Important Safety Instructions

Hearing Protection

Danger: To prevent hearing damage, limit the usage time of the headphones at high volume and set the volume to a safe level. The higher the volume, the shorter the safe listening time.

Follow these guidelines when using your headphones:

  • Listen at a moderate volume for moderate periods.
  • Do not adjust the volume higher once your ears have adjusted to the previous volume level.
  • Do not set the volume so high that you cannot hear your surroundings.
  • Use headphones with caution or stop using them temporarily in potentially hazardous situations.
  • Excessive sound pressure from headphones can impair hearing.
  • Using headphones covering both ears while driving is not recommended and may be illegal in some areas.
  • For your safety, avoid listening to music or talking on the phone while in traffic or other potentially hazardous environments, to ensure your concentration is not affected.

General Information

  • Use a soft cloth, possibly slightly dampened with water or diluted mild soap, to clean the product.
  • The internal battery must not be exposed to excessive heat such as direct sunlight, fire, or similar.
  • Incorrect battery replacement may cause explosion. Replace only with the same or equivalent battery type.
  • To achieve the stated IP rating, the charging port must be closed.
  • Disposing of a battery in a fire or a hot oven, or mechanically crushing or cutting a battery, may result in an explosion.
  • Leaving a battery in an extremely high temperature surrounding may result in an explosion or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas.
  • A battery subjected to extremely low air pressure may result in an explosion or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas.
  • To prevent fire hazard, the device is supplied with an external power adapter with an output compliant with PS1 standard (output power less than 15 W).

True Wireless Earbuds Overview

1. Indicator light (earbuds): Indicates the status of the earbuds.

2. Multifunction button (MFB): Controls playback, calls, and voice assistant.

3. Indicator light (charging case): Shows the charging status of the case.

4. USB-C charging port: For charging the charging case.

Getting Started

Charging the Battery

Note: Before using the headphones, place them in the charging case and charge their battery for 2 hours for optimal capacity and battery life.

  • Use only the original USB-C charging cable to avoid damage.
  • End a call before charging. Charging the earbuds will turn them off.
  • If the headphones are not used for a long time, the battery will lose its charge. To prevent this loss, charge the battery fully at least every three months.

Earbuds:

Remove the earbuds from the packaging and detach the insulating stickers. Place the earbuds back into the charging case and close the lid; the earbud batteries will start charging.

Charging Case:

Connect one end of the USB-C cable to the charging case and the other end to a power source.

Tip: The charging case acts as a portable power bank for the earbuds. When the charging case battery is full, it can charge the earbud batteries up to 3 times.

Tip: Fully charging the battery typically takes two hours (for earbuds or charging case) using the USB cable.

Wearing the Earbuds

Inserting the earbuds into your ears:

  1. Check which earbud goes into the left and which into the right ear.
  2. Insert the earbuds into your ears and rotate them slightly until they fit snugly.

Pairing Earbuds with a Bluetooth Device for the First Time

  1. Ensure the earbud batteries are fully charged and the earbuds are turned off.
  2. Open the charging case lid. Take out the earbuds.

The indicator lights on both earbuds will flash alternately white and blue. The earbuds are now in pairing mode and ready to establish a connection with a Bluetooth device (e.g., a mobile phone).

  1. Turn on the Bluetooth function of your Bluetooth device.
  2. Pair the earbuds with your Bluetooth device. Refer to your Bluetooth device's user manual.

Note: If the earbuds do not find a previously connected Bluetooth device after turning on, they will automatically switch to pairing mode.

The following example shows how to pair the earbuds with a Bluetooth device:

  1. Turn on your Bluetooth device's Bluetooth function and select Philips TAT1138.
  2. Enter the password "0000" (4 zeros) if prompted. If your device has Bluetooth version 3.0 or higher, you do not need to enter the password.

Pairing Earbuds with Another Bluetooth Device:

If you want to connect the earbuds to another Bluetooth device, press and hold the MFB button on both earbuds for five seconds until they enter pairing mode, then place them back into the charging case. Then take them out of the charging case and search for the other device following the standard pairing steps.

Single Earbud (Mono Mode):

Take either the right or left earbud out of the charging case to use it in mono mode. The earbud will turn on automatically.

Note: Voice assistant is disabled in Mono mode.

Take the other earbud out of the charging case, and they will pair with each other automatically.

Note: The earbuds can store up to 4 devices in their memory. If you try to pair more than 4 devices, the first paired device will be replaced by the new one.

Using the Earbuds

Connecting to Your Bluetooth Device

  1. Turn on the Bluetooth function of your Bluetooth device.
  2. Take the earbuds out of the charging case.

The blue indicator light flashes. The earbuds will search for the last connected Bluetooth device and reconnect automatically. If the last connected device is not available, the earbuds will enter pairing mode.

Tip: The earbuds can only be connected to one device at a time. If you have two paired Bluetooth devices, turn on the Bluetooth function only of the device you want to connect to.

Tip: If you turn on your Bluetooth device's Bluetooth function after turning on the earbuds, you need to go to your device's Bluetooth menu and connect the earbuds to the device manually.

Note: If the earbuds fail to connect to any Bluetooth device within 3 minutes, they will turn off automatically to save power.

Note: On some Bluetooth devices, connection may happen automatically. In this case, you need to go to your device's Bluetooth menu and connect the earbuds to the Bluetooth device manually.
