Unboxing and Stand Assembly
This guide provides instructions for setting up your Philips 8500 Series television. Please follow these steps carefully.
Step 1: Unpack the Box
Carefully remove the television screen and all accessories from the packaging. You will find the TV, stand components (left and right base, support piece), and various screws.
Step 2: Assemble the Stand
Follow the diagrams to attach the stand components to the bottom of the TV. Ensure you use the correct screws provided for your specific TV size (50", 55", or 65").
- For 50" models, use the designated stand parts and screws.
- For 55" and 65" models, use the corresponding stand parts and screws.
Secure the stand firmly to the TV using the provided screws (e.g., M6 screws, typically 4 per stand assembly). ?
Step 3: Position the TV
Place the assembled TV on a stable, flat surface. Ensure there is at least 15 cm (approx. 6 inches) of clearance behind the TV for ventilation and optimal performance of features like Ambilight. ?
Wall Mounting
If you prefer to mount your TV on the wall, please refer to the VESA mounting specifications below. Ensure you use appropriate wall mounting hardware (not included) suitable for your wall type.

Note: Always ensure the mounting is secure and the TV is properly supported. ?
Connecting Devices
Connect your external devices to the appropriate ports on the back of the TV.
- POWER: Connect the power cord to the TV and a wall outlet.
- USB 1 & USB 2: Use these ports to connect USB drives for media playback or recording (HDD REC). ?
- HDMI 1/3 ARC, HDMI 2 ARC/eARC: Connect devices like Blu-ray players, game consoles, or streaming boxes using HDMI cables. ARC/eARC allows audio to be sent back to a soundbar or AV receiver. ?
- HDMI 4: An additional HDMI input port.
- DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL): Connect to an external audio system or soundbar using an optical cable.
- ANTENNA/COAXIAL: Connect your TV antenna or cable service for broadcast reception.
- NETWORK (LAN): Connect to your home router for internet access, software updates, and smart TV features. ?
Remote Control Setup:
Insert two AAA batteries into the remote control. ? Ensure correct polarity (+/-).
