Important Safety Information & Warnings

Warning: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or personal injury, strictly follow these instructions:

  • Do not connect devices exceeding the timer's maximum ratings.
  • Do not immerse in water.
  • Children are not allowed to use the timer without supervision.
  • Do not disassemble or attempt to repair; service by authorized personnel only.
  • Always unplug and store indoors when not in use.
  • Dispose of used batteries safely and environmentally.

CAUTION: Disregarding cautions may cause damage, fire, or fatal shock. Basic safety precautions for outdoor electrical products must be followed.

  • Risk of Fire: Not for permanent installation. Use only with outdoor equipment, Christmas trees, or seasonal decorative lighting products with a total of 13 Ampere maximum. Do not install or use for more than a 90-day period.
  • If using products without an ampere rating, connect no more than 140 screw-base lamps (C7 or C9) or 12 strings with midget (push-in) lamps.
  • Cord sets must be plugged into a GFCI-protected receptacle.
  • For extended use (over 90 days), consider hard wiring a permanent outdoor-use receptacle. Contact a licensed electrician.
  • After installation, ensure the connector is maintained at least 6 inches above ground.
  • Suitable for indoor/outdoor use. Store indoors when not in use.

Installation

As shown in the figure, connect the three sections together. Be sure to firmly tighten the stake to the body before installing into the ground.

Tip: If the ground is too hard to insert the stake, digging a hole that matches the stake with a hard object will be perfect.

Button Layout

[Diagram: Illustrates the timer unit with numbered components.]

  • 1. Light Sensor: Detects light density to turn connected devices on or off.
  • 2. Operating Mode Indicator: Indicates current operating mode.
  • 3. Select Button: Used to select and switch operating modes.
  • 4. Overload Protection Switch: Turns power on/off manually and provides overload protection.
  • 5. Outlets: Ports to plug in lights or devices controlled by the timer.
  • 6. Transmitter: Remote control unit.

Operating Instructions

The yard stake timer can be operated via the included transmitter from up to 100ft away or manually by pressing the button on the stake. Press the overload protection switch (4) to the "I" position to turn on all outlets first; the indicator will light up.

Manual Operation (Stake Timer)

Press the Select Button (3) to cycle through the following modes:

  • ON: Power is ON to attached devices. The power indicator (2) will be lit.
  • Sensor (Dusk-to-Dawn): Power turns on at dusk and remains on until dawn. The indicator (2) will be lit.
  • Sensor + 2hr/4hr/6hr/8hr: Power turns on at dusk and then off after the selected number of hours. The indicators (2) for Sensor and the selected hour will be lit.
  • Timer + 2hr/4hr/6hr/8hr: Power turns on immediately and then off after the selected number of hours. The indicators (2) for Timer and the selected hour will be lit. This setting repeats daily.

Transmitter Operation

Use the transmitter to control the receiver:

  • Press the ON or OFF button to turn the receiver power ON or OFF.
  • Press the Timer button plus 2Hr, 4Hr, 6Hr, or 8Hr to turn the receiver on, then off after the selected hour. This repeats ON daily.
  • Press the Sensor button (Dusk-to-Dawn) to turn the receiver ON at dusk and OFF at dawn.
  • Press the Sensor button plus 2Hr, 4Hr, 6Hr, or 8Hr to turn the receiver on after sensing dusk, then off after the selected hour.

Notes

  • The receiver must be located within 100 feet from the remote transmitter. Actual function range may be affected by weather, radio frequency interference, low remote battery, and obstructions.
  • The timer repeats daily after setting. In case of power failure, the timer will revert to the off state and needs to be reset once power is restored.
  • Once programming activates at the sensor with the 2H, 4H, 6H, or 8H Mode, the program cycle will complete before the timer resets. External light sources like headlights or porch lights will not interfere unless they are on for more than 15 minutes.
  • When set to "ON", the timer provides continuous power until switched to "OFF" or another operating mode.

Overload Protection

The unit has a reset function for overload protection. If the power turns off unexpectedly, unplug all devices, press the power switch (resets device), and reconnect devices.

Battery Handling and Usage

  • Never throw batteries into a fire. Do not expose batteries to fire or other heat sources.
