Parking Assistance System
Using the Parking Assistance System
The parking assistance system helps detect moving objects, such as children and animals, when they come within a dangerously close distance. Always exercise extreme caution when maneuvering.
Limitations: PDC sensors may not detect certain obstacles, such as narrow poles, small objects near the ground, or objects with dark, non-reflective surfaces.
Note: PDC sensors may not detect some obstacles (e.g., narrow poles, small objects near the ground, and some objects with dark, non-reflective surfaces). When maneuvering, always exercise extreme caution.
Sensor Operation:
- When reverse gear is engaged, the front and rear parking assistance sensors automatically activate, and an indicator light illuminates in the switch.
- To manually activate the front sensors, press the PDC button. A short audible signal confirms activation, and the indicator light in the switch illuminates.
- To deactivate the system, press the button again. The indicator light in the switch will turn off.
- The detection range for the front, rear, and corner sensors varies. Front and rear corner sensors detect objects up to approximately 600 mm (24 inches) away. Central rear sensors detect objects up to approximately 1500 mm (60 inches) away.
Front sensors remain active as long as the vehicle's speed does not exceed 16 km/h (10 mph).
In vehicles with an automatic transmission, when shifting from reverse (R) to neutral (N), the front and rear sensors remain active.
When objects are detected in the path, the parking assistance system emits an audible signal. The frequency of the signal increases as the vehicle approaches the object and becomes continuous when the distance is 300 mm (12 inches).
Note: The front parking assistance system provides audible warnings when approaching obstacles while moving forward or backward.
Towing
When a trailer is connected, the rear sensors are automatically deactivated.
Sensor Maintenance
Important: When washing the vehicle, do not direct high-pressure water streams at the sensors. Do not use abrasive materials or hard/sharp objects to clean the sensors. Use only approved automotive shampoos.
Keep the sensors clean to ensure accuracy and proper operation.
System Malfunction
If a system malfunction is detected, a continuous high-pitched tone will sound, and the indicator light on the switch will flash. Contact your dealer or the company's technical center as soon as possible.
