Product Components
This premium installation kit is designed for 2006-UP Nissan 350Z vehicles. It includes all the necessary parts to mount your car stereo/cassette or CD player into your vehicle's dash. Refer to the individual instructions in this manual to remove your vehicle's factory radio and assemble the kit.
Components shown:
- 6164 PANEL: A black plastic dash panel with specific cutouts for radio installation.
- 6165 POCKET: A black plastic pocket designed to fit into the dash opening, often used with single DIN radios.
Important Safety Information
CAUTION: DISCONNECT YOUR VEHICLE'S NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL BEFORE THE INSTALLATION TO HELP PREVENT ELECTRICAL DAMAGE. WE RECOMMEND THE USE OF A VOLT/OHM METER OVER A TEST LIGHT TO CHECK WIRING. A TEST LIGHT OR GROUNDED WIRE PROBE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE'S COMPUTER AND/OR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS. AVOID ALL FACTORY AIRBAG WIRING - AIRBAGS CAN ACCIDENTALLY DEPLOY CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.

- Read all instructions accompanying your car stereo/cassette player for proper wiring and mounting procedures.
Radio Removal for 2006-UP Nissan 350Z
- Using a panel removal tool, unsnap the silver bezel around the shifter.
- Shift the vehicle's gear selector into drive.
- Using a panel removal tool, carefully pry up the bezel around the shifter and AC controls, starting from the rear and moving towards the front. Disconnect any wiring and remove the bezel.
- Remove (4) Philips head screws from underneath the factory radio. Pull out the AC control unit, disconnect its wiring, and remove it.
- Open the storage compartment located above the radio. Using a panel removal tool, pry off the front edge panel of the storage compartment. Remove (2) Philips head screws located behind this panel.
- Using a panel removal tool, carefully pry out the middle section of the dash that contains the radio storage compartment and gauges. Disconnect all wiring and remove this section.
- Remove (8) Philips head screws from the sides of the factory radio and then remove the radio unit.
Mounting the Radio
ISO-DOUBLE DIN MOUNT
This section details the mounting procedure for a Double DIN aftermarket stereo unit.
- Align the aftermarket Double DIN head unit with the factory metal right and left brackets. Use the supplied hardware from the aftermarket Double DIN head unit for attachment.
- Position the assembled aftermarket unit and factory metal brackets into the factory dash opening. Ensure all necessary wiring is connected correctly before securing the assembled unit/brackets to the dash.
- Place the 6164 panel over the assembled aftermarket unit and factory metal brackets. Secure using the factory mounting bolts and then reassemble the factory dash components to complete the installation.

ISO-DIN MOUNT W/ POCKET
This section details the mounting procedure for a Single DIN aftermarket stereo unit using the included pocket.
- Align and position the 6165 pocket into the lower radio opening of the 6164 panel. Ensure the face of the 6165 pocket sits flush with the face of the 6164 panel.
- Use the (3) screws supplied with the installation kit to secure the 6165 pocket to the 6164 panel. (Refer to Illustration 1 for guidance).
- Align the aftermarket single DIN head unit with the factory metal right and left brackets. Use the supplied hardware from the aftermarket single DIN head unit for attachment.
- Position the assembled aftermarket unit and factory metal brackets into the factory dash opening. Ensure all necessary wiring is connected correctly before securing the assembled unit/brackets to the dash.
- Place the 6164 panel over the assembled aftermarket unit and factory metal brackets. Mount using the factory mounting bolts and then reassemble the factory dash components to complete the installation.
