- This product is not a toy. Keep it out of reach of children. If operated by children, please always make adult supervision.
- Please keep the product away from pets.
- Do not try to open the Frameo product! The device may contain parts with deadly voltage.
- Do not expose to heat, water, moisture, direct sunlight!
- Only charge with the original adapter supplied with this product!
- Repairs or service should only be performed by qualified personnel.
- To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this apparatus to rain or moisture. The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and that objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall not be placed on apparatus.
- The direct plug-in adapter is used as disconnect device, the disconnect device shall remain readily operable. So make sure there is space around the power outlet for easy access.
- Product operating and storage temperature is from -10 degree Celsius to 40 degree Celsius. Under and over this temperature might affect the function.
Product Overview and Ports
The Denver PFF-1053 Frameo photo frame features several ports on its rear:
- 1. POWER: Press and hold the power button for approximately 5 seconds to turn the screen on. Press and hold for 3 seconds to access the power off/reboot menu. A short press turns the screen off/on.
- 2. USB: For service use only.
- 3. RESET: Use a needle or paper clip to reset the unit.
- 4. MicroSD card: Load external microSD memory cards (max 32GB) here.
- 5. DC: Connect the DC adapter to power the device.
Getting Started
Congratulations on your new Frameo photo frame! If you are new to Frameo, follow the quick setup or the on-screen guide when powering it on for the first time. Once set up, you can connect it to friends and family.
Frameo App
To send photos to your frame, use the Frameo app for iOS or Android. Find the Frameo app by searching on the respective app stores (Google Play for Android, App Store for iOS).
Frameo Quick Setup
When starting your frame for the first time, you will need to perform the following setup steps:
- Select a language for the Frameo interface.
- Connect your frame to the internet by connecting it to Wi-Fi.
- Verify or correct the date and time.
- Frameo may prompt you to update to the latest version. It is recommended to update your frame before continuing.
- Enter your name and the location where the frame is placed (e.g., "Living room", "Kitchen").
- Finally, set the timezone if it is not already correct.
Start Using Frameo
Connect Frameo with your friends and family by providing them with a code from your frame. To send photos yourself, download the Frameo app for iOS or Android and use the code to connect your frame and app.
Connecting a New Friend
Ensure your friend has downloaded and installed the Frameo app. On your frame, tap the ? [add-friend] icon. A dialog will appear showing a connection code, valid for 12 hours. Share this code via SMS, email, or other preferred methods. Once your friends add the code in their Frameo app, they will appear on your frame and can send photos.
Refer to the "Change options for a friend" section to manage friend permissions.
Navigating Your Frameo
Swipe left or right to browse through your photos. Tap the screen once to access the menu, which displays the most used features:
- Add friend: Generates a code to share with friends and family for connection. ? [add-friend]
- Settings: Opens the settings menu. ⚙️ [settings]
- Power menu: Accesses options to power off, restart, or enter sleep mode. ? [power]
- React: Allows you to send reactions to the photo sender. ? [react] (Can also be accessed by double-tapping the screen.)
- Hide photo: Hides the current photo from the slideshow. Hidden photos can be shown again via the settings menu. ? [hide-photo]
- Gallery: Opens a gallery for easy navigation through your photos. ?️ [gallery]
- Fit to frame/Fill frame: Toggles how photos are displayed. ↔️ [fit-fill]
Photo Display Options
The "Fill frame" option is the default, scaling photos to fill the entire screen, centered on the most important part. "Fit to frame" ensures the entire photo is shown, potentially with blurred bars on the sides or top/bottom.
Adjust Photo
Allows adjustment of the photo's position for a better fit and rotation. Use the ? [rotate] icon for this.
Interacting with Videos
When a video is playing, controls appear for play/pause (▶️ [play-pause]) and volume adjustment (? [volume]). Pressing the volume icon again will mute/unmute the video (? [mute]).
Power and React Menus
Power Menu
Tap the ? [power] icon to access the power menu. From here, you can power off using ? [power-off], restart using ? [restart], or enter sleep mode using ? [sleep]. Always use the power off button on the device or in the power menu to turn off Frameo; never disconnect power while it is running.
React Menu
Tap one of the reactions to let the sender know how you feel: ❤️ (Like), ? (Happy), ? (Surprised), ? (Sad).
Settings
Personalize your frame through the settings menu:
My Frame
- Frame name: Changes the name of your frame, visible to connected friends and family.
- Frame location: Sets the location of your frame, helping distinguish it from others in friends' and family's lists.
General Settings
- Set language: Selects the language for the frame's interface.
- Date: Sets the date used on the frame.
- Time: Sets the time. The frame automatically attempts to set the correct date and time when connected to the internet.
- Time zone: Selects the timezone for the frame.
- Enable/Disable 24-hour format: Toggles the 24-hour time format.
Manage Photos
The "Manage photos" menu shows the number of photos on your frame, their storage usage, and available storage space.
- Show/hide photos: Tap photos to hide them; they are not deleted and can be shown again later. Use the ?️ [show-hide-all] to hide or show all photos.
- Delete photos: Select photos to permanently delete them. Use ☑️ [select-deselect-all] to select/deselect all and ❌ [delete] to delete selected photos.
- Import photos: Allows importing photos from external storage (e.g., microSD card). Ensure the card is inserted with photos. Select photos and tap the import button. Use ☑️ [select-deselect-all] to select/deselect all on the card and ↕️ [sort] to set the sort order. Captions or defining the most important part of a photo are not supported during import; use the app for these features.
- Export photos: Exports all photos and profile pictures from the frame to external storage (e.g., microSD card).
My Friends
This section lists all connected friends allowed to send photos.
- Change options for a friend: Tap the ⚙️ [settings] icon to open a friend's menu. Here you can allow/disallow them to share the frame's connection code.
- Add person: Tap the ? [add-friend] icon to allow a new person to send photos and share the presented code via your preferred method.
Display and Slideshow Settings
- Brightness level: Adjusts the screen brightness.
- Sleep mode: Turns off the screen to save power. Default is 23:00 to 07:00. You can still receive photos during sleep mode.
- Slideshow Timer: Sets the duration each photo is displayed.
- Show caption: Toggles the display of captions sent with photos.
- Fill frame: Sets the default photo display to "fill" the screen. Unchecking this option fits the photo within the screen, adding blurred bars.
Photo and Video Playback
- Photo display order: Sets the order photos are displayed (By date taken, By date received, Shuffle).
- Reverse photo display order: Sets display order from newest to oldest or vice versa.
- Autoplay: Enables/disables automatic video playback in the slideshow.
- Video playback: Determines video behavior when autoplay is enabled (Loop videos, Play once, Play once and continue).
- Video volume: Adjusts the volume for video sounds.
Wi-Fi and Notifications
- Wi-Fi: Connects the frame to a Wi-Fi network. For captive portals, a login screen will appear. Use the ? [wifi] icon to connect.
- Wi-Fi details: Shows details about the current Wi-Fi connection. Use the ℹ️ [info] for details.
- Reset Wi-Fi: Deletes all Wi-Fi information and restarts the frame. Use the ↩️ [reset] for this.
- Notifications: Configure notifications for various events like new photos, friends, software updates, storage status, etc.
Backup and Restore
- Backup frame to external storage (e.g., microSD card): Creates a backup of photos, friends, and settings. Existing backups will be overwritten.
- Automatic backup: Automatically backs up the frame within 30 hours of receiving new photos or making changes.
- Restore from backup: Restores the frame from a backup. Ensure the backup is up-to-date. If restoring on an already set-up frame, first reset the frame using the "Reset frame" button. The "Restore from backup" button will then be available on the setup screen. Ensure the external storage is mounted.
- Reset frame: Removes all data (photos, friends, settings) from the frame.
- Help: Accesses open source libraries and their licenses.

- About: Provides information such as Android version, Peer ID (for support), MAC address, Frameo version, and Up time.
- Check for update: Checks for available software updates.
- Beta program: Joins the beta program for earlier access to updates.
