Important Safety Instructions

1. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
2. Only use attachments / accessories specified by the manufacturer.
3. To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this appliance to rain or moisture.
4. Apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and no objects filled with liquids, shall not be placed on the apparatus.
5. The batteries shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.
6. Any changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment and warranty.

8. Do not allow your radio to be exposed to water, steam or sand.
9. Do not leave your radio where excessive heat could cause damage.
10. If safety relevant, the following information should be included as far as applicable:
    • minimum distances around the apparatus for sufficient ventilation;
    • the ventilation should not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings with items, such as newspaper, table-cloths, curtains, etc;
    • no naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the apparatus;
    • attention should be drawn to the environmental aspects of battery disposal;
    • the use of apparatus in tropical and / or moderate climates.
11. CAUTION: Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type.
12. If an apparatus is provided with a replaceable lithium battery, the following applies:
    • if the battery is intended to be replaced by the user, there shall be a warning close to the battery or in both the instruction for use and service instructions;
    • if the battery is not intended to be replaced by the user, there shall be a warning close to the battery or in the service instructions.
13. A battery subjected to extremely low air pressure that may result in an explosion or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas.
14. To prevent possible hearing damage, do not listen at high volume levels for long periods.

Important Notes

1. It is recommended to purchase an adapter from SANGEAN that matches the power range indicated on the gift box.
2. When using a non-SANGEAN adapter, the functionality of the radio may be affected, such as the reception of radio stations.
3. When using an adapter that does not fall within the power range indicated on the gift box, please pay attention to the following:
   • A higher-power PD adapter may be used, but the radio functionality, such as receiving radio stations, may be impacted.
   • A lower-power adapter should not be used to avoid unforeseen risks.

  • Solid Blue: The radio is connected to a Bluetooth device.

Listening to music via Bluetooth streaming

Pairing and playing your Bluetooth device for the first time

1. Rotate the Mode knob to select the Bluetooth mode. The LED indicator will blink blue to indicate that the radio is available for Bluetooth pairing.
2. Enable Bluetooth on your Bluetooth device (refer to the manual of the Bluetooth device if you are unsure about how to enable Bluetooth).
3. Go to the Bluetooth list on your Bluetooth device and select the device named “WR-8”.

   Note: On some Bluetooth devices with Bluetooth version 2.1 or earlier, you might be requested to enter a passcode. If this is the case, enter the passcode “0000”.

4. After the devices have paired and connected, a confirmation tone will sound on the radio, and the LED indicator will turn solid blue. You can now play music on your Bluetooth device and stream it through the radio’s speaker. The volume can be controlled either from your Bluetooth device or directly from the radio.
5. Use the controls on your Bluetooth-enabled device to play / pause and navigate tracks.

Disconnecting your Bluetooth device

Rotate the Mode knob to select any mode other than Bluetooth mode to disconnect with your Bluetooth device or turn off Bluetooth function on your Bluetooth device to disable the connection.
