Getting Started
This guide provides instructions for setting up your Philips 8808 Series Television. Please read the safety instructions before proceeding.
Unpacking and Assembly
- Carefully unpack the television and accessories.
- Stand Assembly:
- For 50", 55", and 65" models, attach the stand parts (L and R) to the bottom of the TV using the provided screws.
- For 75" models, a different stand configuration may apply. Refer to the diagrams for specific screw types and quantities.
- Ensure all screws are tightened securely.
- Wall Mounting:
- If wall mounting, consult the wall mount dimensions (x, y) provided.
- 50"/55": 200x300mm VESA, M6 screws (10mm-16mm length).
- 65": 300x300mm VESA, M6 screws (12mm-20mm length).
- 75": 300x300mm VESA, M8 screws (26mm-39mm length).
- Ensure the wall mount is appropriate for the TV's weight and size, and that it is securely attached to the wall.
Connections
Connect your devices to the television:
- Power: Connect the power cord to the TV and a wall outlet.
- Antenna/Cable: Connect your aerial or cable source to the ANTENNA input.
- HDMI Devices: Connect devices like Blu-ray players, game consoles, or set-top boxes to the HDMI ports. Use HDMI 1 for 4K 120Hz content. HDMI 2 supports ARC/eARC for audio output.
- USB Devices: Connect USB drives for media playback or HDD REC functionality.
- Audio Output: Use the DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL/COAXIAL) for external sound systems.
- Network: Connect to your router via the NETWORK port for smart features and updates.
Initial Setup and Operation
- Power On: Press the power button on the remote control or the TV.
- Remote Control: Insert the included AAA batteries into the remote control.
- On-Screen Setup: Follow the on-screen prompts to select your language, connect to Wi-Fi, scan for channels, and complete the initial setup.
- Google Assistant: If applicable, follow instructions to set up Google Assistant for voice control.
- Help: Access the 'Help' menu on the TV for further assistance.
- Ambilight: Enjoy the immersive Ambilight experience.
Recommended distance to the wall for optimal Ambilight viewing: 10 to 20 cm.
