3 Services and Applications
3.1 Data Service
3.1.1 Wireless Modem
The E5783-230a can function as a wireless modem when Wi-Fi is enabled. Users can connect to the internet by using default settings or configuring the APN on the E5783-230a's web-based management page to set up a wireless network.
Textual description of Figure 3-1: A diagram showing multiple devices (laptop, tablet, smartphone) connected wirelessly to a mobile hotspot device, with another device connected via a micro USB cable to the hotspot. This illustrates multi-device access via Wi-Fi and micro USB port simultaneously.
3.1.2 USB Modem
After connecting the E5783-230a to a PC using a USB data cable, users can access the E5783-230a's web-based management page by entering its IP address in a browser. From there, they can set up a network connection using default APN settings or by configuring the APN, enabling internet access.
Textual description of Figure 3-2: A diagram showing a computer connected to a mobile hotspot device via a micro USB cable. This illustrates one-device access via micro USB port.
3.1.3 LTE/3G/Wi-Fi Auto Offload
The E5783-230a facilitates internet access via LTE, 3G, or Wi-Fi. When the device is used in areas with Wi-Fi hotspots (e.g., airports, cafes, hotels), it automatically switches to the Wi-Fi network to conserve LTE/3G data usage.
Textual description of Figure 3-3: A diagram illustrating the LTE/3G/Wi-Fi auto offload functionality. It shows an internet source connecting to a Wi-Fi hotspot, which then connects to the mobile hotspot device. The mobile hotspot device is shown connecting to multiple user devices (phone, tablet, laptop) via Wi-Fi. An arrow indicates the auto-selection process from LTE/3G to Wi-Fi.
3.2 SMS
The E5783-230a supports writing, sending, and receiving SMS messages. Users can manage their messages (Inbox, Outbox, Drafts) through the device's web-based management page.
4 System Architecture
4.1 System Architecture
Textual description of Figure 4-1: A block diagram illustrating the system architecture of the Mobile WiFi. It shows a "Mobile WiFi" unit containing "Software module" and "Hardware module". The hardware module includes "Radio frequency module", "Baseband signal processing", "Power module", "Bottom layer drivers (include USB, Wi-Fi and user interface)", and "User interface". The software module includes "Application system", "Web page", "Web server", and "Protocol stack". The "Application system" interacts with the "Web page" and "Web server". The "Protocol stack" interacts with the "Bottom layer drivers". The "Bottom layer drivers" connect to external interfaces like "USB" and "Wi-Fi". The "User interface" provides interaction. The entire "Mobile WiFi" unit connects to a "PC" via "USB/Wi-Fi" and to a "Mobile phone/Tablet" via "Wi-Fi".
4.2 Functional Modules
- Radio frequency module: Sends/receives radio signals and modulates/demodulates radio signals and baseband signals.
- Baseband signal processing module: Processes LTE FDD/LTE TDD/ DC-HSPA+/HSPA+/HSUPA/HSDPA/UMTS baseband signals, including modulating/demodulating these signals and encoding/decoding their channels.
- Bottom layer driver: Drives peripherals such as USB devices, Wi-Fi devices, the display screen, buttons, and SIM cards.
- Protocol stack system: Processes protocols including LTE FDD/LTE TDD/ DC-HSPA+/HSPA+/HSUPA/HSDPA/UMTS and TCP/IP.
- Application system: Provides SMS, PS domain service, Wi-Fi configuration, network service, web service, and a web-based management page for users to configure system settings.
- User interface: Facilitates man-machine interaction through a display screen and buttons.
