Introduction
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for updating the software on your Xzent X-527 device. The update process involves using a USB drive to install the latest MainSystem software, ensuring optimal performance and access to new features. Please follow these instructions carefully to complete the update successfully.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have the following:
- A USB flash drive with at least 2 GB of storage space.
- A PC or laptop to prepare the USB drive.
Important: The USB drive must be formatted with FAT32 before use. To format, right-click the USB drive in Windows Explorer, select 'Format', choose 'FAT32', and click 'Start'.
Update Procedure
- Step 1: Download and Prepare USB Drive
a) Download the software update from xzent.com/support/software/. Extract the update files.
b) Copy the extracted update files to the root directory of your formatted USB drive. - Step 2: MCU Update
a) Connect the prepared USB drive to the device's USB port. The device may open a WLAN settings window; ignore it.
b) Navigate to HOME Menu > Settings > Update and Reset > Update Device Software.
c) Select 'MCU' and click 'Upgrade'. The update takes approximately 30 seconds. The device will restart automatically upon completion. - Step 3: IMG (ATCUPG) Update
a) Connect the USB drive again if disconnected. Ignore any WLAN settings window.
b) Navigate to HOME Menu > Settings > Update and Reset > Update Device Software.
c) Select 'IMG' and click 'Upgrade'. This update takes approximately 10 minutes. Ensure the device remains powered on and the ignition is active throughout the process.
d) The device will restart automatically to begin the software installation and then restart again after completion. - Step 4: Bluetooth Activation
a) After the device restarts, the WLAN settings screen will appear.
b) Enable WLAN and connect to a Wi-Fi network or hotspot.
c) Go to the main menu, select 'BT Phone', and wait about 30 seconds for automatic activation.
d) Remove the USB drive. - Step 5: Version Check
a) Verify the software version after the update. If the version number is incorrect, repeat the entire update process.
b) To check the main software version, go to Settings > System Info.
