Product Overview
The FIBARO Flood Sensor (FGFS-101) is a Z-Wave Plus compatible device designed to detect water presence and measure ambient temperature. It is battery-powered and features an LED indicator for signaling operational status.
The sensor is compatible with any Z-Wave network and can be controlled wirelessly. It is designed for easy installation and can be integrated into various smart home systems.
Key Features
- Z-Wave Plus certified
- Detects flood/water presence
- Measures ambient temperature
- Battery-powered ? for flexible placement
- LED indicator ? for status signaling
- Tamper-proof casing
- Compatible with any Z-Wave controller
- Easy installation
Installation
Mounting: The sensor can be placed on a flat surface or mounted using the included bracket. Ensure it is positioned where water ingress is most likely.
Battery Installation: Open the casing by gently pulling the two halves apart. Insert the battery (CR2450) according to the polarity markings.
Adding to Z-Wave Network: Follow the instructions for your Z-Wave controller to add the sensor to the network. Typically, this involves putting the controller into pairing mode and then pressing the tamper button on the sensor three times within a short period.
Sensor Placement: Place the sensor in areas prone to flooding, such as near washing machines, dishwashers, sinks, or water heaters. The probe can be extended using the included wire for hard-to-reach areas.
Operation
The sensor automatically detects water and sends signals to the Z-Wave controller. The LED indicator signals various states, such as successful inclusion, low battery, or sensor activation.
LED Indicator Meanings:
- Slow blinking: Z-Wave network communication
- Fast blinking: Z-Wave inclusion/exclusion
- Solid light: Sensor activated (water detected)
- Specific blinking patterns: Indicate low battery or other status
