1. General Safety Rules

This appliance is intended for household and similar applications, including staff kitchen areas, farm houses, hotels, motels, and bed and breakfast environments. Commercial use by experts or trained users is excluded. Inconsistent use may reduce appliance life and void the warranty. Any damage arising from non-domestic use is not accepted by the manufacturer.

Children aged 8 and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, can use the appliance if given supervision or instruction. Children must not play with the appliance, and cleaning/maintenance should not be done by unsupervised children. Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance. Children under 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised.

If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, service agent, or qualified persons to avoid hazards. Only use supplied hose-sets for water supply connection. Water pressure must be between 0.05 MPa and 0.8 MPa. Ensure carpets or rugs do not obstruct ventilation openings.

The OFF condition is achieved by setting the programme control/knob to the vertical position. Any other position typically turns the machine ON.

After installation, the appliance must be positioned so the plug is accessible. The maximum load capacity depends on the model. Refer to the manufacturer's website for technical specifications.

Safety Instructions:

  • Before cleaning or maintenance, unplug the appliance and turn off the water tap.
  • Ensure the electrical system is earthed; seek professional assistance if not.
  • Do not use converters, multiple sockets, or extension cords.
  • WARNING: Water may reach very high temperatures during the wash cycle.
  • Ensure there is no water in the drum before opening the door.
  • Do not pull the power cord or appliance to unplug.
  • Do not expose the washing machine to rain, direct sunlight, or other weather elements; protect from freezing.
  • When moving, do not lift by knobs or detergent drawer; never rest the door on the trolley. Two people are recommended for lifting.
  • In case of fault or malfunction, turn off the machine, close the water tap, and do not tamper. Contact the Customer Service Centre and use only original spare parts.

By placing the CE mark on this product, Hoover confirms compliance with relevant European safety, health, and environmental requirements.

2. Installation

Transportation Screws: Release the power chord and drain hose from the securing clip. Remove the 2 or 4 transportation screws (A) from the back, along with flat washers, rubber bungs, and plastic spacer tubes (B), as illustrated in Figure 1. For built-in machines, remove 3 or 4 screws (A) and corresponding parts (B). Spacer tubes may fall inside; tilt the product forward to recover them. Cover open screw holes with supplied plastic caps.

WARNING: Keep packaging materials away from children.

Base Placement: Place the corrugated plastic sheet, found on top during unpacking, into the base of the appliance as shown in Figure 2 (versions A, B, or C).

Hydraulic Connections: Connect the water hose to the supply tap using only the supplied hose (do not reuse old ones). Some models may have HOT&COLD connections (Figure 4) for energy savings, using grey for cold and red for hot taps. If only cold water is used, some programs may start later. AQUASTOP (Figure 5) is a device on the supply tube that stops water flow if the tube deteriorates; a red mark in window 'A' indicates replacement is needed. Press lock device 'B' to unscrew the nut. AQUAPROTECT (Figure 6) features a containment sheath 'B' to hold leaks from the internal tube 'A' and allow cycle completion; contact Customer Service for replacement.

Setting: Install the machine so the water fill hose is not kinked. Insert the drain hose into a drain pipe 50-85 cm high using the support. For under-sink connections, route the hose above the sink overfill opening to prevent back siphoning. Avoid kinking or trapping the drain hose (Figure 7).

Levelling: Level the appliance using the feet as shown in Figure 8. Turn the nut clockwise to release the screw, rotate the foot to adjust height, and lock the foot by screwing the nut tight against the machine base.

Plug In: Plug in the appliance. Contact Customer Service if the power cord needs replacement.

Detergent Drawer: The drawer has 3 compartments (Figure 9): '1' for prewash detergent, ' ' for additives (softeners, fragrances), and '2' for washing detergent. WARNING: Only use liquid products for compartment ' '. A liquid detergent cup (Figure 10) can be used in compartment '2' for timed dispensing or bleach with the 'Rinse' program. WARNING: Some detergents require their own dispenser placed directly in the drum.

WARNING: Installation faults are not covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

3. Practical Tips

Load Tips: When sorting laundry, ensure:

  • Metallic objects (hair clips, pins, coins) are removed.
  • Pillow cases are buttoned, zips closed, belts tied, and long ribbons secured.
  • Rollers, hooks, or clips are removed from curtains.
  • Clothing washing labels are read carefully.
  • Persistent stains are treated with specific detergents.

For heavy items like rugs or bedcovers, avoid the spinning cycle. For wool items, ensure they are machine washable and marked with the 'Pure virgin wool', 'Does not mat', or 'Machine washable' label.

Helpful Suggestions: For environmentally friendly and economic use, maximize load size. Washing a full load instead of two half loads can save up to 50% energy, water, detergent, and time.

Pre-wash: Only for heavily soiled laundry. Skipping pre-wash for slight to normally soiled laundry saves 5-15% energy, detergent, time, and water.

Hot Wash: For heavily soiled whites, use programs at 60°C or above with a heavy-duty powder detergent containing bleaching agents. For washes between 40°C and 60°C, use appropriate detergents for fabric type and soiling level (normal powders for whites/colour-fast, liquids/colour-protecting for coloured fabrics). For washes below 40°C, use liquid detergents suitable for low temperatures. For wool or silk, use specialized detergents.

Stain Treatment: Pretreat stains with remover or soak to reduce the need for hot washes. Using a 60°C wash program can save energy.

4. Maintenance and Cleaning

Clean the washing machine exterior with a damp cloth, avoiding abrasives, alcohol, or solvents. Regularly clean the soap drawer and pump filters for optimal performance. A monthly service wash with a proprietary cleaner is recommended.

Drawer Cleaning: Clean the drawer to prevent detergent residue. Extract it, clean with running water, and reinsert. Ensure the siphon cap is refitted correctly.

Filter Cleaning: The machine has a special filter to trap large residue. On some models, pull out the corrugated hose, remove the stopper, and drain water into a container. Ensure the drum is empty. Place an absorbent cloth under the filter before unscrewing to catch residual water. Turn the filter counter-clockwise to the limit stop. Remove and clean the filter, then replace it by turning clockwise until locked. Smear a little liquid soap on the seal for easier refitting. Reassemble parts in reverse order.

Suggestions for Moves or Prolonged Disuse: If storing in an unheated room for a long period, drain all water from tubes. Unplug the machine. Detach the drain tube, clip it to the rear, and lower it to drain water into a bowl. Secure the drain tube. Keep the door glass and gasket clean.

WARNING: The manufacturer's warranty covers mechanical or electrical faults. Faults from handling, installation, or misuse are not covered and may incur charges.

5. Quick User Guide
