Installation Guide
Safety First
⚠️ WARNINGS:
- Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with local regulations.
- Keep the device out of the reach of children.
- Keep the device away from water, damp, or hot environments.
- Install the device away from strong signal sources (e.g., microwave ovens) that may cause signal interruption.
- Obstructions like concrete walls or metallic materials may reduce the effective operation range and should be avoided.
- Do NOT attempt to disassemble, repair, or modify the device.
Step 1: Prepare Power
Turn off the circuit breaker for the relevant circuit. Use an electrical tester to verify that power is off. Ensure the circuit breaker is off before wiring. Note: The color of your wires may differ from those shown in diagrams.
Step 2: Remove Old Switch
Remove the existing wall switch and pull it away from the wall. Identify the Line and Load wires.
Step 3: Wiring
Disconnect the power supply before installing or removing the device to avoid damage or unpredictable issues like lamp flashing.

Note: Always ensure power is disconnected before starting any electrical installation work.
Connect the Line (L) and Neutral (N) wires to the module's input terminals. Connect the switched Load wire (L1) to the module's output terminal.
Example terminals: L, N, L1.
This configuration supports controlling two separate circuits. Connect Line (L) and Neutral (N) to the module's input. Connect Load wires (L1 and L2) to the respective output terminals for each gang.

This diagram shows how to wire the module for a 2-way switching setup. Connect Line (L) and Neutral (N) to the module's input. The module's output (L1) connects to the light. The existing 2-way switch wiring is adapted to work with the module, often using the module's S1 and L1 terminals in conjunction with the existing switch wiring.

This setup integrates the switch module with a wall socket. Power (L, N) is supplied to the module. The module's output (L1) controls the connected load (e.g., a light). The wall socket is wired in parallel or in a way that it receives constant power, independent of the switch module's control, or controlled by a separate gang if available.

Wiring Instructions Summary
- Turn off the power supply before any electrical installation.
- Connect wires according to the appropriate wiring diagram for your setup.
- Insert the module into the junction box.
- Reconnect power and proceed with module configuration.
Note: Ensure your smartphone has a strong Wi-Fi signal (min. 50%) and is close to the switch module during configuration.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- Q: What should I do if I can't configure the switch module?

- Ensure devices are added via the Smart Life App, not the phone's native Bluetooth interface.
- Verify Wi-Fi is enabled on your phone and the router is working correctly.
- Your phone must be connected to the internet when adding Bluetooth devices, as they require cloud server registration.
- For Android phones, ensure Location permission is enabled.
- Try resetting the Bluetooth device first, as it might have been previously added.
- Maintain a moderate distance (ideally under 3 meters, or as close as possible) between the Bluetooth gateway and the device. If no gateway is used, connect directly to your phone.
- Check if another user is currently using the device, as BLE Mesh devices typically support single-user control at a time and may appear offline if in use by someone else.
BLE Mesh Linking Methods
There are two primary pairing methods for adding devices:
Method 1: Connect via Mobile Phone Bluetooth, then Associate via Bluetooth Gateway
- Preparation: Ensure the switch is powered, your phone is connected to Wi-Fi and the internet.
- Download the "Smart Life" App from your app store or by scanning the QR code (QR code excluded).
- Register or Log in to your Smart Life account.
- Open the Smart Life/Tuya App, tap "+", and click "Go to add" when prompted.
- Ensure the device is in pairing mode (beeping continuously). If not, refer to page 13 for network configuration steps (reset procedure).
- Make sure your phone has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled.
- The prompt page should automatically show the device. Click "Done" to add it.
- Open the Bluetooth gateway within the Smart Life App, click "Add devices", then "Associate Bluetooth devices", select the device, and click "Add finish".
- You can now edit the device name and access its page.
Method 2: Add Devices Directly via Bluetooth Gateway
- Preparation: Ensure the switch is powered and in pairing mode (beeping continuously). If not, refer to page 13 for network configuration.
- Open the Smart Life App and navigate to the Bluetooth gateway section.
- Click "Add devices", then "Add new devices".
- Follow the on-screen prompts to add the device.
- Once added successfully, you can edit the device name.
How to Reset/Re-pair BLE Mesh Code
- For Reset Switch (Set as reset switch in APP): Press the switch button 10 times to hear continuous beep sounds. (If using a rocker light switch, press it 20 times).
- For Rocker Light Switch (Set as rocker switch in APP): Press the switch button 10 times (ON/OFF cycle for 5 times) to hear continuous beep sounds. (If using a reset switch, press it 5 times).
- For Reset Button (on the module): Long press the button on the module until continuous beep sounds are heard.
Multi-Control Association
This feature allows multiple switches to control the same light.
- Ensure you have successfully linked your BLE Mesh switch using one of the methods above and it's added to your Smart Life App.
- Add another smart switch to the same Smart Life App. Note: This new switch only requires L and N wiring; it doesn't need to be wired to the light itself for association purposes.
- In the app, you will see both devices. Click on the "main switch" (the one controlling the light).
- Tap the settings icon (usually in the upper right corner) and select "Multi-Control Association".
- Tap the "+" icon to add an association.
- Choose the switch you want to associate (e.g., the newly added switch) and select the specific button on that switch that will control the same light.
- Confirm the association. You will see both the main switch and the associated switch listed. Ensure the associated switch is enabled.
- You can now control the light with multiple switches. Do not associate another button on the same switch for multi-control.
- To add a third or more switches, repeat the association steps.
Result: You will be able to control your light with multiple switches (e.g., Main Switch, Associated 1, Associated 2).
