Scosche TA2101B/TA2101DGB In-Dash Stereo Installation Kit for 2009 Toyota Corolla
Introduction/Preliminary
This premium installation kit is for 2009 Toyota Corolla vehicles. Included are all the parts you need to mount your car stereo or CD player into your vehicle's dash. Refer to the individual instruction in this manual to remove your vehicle's factory radio and assemble the kit.
CAUTION
DISCONNECT YOUR VEHICLE'S NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL BEFORE THE INSTALLATION TO HELP PREVENT ELECTRICAL DAMAGE. WE RECOMMEND THE USE OF A VOLT/OHM METER OVER A TEST LIGHT TO CHECK WIRING. A TEST LIGHT OR GROUNDED WIRE PROBE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE'S COMPUTER AND/OR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS. AVOID ALL FACTORY AIRBAG WIRING - AIRBAGS CAN ACCIDENTALLY DEPLOY CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.

Factory Stereo Removal
2009 TOYOTA COROLLA
- Using a panel removal tool, unclip side panels from lower center console (beside shifter).
- Using a panel removal tool, unclip side panels from radio and upper vent panel.
- Using a panel removal tool, unclip upper vent.
- Extract (4) 10mm hex head screws from stereo.
- Disconnect stereo and remove.
Mounting the Stereo
Attaching the Single DIN Stereo
This section illustrates the mounting of a single DIN stereo. It shows a 6591 panel (the main dash fascia), a 6552 pocket (a storage compartment that fits into the dash), a single DIN stereo unit, and factory mounting brackets. The process involves attaching the 6552 pocket to the 6591 panel, then attaching the factory mounting brackets to the stereo, and finally installing the stereo assembly into the dash.
- Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove all screws holding factory side brackets on stereo.
- Fasten 6552 pocket to back of 6591 panel using supplied screws.
- Using factory screws, attach factory brackets to aftermarket stereo.
- Install the stereo assembly into dash without fully tightening bolts.
- Snap 6591 panel into place and adjust stereo to fit.
- Tighten bolts.
Attaching the Double DIN Stereo
This section illustrates the mounting of a double DIN stereo. It shows a 6591 panel (the main dash fascia), a double DIN stereo unit, factory mounting brackets, and rear support straps. The process involves attaching the factory mounting brackets to the stereo, then installing the stereo assembly into the dash. Rear support straps are also shown, which connect to the stereo and the vehicle for added structural integrity.
- Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove all screws holding factory side brackets on stereo.
- Using factory screws, attach factory brackets to aftermarket stereo.
- Install the stereo assembly into dash without fully tightening bolts.
- Snap 6591 panel into place and adjust stereo to fit.
- Tighten bolts.
NOTE: REAR SUPPORT AVAILABLE SEPARATELY. REAR SUPPORTING THE STEREO ADDS TO THE INSTALLATION'S STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY.
