1.1 VIZIO Universal Remote Control
The VIZIO Universal Remote Control is a versatile device capable of controlling up to four different electronic devices. Below are explanations of its primary buttons and their functions.
Remote Button Functions:
Note: This is a programmable remote supporting up to 4 devices. If the remote is not functioning correctly with your VIZIO TV, pressing the TV button will reset the functions back to TV mode.

1.2.1 Programming for VCR
Note: The VIZIO Universal Remote Control does not have a dedicated "VCR" device button. You may program any of the available device buttons (such as DVD, AUDIO, or CABLE) to act as a VCR device selector if those devices are not in use.
- Manually turn on the VCR.
- Press the button on the remote control that you have selected to control the VCR.
- Press and hold the SET button until the LED LIGHT flashes twice.

- Point the remote control at the Cable Box and press the POWER button. The Cable Box should turn off.

- Point the remote control at the device. Alternate pressing the POWER button and the device button on the remote control until the device turns off.
If the device still does not respond, clear the device button and repeat the search procedure.
1.2.5 Changing Volume Lock
The remote control can be configured to control volume through your TV while operating in Cable/Satellite, DVD, or VCR device modes.
- Press and hold the SETUP button until the LED flashes twice.

- Press the device button for which you want to enable volume control. The LED flashes twice. The selected device's volume will now be controlled using the VOL+/- buttons.

3.0 Teaching Remote Control
This feature allows the VIZIO remote to learn commands from another remote control, effectively copying its functions.
3.1.1 Teaching the Remote
For optimal results, place the teaching and learning remote controls no farther than 2 inches apart. If the elapsed time between pressing keys exceeds 10 seconds, the remote control will exit programming mode, requiring you to restart from Step 1.
- Press and hold down the SET key until the LED blinks twice.
- Input code 9 7 5. The LED blinks twice to confirm code acceptance.
- Press the Mode key (DVD, Audio, Cable, or TV).
- Press the key you wish to learn; the LED will blink rapidly.
- Press and hold the corresponding key on the teaching remote control.
- The LED will stop blinking rapidly and then blink twice to confirm the key has been programmed.
- Repeat Steps 3 through 6 until all desired keys are taught into your remote control.
- Exit learning mode by pressing SET or by waiting 10 seconds (timeout).
3.1.2 Clearing Memory
To clear the remote's memory and reset it to its original factory codes:
- Press and hold down the Set button until the LED blinks twice.
