomes full, the Bucket Full light activates, and dehumidification stops.

Pump (for Pump function model only)

This feature pumps water horizontally or vertically using a hose (up to 16 feet). Water can be pumped to a drain, out a window, or elsewhere.

Important: Connect the drain hose before pressing the PUMP button ?. If the pump does not operate, refer to "Trouble shooting".

Press PUMP ? to activate; the pump light will switch on.

Note: A flashing pump light indicates a malfunction. Check hose connection and ensure it's not bent.

Site for installing hose for pump function:

Water Container. Hose length is 16 feet Max. Height should be less than 16 feet.

Connector Types:

Instructions are provided for Connector Type 1 and Connector Type 2 for connecting the drain hose.

Clean Filter

When the Clean Filter indicator light is on, remove, clean, and replace the air filter. Press the Clean Filter button ?️ to reset the filter monitor.

Note: The indicator stays on for 180 hours or until reset.

Filter Cleaning Steps:

  1. Unplug the unit ?.
  2. Remove the bucket ?.
  3. Remove the plastic nut, sealing bolt, and take the filter off.
  4. Clean the filter with a soft brush or wash in water with a mild detergent if very dirty. Clean every 3 months.
  5. Re-install the filter, sealing bolt, and plastic nut correctly.
  6. Re-install the bucket ?.

Note: Place a draining dish under the unit before removing the filter. Do not wash the filter in a dishwasher or use chemical cleaners. Air dry completely.

Warning: Take care not to injure hands while disassembling and re-installing filter parts ⚠️.

Note: If the unit is stored for a period, clean the filter and drain the dehumidifier completely. Service calls to clean the filter are not covered by warranty.

Dehumidifier Care

This section explains how to clean and care for your dehumidifier. To avoid compressor damage, never store or ship the appliance upside down or sideways.

Cleaning the Air Filter

The air filter is removable for easy cleaning. A clean filter improves operating efficiency. Check the filter every two weeks.

  1. Turn off the dehumidifier.
  2. Remove the air filter.
  3. Take out the air filter.
  4. Clean the filter with a vacuum cleaner or wash in warm water with mild detergent if dirty.
  5. Reinstall the air filter and air intake grill.
  6. Turn on the dehumidifier.

Note: Do not wash the air filter in a dishwasher or use chemical cleaners. Air dry completely.

Cleaning the Dehumidifier

Exterior
  1. Turn off the dehumidifier and unplug the power cord ?.
  2. Dust the surface with a soft cloth or vacuum attachment.
Water Bucket

Rinse the inside of the water bucket ? every few weeks with a mild detergent to prevent mold, mildew, and bacteria growth.

Water level float

The dehumidifier has an EMPTY BUCKET light and a water float. The bucket ? must be properly aligned for the float and light to work correctly. Ensure the float is snapped correctly in place.

Trouble Shooting

Before calling for service, try these suggestions:

Dehumidifier will not run

Dehumidifier runs but does not dehumidify

Ice forms on coils

All models have an automatic de-icing function that shuts off the compressor and runs the fan ? to reduce ice build-up. The compressor will restart when the correct temperature is sensed.

Air coming from the dehumidifier is warm

This is normal operating condition.

Dehumidifier displays error codes

Contact Hisense customer service.

Pump system does not work
