Stäubli MC4-Evo 2 In-line Fuse MA707
Installation and Operation Manual
Safety Instructions
Importance of the Assembly Instructions
Failure to follow assembly and safety instructions can lead to life-threatening injuries from electric shock, electric arcs, fire, or system failure.
- Follow all assembly instructions completely.
- Use and install the product only according to these instructions and the technical data.
- Store instructions safely and pass them on to subsequent users.
Intended Use
The In-line Fuses interrupt DC circuits in case of fault currents or over-currents.
Requirements for Personnel
Assembly, installation, and commissioning must only be performed by an electrician or an electrically instructed person.
- An electrician possesses appropriate professional training, knowledge, and experience to identify and avoid electrical dangers, and to select and use suitable personal protective equipment.
- An electrically instructed person is supervised by an electrician and can identify and avoid electrical dangers.
Prerequisites for Installation and Assembly
- Never use an obviously damaged connector or In-line Fuse.
- Only use tools, materials, and auxiliary means approved by Stäubli.
Mating and Disconnecting
- Always de-energize the PV system before mating or disconnecting connectors.
- Never disconnect connectors under load.
- Never connect Stäubli connectors with connectors from other manufacturers.
- If an In-line Fuse was disconnected from a string, never reconnect the string without it.
- Never bypass an In-line Fuse with a parallel line or another fuse.
- Never mate contaminated connectors.
Do Not Modify or Repair Component
- Do not modify the component.
- Replace defective components.

Installation Procedure
⚠️ Important Electric Shock Hazard: Do not disconnect the In-line Fuse under load nor connect it in an electrical circuit that is under load.
Using the appropriate disconnect tool, separate the mated connector pair where the In-line Fuse will be located.

Notes on Installation
General Notes on Installation
- Unmated connectors must be protected from environmental impact (moisture, dirt, dust, etc.) with sealing caps (socket order no. 32.0716; plug order no. 32.0717). [Diagram Description: Image shows the In-line Fuse with sealing caps on the connector ends.]
- Do not mate contaminated connectors.
- Connectors must not come into contact with any chemicals.
Cable Routing
Cable management must allow a minimum of 20 mm of cable that exits directly from the cable seal without bending or stress. Refer to cable manufacturers' specifications for minimum bending radius.
When installing in bundles (n > 1), consider the product's temperature ratings and relevant standards/regulations.
[Diagram Description: Illustration shows a cable exiting a connector seal with a label indicating "Min. 20 mm" for the straight section before bending.]
Contaminated/Damaged Connectors
- Do not allow connectors to be contaminated by the environment (e.g., soil, water, insects, dust).
- Do not allow the connector surface to be contaminated (e.g., stickers, paint, heat shrink tubing).
- Do not place the connector directly on the roofing surface.
- Ensure the connector is not at the lowest point of cabling where water can collect.
- Do not allow the connector to be in standing water.
- Do not mount cable ties directly on the connector body.
Mechanical Stress
- Check that connectors are not subjected to permanent mechanical tensile load or vibration.
- Connectors shall not be under strain from cable management.
