The LRS-50 series comprises 50W single-output enclosed type power supplies featuring a low profile design of 30mm. These units accept a universal AC input range of 85-264VAC and offer output voltages from 3.3V to 48V. With high efficiency up to 90%, the LRS-50 series utilizes a metallic mesh case for enhanced heat dissipation, allowing operation from -30°C to 70°C under free air convection without a fan. They deliver extremely low no-load power consumption (less than 0.3W), enabling end systems to meet global energy requirements. The series includes complete protection functions and 5G anti-vibration capability, complying with international safety regulations such as TUV BS EN/EN62368-1, BS EN/EN60335-1, BS EN/EN61558-1/-2-16, UL62368-1, and GB 4943.1. Notes:
- All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated load and 25°C of ambient temperature.
- Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.
- Tolerance: includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
- Line regulation is measured from low line to high line at rated load.
- Load regulation is measured from 0% to 100% rated load.
- Length of set up time is measured at cold first start. Turning ON/OFF the power supply very quickly may lead to increase of the set up time.
- 3.3V,5V when the load factor 0~50%, the switching power less is reduced by burst operation, which will cause ripple and ripple noise to go beyond the specifications.
- The ambient temperature derating of 5°C/1000m is needed for operating altitude greater than 2000m(6500ft).
- The power supply is considered a component which will be installed into a final equipment. All the EMC tests are been executed by mounting the unit on a 360mm*360mm metal plate with 1mm of thickness. The final equipment must be re-confirmed that it still meets EMC directives. The model encoding follows the pattern: LRS-50 - [Output Voltage]. For example, LRS-50-3.3 represents a 50W power supply with a 3.3V output voltage.
Diagrams and Characteristics
Block Diagram
The block diagram illustrates the internal components and signal flow of the power supply. Input power (I/P) is processed through an EMI filter, followed by rectifiers and a filter. This stage connects to the power switching circuitry, which is managed by a control circuit incorporating Overload Protection (O.L.P.) and Over Voltage Protection (O.V.P.). The output stage includes rectifiers and a detection circuit before delivering power to the output terminals (+V, -V).
Derating Curve
The Derating Curve graphically represents the relationship between Load (%) and Ambient Temperature (°C). It indicates that as the ambient temperature increases, the maximum allowable load must be reduced (derated) to maintain reliable operation. Specific derating lines are shown for 100VAC and 230VAC input voltages, with a note that 100VAC input is applicable only for 5V models.
Static Characteristics
The Static Characteristics graph illustrates the Load (%) in relation to the Input Voltage (VAC) at 60Hz. This chart demonstrates the stable output load capability across the specified input voltage range, from 85VAC to 264VAC.
