Introduction
Compact dual-channel power amplifier
The SCP series comprises a range of extremely powerful, compact dual-channel power amplifiers designed for commercial use. These half 19-inch devices can operate in stereo low impedance or 70/100V bridge mode. Various models are available, catering to a wide array of applications with power ratings ranging from 120W to 1000W, housed within a half 19-inch rack space enclosure.
The amplifier's compact and elegant design, featuring a half 19-inch rack space enclosure, allows for single installation in a 10.5-inch equipment rack or side-by-side mounting (two devices) in a 19-inch equipment rack.
Connections to the WP2xx series input wall panels or volume controllers can be established using the RJ45 connectors located on the back of the SCP.
Equipped with a standby mode switch, the SCP series automatically enters an energy-saving standby mode after a period of inactivity. This feature, combined with its overall energy-efficient design, ensures the SCP meets the high standards of Energy Star certification.
When paired with a suitable pre-amplifier or wall-mounted input panel, the SCP series provides a powerful and comprehensive solution for background music installations.

Chapter 2: Front Panel Overview
Indicator LEDs (VU)
Channel monitoring is facilitated by four indicator LEDs for each channel, providing continuous operational status.
- Green Signal LED: Illuminates when a signal is present.
- -20dB LED: Illuminates when the input signal exceeds the -20 dB level.
- Clip LED: Illuminates when the corresponding channel is operating at its maximum level. For optimal signal-to-noise ratio, this LED should only illuminate at peak levels. When the Clip LED illuminates, the amplifier's output limiter intervenes to prevent distorted "Clipping" sound.
- Protection LED: Illuminates in case of overheating or any other detected fault. No signal will be output when this LED is illuminated. It also illuminates when external mute contacts are activated.
Power Switch
The power switch is used to turn the amplifier on and off. The LED ring around the switch illuminates blue when the power is switched on and orange when switched to standby mode.
Rear Panel Overview
AC Power Inlet with Fuse
The mains power supply (100-240V AC - 50/60 Hz) is connected via this AC power inlet.
Mute Connection
A priority mute contact connection is provided, enabling complete muting of background music upon a contact closure between the 'MUTE' contacts. This is useful for situations involving a separate emergency system requiring background music muting, such as during a fire alarm. Emergency system output contacts can be linked to this input. If a Normally Closed (N.C.) contact trigger is used, a contact bridge must be placed between both Normally Open (N.O.) contact terminals.

Audio Output Connection
Speakers are connected to the terminal block output connector. Depending on the setup, two speakers can be connected in a low impedance stereo configuration, or a single speaker line can be connected in a constant voltage 70/100V bridge configuration. Typical wiring applications are illustrated in the following diagrams.

Remote Audio Input
A remote audio wall panel (e.g., WP2xx) can be connected to the bottom 'Remote audio' RJ45 connector for providing a remote audio input. This connection can be made using CAT5e (or better) twisted pair cable in a straight pinout configuration. The remote audio input offers stereo balanced line input with a sensitivity of +12dBV and a +24V output for powering external audio panels. The audio signal from the remote audio input is mixed with the amplifier's line inputs.
Remote Volume Control
The top 'Vol Ctrl' RJ45 connector allows for external control of the SCP amplifier's main volume. This connection can be made using CAT5e (or better) twisted pair cable in a straight pinout configuration. The remote volume controller connection is designed for use with a suitable volume controller (e.g., WP200). It functions as a VCA input, operating between 0-10V (linear envelope), and can be integrated with an external 0-10V control system. The amplifier's overall volume is controlled based on the applied control voltage: 10V means no attenuation, while 0V mutes the amplifier. When no external controller is connected, the volume remains at maximum.
Standby Switch
The standby mode of the SCP can be toggled on or off. When enabled, the SCP will automatically enter standby mode after 30 minutes of inactivity (no signal detection).
Stereo- (Lo-Z) / Bridge- (Hi-Z) Mode Switch
This switch allows selection between Lo-Z and Hi-Z modes. When set to Lo-Z stereo, the output is stereo and can drive low impedance speakers. When set to Hi-Z BTL/HPF, both output channels are bridged and can drive high impedance / constant voltage speaker systems. The output voltage can be switched between 70/100V using a corresponding switch, depending on installation requirements. An HPF (70 Hz) is enabled when switched to Hi-Z.
Additional Rear Panel Features
70V / 100V Switch
When switched to Hi-Z mode (STEREO - BTL-HPF), this switch allows selection of the output voltage between 70V and 100V. In Hi-Z mode, the amplifier's CH1 input is used, and the input source should be a mono-summed signal configured on the source side. If using a WP2XX as the source, the wall panel must be set to Mono mode via its rear DIP switch.
Balanced Stereo Line Input
The balanced stereo line inputs utilize 3-pin terminal block connectors. Various types of balanced and unbalanced line-level audio sources can be connected to these inputs, including pre-amplifiers, mixers, and audio sources for spoken messages. A gain control potentiometer is fitted, allowing input sensitivity adjustment within a range of -3 dBV to +7 dBV.
