3. Positioning
The Smart Socket is compatible with standard A15 and A19 light bulbs and supports up to 75W. If your lamp shade height is less than 7 inches, or if your light bulb protrudes from your light fixture after threading in the Smart Socket and light bulb, consider using a smaller light bulb.
It is recommended to position the camera beneath the light fixture. If the camera is placed approximately 5 inches beneath the lamp base against the wall, install the conduit to manage the cables.
*Placement recommendations may vary based on different light fixture designs, styles, and sizes.
4. Toucan Installation
Before installation, ensure the power switch is OFF or disconnect power at the fuse.
STEP 1: Socket Installation
- Remove the USB cover. Disassemble the lamp shade if necessary before installing the socket into the light fixture.
- Install the Smart Socket into the fixture.
- Thread in the light bulb.
- Attach the USB Cable to the Smart Socket.
- Reattach the lamp shade if necessary.
- Screw the lamp shade back in and guide the USB cable through the shade. Adjust the Silicon Pipe on the USB cable to protect the cable.
STEP 2: Mounting the Camera's Back Plate
Option 1: Mounting with Adhesive
- Remove the optional inner temporary adhesive. Use a leveler to align and balance the back plate. You can use a pencil or the Positioning Sticker to mark the placement before adhering to your wall.
- Attach the conduit and cover to the back plate to determine the conduit's length. Afterwards, remove the conduit from the back plate.
- After using the leveler to adjust the plate's balance, adhere the Positioning Sticker to mark the center of the plate. Remove the outer adhesive from the back plate for a more stable wall placement. Align the back plate with the Positioning Sticker on the wall to center it.
Option 2: Mounting with Screws
- After using the leveler to adjust the plate's balance, use a pencil to mark the placement for the screws.
- Drill holes for screw placement.
- Install Wall Inserts.
- Mount the back plate with Washers and Screws.
STEP 3: Camera Body Installation
- Plug the USB Cable into the back of the camera and loop the cable around the rings. Continue looping the cable if necessary.
- Mount the camera to the back plate. Align the white dot to the left of the screw where the white arrow starts, and rotate the camera counter-clockwise to lock it.
- Manage the cable with the optional Conduit. Attach the Back Plate Cover to the back plate if conduit is not used. Attach the conduit and then the Conduit Cover on top.
- Position the camera and use Cable Clips to manage the cable if necessary.
- Tighten the security screw with the hexagonal wrench. Do not over-tighten the security screw.
- Attach the Visor to the top of the camera lens.
