Electric Window Lifters

Electric Window Lifters

The electric window lifters allow for the operation of vehicle windows. The controls are typically located on the driver's door panel.

  1. Window Lifter Switches:
    • To open a window: Lightly press the front of the switch and release.
    • To close a window: Lightly pull the front of the switch and release.
    • For one-touch operation (opening or closing): Press or pull the front of the switch with firm pressure and release.

Note: Window lifters will operate for 5 minutes after the engine is switched off, provided no doors are opened.

  2. Rear Window Lifter Disable Button:

This button also locks the rear seat adjustment. It is recommended to activate this function when children are in the rear seats to prevent them from operating the window lifters. Failure to do so could result in serious injury or death.

  3. Panoramic Roof Blind Switch:
    • To open the blind: Lightly press the rear of the switch and release.
    • To close the blind: Lightly press the front of the switch and release.
    • For one-touch operation: Press or pull the front or rear of the switch with firm pressure and release.
  4. Panoramic Roof Switch:

For optimal operation, regularly clear snow, ice, dirt, leaves, etc., from the panoramic roof mechanism before closing it to prevent damage.

    • To tilt the roof: Lightly press the rear of the switch. Press again lightly to stop tilting.
    • To fully open the roof: Tilt the roof by lightly pressing the rear of the switch, then fully open by lightly pressing the front of the switch.
    • To close the roof: From the fully open position, lightly press the front of the switch to tilt the roof, then press the switch again to close it completely.
    • For one-touch operation: Press or pull the front or rear of the switch with firm pressure and release.

Note: The panoramic roof will operate for 30 seconds after ignition is switched off, as long as the driver's door remains closed.

Anti-Pinch Protection for Window Lifters

The anti-pinch mechanism may not function when the roof is tilted. If the roof is closed from a tilted position, there is a risk of serious injury. Always check for obstructions before closing the roof.

Before closing windows or the roof, ensure no body parts of passengers are in the path of movement. Even with the anti-pinch function, there is a risk of injury or death.

The anti-pinch function stops window or roof movement if it detects an obstruction or resistance. Check the windows and roof for obstructions (e.g., ice) and remove them.

If you need to close a window or the roof despite the anti-pinch function activating:

  1. Attempt to close the window/roof. The anti-pinch function will prevent closure and slightly lower the window or open the roof.
  2. Within ten seconds, attempt to close the window/roof again. The anti-pinch function will again prevent closure and slightly lower the window or open the roof.
  3. Attempt to close the window/roof a third time, this time holding the switch in the closing position. Hold the switch until the window/roof is fully closed.

Note: If this procedure does not resolve the issue, it may be necessary to reset the window lifter operation. Refer to Section 232, Resetting Window Lifter Settings.

Note: The panoramic roof's anti-pinch function operates differently. No reset is required after it activates. Refer to Section 232, Resetting the Panoramic Roof.
