Chapter 1: Overview and Connecting VEXO1xx
Overview of the VEXO1xx Back Panel
The back of the VEXO1xx loudspeaker features several connection and mounting points:
- 1) Integrated Carry Handle: Allows for easy movement and handling of the speaker. This feature is present on all VEXO series loudspeakers except the VEXO 108.
- 2) Rigging Points: The VEXO1xx is equipped with ten M10 rigging points. The VEXO 108 has single M10 and M6 rigging points on the top and four M8 and four M6 rigging points on the rear. These points allow the VEXO1xx to be mounted for various rigging applications. Additionally, a universal M8 mounting pattern is located on the back of the unit, serving as a mounting point for various arrangements.
- 3) Integrated 35 mm Pole Adapter: This feature allows the VEXO to be installed quickly and conveniently on speaker stands with a 35 mm tube diameter.
- 4) SpeakON Compatible Connectors: Two 4-pin Neutrik SpeakON connectors are provided. The primary connector is for the input signal from the amplifier, which should be connected to the +1/-1 terminals for the full-range signal. The second connector serves as a link-through output, allowing the signal from the amplifier to be passed to other loudspeakers, creating a parallel network.
Chapter 2: Horizontal Mounting - Rotate the Horn
By default, the VEXO1xx provides a 90° vertical and 70° horizontal coverage pattern when mounted vertically. If the speaker is to be mounted horizontally, the horn must be rotated 90° to maintain the intended coverage pattern of 90° x 70°.
Procedure for Rotating the Horn:
- Remove the Grille: Unscrew the eight screws located on the sides of the speaker to remove the front grille.
- Remove the Horn: Once the grille is off, unscrew the eight screws that secure the horn assembly.
- Rotate the Horn: With the horn screws removed, the horn can be rotated 90°.
- Reassemble: Reattach the horn and the grille using the original screws.
The AUDAC logo on the front can also be rotated independently. No tools are required; simply pull the logo out slightly and rotate it to the desired position.
Note: In case of uncertainty, compare the horn's orientation with the provided diagrams to ensure the best sound experience.
