Product Overview and Setup
This document provides instructions for the Denver PFF-1011WHITE MK2 digital photo frame, which utilizes the Frameo software.
Device Ports and Buttons:
- 1. POWER ?: Press to turn the screen on or off. Long press for approximately 3 seconds to access the reset menu.
- 2. USB ?: Connect the DC adapter to power the device. This USB port is for service use only.
- 3. Micro SD ?: Slot for loading an external microSD memory card (maximum 32GB).
Getting Started with Frameo
Thank you for purchasing your Frameo digital photo frame. For initial setup, please follow the 'Quick start guide' included in the package. If you are new to Frameo, follow the quick setup process on the device or the on-screen guide when powering it on for the first time.
Frameo App
To send photos to your frame, download the Frameo app for iOS or Android. The app can be found on:
- Google Play: Search for "frameo" or scan the provided QR code.
- App Store: Search for "frameo" or scan the provided QR code.
Frameo Quick Setup
When starting your frame for the first time, you will need to complete the setup:
- Select your preferred language. This language will be used throughout the Frameo interface.
- Connect your frame to the internet by connecting to a Wi-Fi network.
- If a newer version of the Frameo software is available, you will be prompted to update. It is recommended to update your frame immediately.
- Enter your name and the location where you have placed your frame (e.g., "Living room", "Kitchen", "Office").
- Set the correct timezone if necessary.
Start Using Frameo
Connect with friends and family by sharing a unique code generated by your frame. To send photos to the frame yourself, download the Frameo app on your smartphone (iOS or Android) and use the code to connect.
Connecting a New Friend
- Ensure your friend has downloaded and installed the Frameo app.
- Tap the add friend icon ??? on your frame. A dialog will appear showing a unique code valid for 12 hours.
- Share this code with your friend via SMS, email, instant messaging, or phone call.
- Once your friend adds the code in their Frameo app, they will appear on your frame and can send photos.
- Refer to the "Change options for a friend" section to allow connected friends to retrieve and share the connection code via their smartphone app.
Navigating Your Frameo
Swipe left or right to browse through your photos. To access the menu, simply tap the screen once.
Menu Features:
- Add friend ???: Generates a code to share with friends and family for photo sharing.
- Gallery ?️: Opens a gallery for easy and fast navigation through your photos.
- Settings ⚙️: Accesses the device settings menu.
- Hide photo ?: Hides the current photo from the slideshow. Hidden photos can be shown again via the settings menu.
- Fit to frame ? / Fill frame: Toggles how photos are displayed.
- Fill frame (default): Scales the photo to fill the screen, centering on the most important part.
- Fit to frame: Ensures the entire photo is shown, potentially adding bars on the sides or top/bottom.
- Adjust photo ✏️: Allows fine-tuning of photo position when in 'Fill frame' mode for a better fit.
Interacting with Videos and Power Management
Interacting with Videos
When a video is displayed, additional controls appear:
- Press ▶️ to start video playback.
- Press ⏸️ to pause video playback.
- Press ? to mute the video.
- Press ? to unmute the video.
Power Menu
Tap the power icon ? in the top right corner of the screen to access the power menu. Options include:
- POWER OFF ?
- RESTART ?
- SLEEP ?
Important Note: Always use the power off button on the device or in the power menu to turn Frameo off. Never disconnect power while Frameo is running.
Frame Settings
Through settings, you can personalize your frame:
My Frame
- Frame name: Changes the name of your frame, which is visible to connected friends and family.
- Frame location: Changes the location displayed for your frame, helping distinguish it among connected frames.
- Set language: Sets the language for the entire frame.
- Enable/Disable 24-hour format: Toggles the 24-hour time format.
- Set time zone: Sets the timezone for the frame.
- Sleep mode: Reduces power consumption by turning off the screen. Default setting is to turn off at 23:00 and on at 07:00. Your frame is not powered down and can still receive photos during sleep mode.
Manage Photos
- Show/hide photos ?️: Select photos to hide from the slideshow. Hidden photos are not deleted and can be shown again. Use the ?️ icon to show or hide all photos.
- Delete photos ❌: Permanently delete selected photos. Use the ☑️ icon to select or deselect all photos, then use the ❌ icon to delete the selected photos.
Photo Import, Export, and Friends Management
Import Photos
Allows importing photos from an external microSD card (max 32GB). Ensure the card is inserted with photos before attempting to import. Select photos and tap the import button. Captions cannot be added during import; use the app for this.
Export Photos
Allows exporting photos from the frame to external storage (e.g., microSD card). This function exports all photos and profile pictures.
My Friends
This list displays all people authorized to send photos to your frame.
Change Options for a Friend ⚙️
Click the options icon ⚙️ to open friend options. Here you can allow/disallow a friend to share the frame code. You can also delete a friend by pressing the 'DELETE FRIEND' button, which removes their permission to send photos and optionally deletes previously received photos.
Remove Person ❌
To remove a person from the list and revoke their photo sending permission, tap the delete icon ❌. You will be asked to confirm the removal.
Add Person ???
To allow a new person to send photos, tap the add friend button ??? and share the presented code.
Display and Slideshow Settings
- Timer ⏱️: Define the duration a photo is displayed.
- Show caption: Toggle the display of captions sent with photos.
- Fill frame: Sets the default photo display. 'Fill' scales to the screen, 'Uncheck' fits the entire photo within the screen, adding bars.
- Photo display order:
- By date: Photos shown newest to latest.
- Shuffle: Photos shown in a random order.
- Brightness level: Adjust the screen brightness.
- Notification volume: Adjust the volume for notification sounds (e.g., new photo notifications).
- Autoplay: Enable or disable automatic video playback in the slideshow. Videos can always be manually started.
- Video playback: Determines video playback behavior when autoplay is enabled:
- Loop videos: Video loops until the slideshow timer is up.
- Play once: Video plays once and shows its thumbnail until the timer is up.
- Play once and continue: Video plays once and proceeds to the next photo/video.
- Playback audio: Sets the default audio playback for videos (ON/OFF). Audio can always be manually adjusted.
Connectivity and Data Management
Video volume
Adjust the volume level for video sounds on the frame.
Wi-Fi
Connect to Wi-Fi networks. If connecting to a network with a captive portal, a web browser icon will appear in the top right corner to enter credentials.
Backup and Restore
- Backup frame: Backs up photos, friends, and settings to a microSD card (max 32GB). Existing backups on the SD card will be overwritten.
- Automatic backup: If enabled, the frame automatically backs up within 30 hours of receiving new photos or making changes.
- Restore from backup: Before restoring, confirm backup date. Press the backup button to create a new backup if needed. Note: A backup cannot be restored to a new Frameo frame while the old one is operational. To restore to an already set-up frame, first reset the frame using the "Reset frame" button. Then, select "Restore from backup" on the setup screen. If the button is not visible, ensure the microSD card is mounted.
- Reset frame ❌: Permanently removes all data from the frame, including photos, friends/connections, and settings.

If checked, the device joins the Beta program for more frequent updates.

- Open source libraries: Lists open source libraries used in the app and their licenses.
- Share anonymous analytics data: Opt-in to help improve Frameo software. Uncheck to deny sharing.
