ASCO Group G Controller for SERIES 300 Transfer Switches
Data Sheet
The Group G Controller offers enhanced capabilities for dependable operation across a wide range of applications.
Control and Display Panel
The ASCO Group G Controller features an intuitive, easy-to-navigate 128 x 64 graphical LCD display with a keypad. This panel provides LED indicators for switch position, source availability, not-in-auto mode, and alert conditions. It also includes soft keys for test and time delay bypass functions.
Features
- Intuitive, easy-to-navigate 128 x 64 graphical LCD display with a soft keypad and six LED indicators.
- Switch Position: Indicated by ? (green) for normal and ? (red) for emergency LED.
- Source Availability: Indicated by ? (green) for normal and ? (red) for emergency LED.
- "Not In Auto" Status: Indicated by an ? (amber) LED.
- Common Alarm: Indicated by an ? (amber) LED.
- The integrated display is self-contained, requiring no additional components for effective operation.
- Supports both open and delayed transition configurations for automatic and non-automatic systems.
- Features an integrated, multilingual user interface for flexible configuration and monitoring.
- Provides multiple source-sensing capabilities for voltage and under frequency.
- An optional current card is available for current sensing without an external metering device.
Standard Selectable Features
- Inphase Monitor: Transfers motor loads without intentional off-time to prevent inrush currents from exceeding normal starting levels.
- Engine Exerciser: Automatically tests the backup generator weekly, with or without load for 20 minutes (non-adjustable). An advanced multi-schedule exerciser is available as part of the optional 11BE bundle.
- Commit to Transfer: Ensures a stable transfer.
- Selective Load Disconnect Circuit: Provides pre-transfer and/or post-transfer signals when transferring between emergency and normal sources.
- Re-transfer to Normal: Achieved through soft keys, allowing selection of "manual" or "automatic" operation.
- Frequency and Phase Selectable: Switchable between 60Hz or 50Hz, and three-phase or single-phase operation.
Voltage, Frequency, and Current Sensing Features
- 3-phase sensing on the Normal source and single-phase sensing on the Emergency Source (3-phase Emergency sensing is optional).
- Under and over voltage and frequency settings are configurable for both normal and emergency sources.
- True RMS voltage sensing with +/-1% accuracy.
- Frequency sensing accuracy is +/- 0.1Hz.
- Voltage and frequency parameters are adjustable in 1% increments.
- Settings include: single or three-phase voltage sensing on normal, single-phase voltage sensing on emergency, and 50 or 60Hz selection. 3-phase voltage unbalance sensing is available on normal (Emergency unbalance is optional).
- Load current sensing card is available as an option.
Remote Control Features
- External inputs for connecting remote control devices.
- Remote test switch capability.
- Remote contact for test or peak shaving applications; the switch will automatically transfer back to the normal source if it fails and is acceptable.
- Inhibit transfer to emergency function.
- Remote time delay bypass switch for emergency to normal transitions.
Time Delays
- Engine Start Time Delay: Delays the engine starting signal to override momentary normal source outages, adjustable from 0 to 6 seconds (Feature 1C).
- Emergency Source Stabilization Time Delay: Ignores momentary transients during initial generator set loading, adjustable from 0 to 4 seconds (Feature 1F).
- Re-transfer to Normal Time Delay: Available with two settings (Feature 3A).
- Power Failure Mode: Adjustable from 0 to 60 minutes.
- Test Mode: Adjustable from 0 to 10 hours.
- Unloaded Running Time Delay: For engine cooldown, adjustable from 0 to 60 minutes (Feature 2E).
- Pre- and Post-Signal Time Delay: For selective load disconnect with programmable bypass on source failures, adjustable from 0 to 5 minutes (specify ASCO optional Accessory 31BG).
- Delayed Transition Load Disconnect Time Delay: Adjustable from 0 to 5 minutes (3ADTS/3NDTS configuration only).
Door-Mounted Control & Display Panel Details
