The Alphacool Eisbecher Aurora reservoir integrates a pump top designed for powerful D5 pumps and includes the VPP Apex pump. The reservoir tube is crafted from glass, while the D5/VPP pump top and lid are made of acetal, contributing to a magnificent appearance. The visual appeal is enhanced by 12 digitally addressable RGB LEDs located in the pump top and a "Lighttower" water effect within the glass tube.
Extensive Mounting Options
Mounting Option 1: The scope of delivery includes stands that allow the expansion tank to be mounted on the bottom of the enclosure.
Mounting Option 2: Included are 120mm/140mm mounting frames, enabling the Eisbecher Aurora expansion tank to be positioned on free fan spaces, radiators, or directly on fans attached to radiators.
Digitally Addressable RGB Lighting
Twelve digitally addressable RGB LEDs illuminate the reservoir's glass tube. These LEDs are arranged in a ring at the lower end of the tube, near the pump top, providing brilliant illumination for the entire expansion tank. This lighting, combined with the Lighttower water effect, creates a unique ambiance. The digital aRGB LED lighting connects via a 3-pin JST connector and can be controlled by a digital RGB controller (e.g., Alphacool Aurora Eiscontrol, Art. 15360) or a compatible digital RGB mainboard.
Lighttower Water Effect
A special water effect is achieved in the Eisbecher reservoir through the riser tubes. If the reservoir is filled only up to the top edge of the riser tube, a fountain-like effect occurs. Water is pushed out from the sides of the riser tube and splashes against the glass tube. The intensity of this effect depends on the flow rate of the cooling circuit.
Pump
The VPP Apex pump utilizes a ceramic shaft instead of a spherical bearing. Its motor coils have been relocated to the exterior. These design changes result in a more stable and smoother operation, significantly reducing vibrations. A notable benefit is the near halving of power consumption. Unlike older Alphacool pumps that used a 4-pin Molex connector, the Apex VPP pump connects to the power supply via a SATA connector. It also features a 4-pin fan connector for connection to a motherboard or external controller, allowing for PWM speed control and RPM signal reading.
