Important Safety Precautions ⚠️

Read and understand all safety information before using this instrument. Improper use can lead to electric shock ⚡ or equipment damage.

  • Always use test leads, probes, and adapters rated for the measurement category (CAT), voltage, and amperage required. This meter is rated CAT IV 600V and CAT III 1000V.
  • Never use the device in environments with explosive gases, vapors, or under high temperature and humidity.
  • Keep fingers behind the physical guards when handling test probes and crocodile clips.
  • Inspect test leads for any signs of damage or deterioration before each use. Replace damaged leads immediately with proper functional ones.
  • When connecting test leads, connect the common (black) lead first, then the live (red) lead. When disconnecting, remove the live lead first, then the common lead.
  • Before measuring current, ensure the instrument's fuses are intact and disconnect power to the circuit being tested.
  • Remove batteries ? if the device will not be used for an extended period or if stored in temperatures above 45°C (113°F) to prevent battery leakage and damage.

Basic Operation Guides

DC/AC Voltage Measurement (V= / V~)

  1. Connect the COM (black) probe to the COM input and the red probe to the VΩmA input on the meter.
  2. Turn the dial to the desired DC Voltage (V=) or AC Voltage (V~) setting.
  3. Connect the probes across the component or circuit to be measured (COM to negative, red probe to positive).
  4. Read the voltage value on the display.

[Diagram Description: Shows meter with COM and INPUT jacks, dial set to V= or V~, probes connected to a circuit with polarity indicated.]

DC/AC Current Measurement (A= / A~)

  1. Turn the dial to the desired DC Current (A=) or AC Current (A~) setting.
  2. Press the [FUNC] button to select DCA or ACA mode.
  3. Open the clamp jaws around one conductor of the circuit. Ensure the conductor is centered within the jaws.
  4. Read the current value on the display.

[Diagram Description: Shows meter with dial set to A= or A~, [FUNC] button pressed, and clamp jaws around a single wire.]

Resistance (Ω), Continuity (?), and Diode Measurement

  1. Connect the COM (black) probe to the COM input and the red probe to the VΩmA input.
  2. Turn the dial to the Resistance (Ω) setting.
  3. Press the [FUNC] button to cycle through Resistance (Ω), Continuity (?), or Diode mode.
  4. For Resistance: Connect probes across the component.
  5. For Continuity: If resistance is below approximately 50Ω, the meter will beep (?).
  6. For Diode: Connect probes to the diode leads (polarity matters).

[Diagram Description: Shows meter with COM and INPUT jacks, dial set to Ω, [FUNC] button used to select modes, and probes connected to a resistor or component. A separate visual indicates the continuity beep symbol.]

Capacitance (μF) and Frequency (Hz) Measurement

  1. Connect the COM (black) probe to the COM input and the red probe to the VΩmA input.
  2. Turn the dial to the Capacitance (μF) or Frequency (Hz) setting.
  3. Connect the probes to the capacitor or signal source. Observe polarity for capacitors if applicable.
  4. Read the capacitance or frequency value on the display.

[Diagram Description: Shows meter with COM and INPUT jacks, dial set to Hz or μF, and probes connected to a capacitor or signal source.]

Non-Contact Voltage (NCV) Detection

  1. Turn the dial to the NCV setting.
  2. Bring the sensor tip of the clamp meter near an AC voltage source (e.g., power outlet, wire).
  3. The meter will beep (?) and/or flash if AC voltage is detected.

[Diagram Description: Shows the clamp meter with its sensor tip held near a power outlet, indicating NCV detection with a beep/light symbol.]
