Getting Started
Fully charge your machine before using it for the first time.
Power Modes
Your machine has three power modes for different tasks, changeable with a single button:
- Eco mode: Maximum run time for longer cleans. The LCD screen displays a full battery in green.
- Med mode: The optimum balance of power and run time. The LCD screen displays a medium battery life in blue.
- Boost mode: Designed for intensive spot cleaning of ground-in dirt. The LCD screen displays the shortest battery life in red.
Connect the wand to the main body by aligning the release button. Tools can be connected directly to the main body or to the end of the wand.
Charging Your Machine
It is important to fully charge your new machine before first use and after every clean. This helps the battery monitoring system's algorithm learn and accurately display remaining run time.
Connect the charger to the power supply via the wall dock or directly to the battery. The blue LEDs on either side of the battery will flash during charging. When fully charged, both LEDs will light for 5 seconds, and the display will show 100%.
The machine will not operate or charge if the ambient temperature is below 5°C (41°F) to protect the motor and battery. Allow the machine to cool down before recharging to help prolong battery life.
Changing Your Click-in Battery
If you have additional click-in batteries, alternate them to maintain even performance.
To remove: Push the Battery release button on the handle and slide the battery off.
To refit: Align the battery with the handle, slide it in, and push firmly until it clicks [click] into place.
Caring for Your Floors
Check that the underside of the cleaner head or tool is clean and free from objects that may cause damage.
Before vacuuming, check the manufacturer's recommended cleaning instructions for your flooring, rugs, and carpets.
The brush bar can damage certain carpet types and floors. If carpets fuzz when using the rotating brush bar, consider vacuuming without the motorised floor tool and consult your flooring manufacturer.
How to Use Your Dyson Submarine™ Wet Roller Head
- Hold the wet roller head at the edges, press the red Quick-release button, and slide out the removable cassette from the main roller head.
- Remove the cap from the water reservoir by turning it anti-clockwise.
- Fill the water reservoir with clean water to the MAX line.
- Securely replace the cap by turning it clockwise.
- Slide the waste extraction tray and water reservoir back into the main roller head until you hear a click [click]. Attach the main wet roller head to your vacuum's wand. The LCD screen will display the remaining battery life as a percentage. Continue wet cleaning until the water reservoir is low or the battery runs out. Empty the waste extraction tray, refill the water reservoir, and resume cleaning. Do not wet clean with an empty water reservoir to prevent motor overheating.
How to Clean Your Dyson Submarine™ Wet Roller Head
- Turn off the machine and detach the Dyson Submarine™ wet roller head from the wand. Place it immediately in the drip tray to prevent dirty water spillage.

- Hold the wet roller head over a sink. Remove it from the drip tray. Press the red Quick-release button to slide out the cassette. Remove the red dirty water tank cap to empty the waste extraction tray.
- The main roller head can be washed with water [?], but do not get water on the neck [❌], as it may damage the connection to the wand. Disassemble the wet roller head. All parts can be washed with water and a diluted household anti-bacterial solution. Empty any leftover water from the water reservoir.
- Leave the wet roller to air dry in a warm, well-ventilated space [☀️?⏳]. Use a cloth to wipe away dirt or excess water from the main roller head, waste extraction tray, and water reservoir. Dyson recommends replacing the wet roller every six months, depending on usage, to maintain performance.

- Shake out water: Empty the filter and shake firmly to remove excess water. Keep shaking until no water remains.
- Dry filter: Do not dry in a tumble dryer, microwave, or near a naked flame. The filter must be completely dry before reinserting; using a damp filter can damage the machine.
Clearing Blockages
Disconnect the machine from the charger before checking for blockages. Be careful not to touch the trigger and be aware of sharp objects. Allow the machine to cool down before checking. Do not use the machine while checking for blockages, as this could cause injury.
If a blockage is detected, the motor will pulse six times. The machine will not operate until the blockage is cleared. Attempting to use the machine while it is pulsing will cause it to cut out automatically.
- Check wand: With the wand removed, check for blockages at both ends.
- Check cleaner head: Turn the cleaner head over to check for obstructions on the brush bar and air inlet.
- Check bin area: With the bin removed, check for blockages, particularly the air inlet located on the right-hand side of the machine below where the bin joins the main body.
- Remove obstructions: Clear any obstructions from the brush bar.
- Check filter/bin ends: Check for blockages in the filter end and bin ends of the machine.
