Introduction
Congratulations with your brand new Frameo photo frame! Before connecting, operating, or adjusting this product, please read this user manual carefully and completely. If the user manual is not printed in your local language, please visit the Denver website (denver.eu) to check for an online version under your model number.
Important Safety Information
WARNING: Please read the safety instructions carefully before using the product for the first time and keep them for future reference.
- This product is not a toy. Keep it out of reach of children. Adult supervision is required if operated by children.
- Keep the product away from pets.
- This Frameo product contains a lithium battery. Follow these precautions:
- Do not attempt to open the product. It may contain parts with deadly voltage.
- Do not expose to heat, water, moisture, or direct sunlight.
- Only charge with the original adapter supplied with this product.
- Do not attempt to replace the battery yourself, as this may cause overheating and injury. The lithium battery should only be replaced by a skilled engineer and must be recycled or disposed of separately from household waste. Do not incinerate the battery.
- Repairs or service should only be performed by qualified personnel.
- To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this apparatus to rain or moisture. Avoid dripping, splashing, or placing objects filled with liquids (like vases) on the apparatus.
- The direct plug-in adapter is used as a disconnect device; ensure it remains readily operable and accessible.
- Product operating and storage temperature is from -10 degrees Celsius to 40 degrees Celsius. Temperatures outside this range may affect function.

- 1. POWER: Press and hold the power button for approximately 5 seconds to turn the screen on. Press and hold for 3 seconds to access the reboot or power off menu. A short press turns the screen off/on without powering down the frame.

Getting Started
To send photos to your frame, use the Frameo app for iOS or Android. Find the Frameo app by scanning the QR code (description: QR code for downloading the Frameo app).
- For Android: Search for "Frameo" on Google Play.
- For iOS: Search for "Frameo" on App Store.
Frameo Quick Setup
When starting your frame for the first time, you will need to set it up:
- Select a language. This will be the language used on the Frameo.
- Connect your frame to the internet by connecting it to a Wi-Fi network.
- Frameo may ask you to update to the latest version. It is recommended to update your frame before continuing.
- Enter your name and the location where you have placed your frame (e.g., "Living room", "Office"). Finally, set the timezone if it is not already correct.
Start Using Frameo
Connect Frameo with your friends and family by providing them with a code from your frame.
Connecting a New Friend
Make sure your friend has downloaded and installed the Frameo app. Click the ? [add friend icon] add friend icon on your frame. A dialog will appear showing a connection code, valid for 12 hours. Share this code via SMS, E-Mail, IM, or phone call. Once your friends add the code in their Frameo app, they will appear on your frame and can send you photos. Refer to the "Change options for a friend" section to manage friend permissions.

Navigating Your Frameo
Swipe left or right to go through your photos. Tap the screen once to access the menu.
The menu provides access to the most used features:
- Add friend: Generates a code to share with friends and family for connecting and sending photos.
- Settings: Opens the settings menu.
- Power menu: Opens the power menu.
- Hide photo: Hides the current photo from the slideshow. Hidden photos can be shown again via the settings menu.
- Gallery: Opens a gallery for easy navigation through your photos.
- Fit to frame/Fill frame: Toggles how photos are displayed. 'Fill frame' scales the photo to fill the screen, centering on the most important part. 'Fit to frame' ensures the entire photo is shown, potentially adding blurred bars.
Photo and Video Interaction
Adjust Photo
Allows you to adjust the position of the photo for a better fit and rotate your photo using the ? [rotate icon].
Interacting with Videos
When a video is shown, additional controls appear:
- Press ▶️ [play icon] to start video playback. Pressing ⏸️ [pause icon] will pause it.
- Press ? [volume up icon] to open the volume slider for video sounds.
- Pressing ? [mute icon] will mute the video, while pressing ? [unmute icon] will unmute it.
Power Menu
Tap the Power icon [power icon] to access the power menu. From here, you can power off using ⚫ [power off icon], restart your frame using ? [restart icon], or enter sleep mode using ? [sleep icon].
Note: Always use the power off button on the device or in the power menu to turn Frameo off. Never disconnect power while Frameo is running.
Settings
Personalize your frame through the settings menu.
My Frame
- Frame name: Changes the name of your frame, visible to connected friends and family in the app.
- Frame location: Changes the location of your frame, helping distinguish it from others in friends' and family's lists.
- Set language: Sets the language used on the frame.
- Set time zone: Sets the time zone used on the frame.
- Enable/Disable 24-hour format: Toggles the 24-hour time format.
Manage Photos
The manage photos menu shows the number of photos and storage usage. It also displays the remaining storage space.
- Show/hide photos: Select photos to hide. Hidden photos are not deleted and can be shown again. Use the ?️ [eye icon] to hide or show all photos.
- Delete photos: Select photos to permanently delete. Use ☑️ [checkbox icon] to select or deselect all, and the ?️ [trash can icon] to permanently delete selected photos.
- Import photos: Allows importing photos from external storage (e.g., microSD card). Ensure the storage is inserted. Select photos and tap the import button ⬆️ [upload icon] to start. Use ☑️ [checkbox icon] to select/deselect all, and ? [sort icon] to set the sort order. Captions or defining the most important part of a photo are not possible during import; use the app for these features.
- Export photos: Allows exporting all photos and profile pictures from the frame to external storage (e.g., microSD card).
My Friends
This list contains all connected friends allowed to send photos to your frame.
Change Options for a Friend
Click the ⚙️ [options icon] to open friend options. Here you can allow/disallow a friend to share the frame's connection code. You can also delete a friend by pressing the "DELETE FRIEND" button, which removes their permission to send photos and optionally removes previously received photos.
Add Person
To allow a new person to send photos, tap the ? [add friend icon] add friend button and share the presented code.
Display
- Brightness level: Adjust the screen's brightness.
Sleep Mode
Frameo offers a sleep mode to reduce power consumption by turning off the screen. The default setting is to turn off at 23:00 and on at 07:00. You can change these times. The frame is not powered down or in standby during sleep mode, allowing photo reception.
Slideshow
- Timer: Set the duration each photo is displayed before showing the next.
- Show caption: Sets whether to display captions sent with photos.
- Fill frame: Sets the default photo display setting. Check to fill the screen, uncheck to fit the entire photo within the screen, adding blurred bars.
- Photo display order: Sets the order of photos. Options include 'By date' (newest to latest) and 'Shuffle' (random order).
- Autoplay: Enables/disables autoplay of videos in the slideshow. Videos can always be manually started.
- Video playback: Determines video playback when autoplay is enabled: 'Loop videos', 'Play once', or 'Play once and continue'.
- Video volume: Adjust the volume level for video sounds.
Wi-Fi
Set which Wi-Fi the frame connects to. If connecting to a network with a captive portal, the connection status will indicate "Wi-Fi login is required" and show a ? [Wi-Fi icon] icon. Tap this to open a login screen.
- Wi-Fi details: Use the ℹ️ [info icon] to show details about the current Wi-Fi connection.
- Reset Wi-Fi: Use the ? [reset icon] to delete all Wi-Fi information and restart your frame.
Notifications
Configure notifications for various events:
- Show notifications: Enables/disables notifications in the slideshow (e.g., when a new photo is received).
- Notification volume: Adjust the volume level for notification sounds.
- Storage space: Enables/disables notifications for low frame storage.
- Backup: Enables/disables notifications for failed automatic backups.
- Network connection: Enables/disables notifications for network connection status.
- New photos: Enables/disables notifications when receiving new photos.
- New friends: Enables/disables notifications when new friends are added.
- Software update: Enables/disables notifications when a software update is installed.
- Feature news: Enables/disables notifications for new features.
Backup and Restore
Backup Frame to External Storage
Tap to create a backup of your photos, friends, and settings. The time of the latest successful backup is displayed. Warning: Any existing backup on the external storage will be overridden!
Automatic Backup
If checked, your frame will automatically back up within 30 hours of receiving new photos or making changes.
Restore from Backup
Before restoring, confirm your backup is up-to-date by checking the date under "Backup frame to external storage". If the last backup is too old or no backup exists, press the "Backup frame to external storage" button to create a new one.
Note: To keep both the old and new frames operational simultaneously after restoring, ensure both frames are updated to the latest version beforehand.
If you wish to restore a backup on an already set-up frame, you must first reset the frame by pressing the "Reset frame" button. This deletes all data and returns the Frameo to its setup screen. On the setup screen, select "Restore from backup". If the "Restore from backup" button is not visible, confirm that the external storage (e.g., microSD card) is correctly mounted.
Reset Frame
Removes all data from your frame, including photos, friends/connections, and settings.
Help
- Open source libraries: Opens a list of open source libraries used in the app and their licenses.
- Share anonymous analytics data: Helps improve Frameo software. Keep checked to help; uncheck to deny sharing.
- Guide: Opens the quick start guide shown during initial setup.
About
- Android version: Displays the installed Android version.
- Peer ID: A unique ID for your photo frame. Provide this ID when contacting support.
- MAC: Shows the MAC address of your frame.
- Frameo version: Shows the currently installed Frameo software version.
- Up time: Shows how long the photo frame has been powered on.
- Check for update: Checks if an update is available for your frame.
- Beta program: If checked, the device joins the Beta program for more frequent updates.
